I can totally appreciate all of the work these presenters put into these presentations. Maybe I just watch a lot of organizational videos (and these specific crafters), so I didn't see more than a handful of new ideas. Color coding the top of dies for easier access was new to me. Also one presenter put her ephemera in a packet like holder that was interesting, but would probably take me a year to make enough for my stash. I did find 30- 5 x 7 clear boxes at the second hand craft store to help with some ephemera storage. They were $1 for all 30. I found 30 4 x 6 ones last year.
I hope I find some more ideas in tomorrow's videos.

While I watched Natasha's video and Ardyth's then most of the others (meh) I tackled a couple of overdue tasks. First I cut up a red rubber cling stamp (US flag) that I want to use for mass production but which is a pain to mask and stamp in two colors. It's going to be a LOT easier to use now that the stars and the stripes are two separate pieces. … Keeping all the different collections' scraps together was a mess. I've shifted to keeping small pieces with the die cuts and cut-aparts I have for that collection, if I'm going to keep them at all (in my die cut binder). Ideally I use up the whole paper pad and scraps go into or onto cards or into the bin immediately. … I’ve watched all the presentations for today but Ardeth’s was my favorite by far, I actually got several new ideas. The others were good, but if you watch enough YouTube organization videos it’s likely you’ve come across the concepts before. It was fun seeing the different craft rooms. Oh, I didn’t watch the planner one. And I thought the one on scrapping on the go was also good. I keep all of my collections together until I’m completely done with them to donate everything in a pack. Once I’ve exhausted it for scrapbook supplies the leftovers are for cards. After that, then donate everything save for items I am likely to use again. Then they’ll go with the other journaling blocks, words, etc. So I do keep the items I know I’m not going to use with the collection while I’m using it which drives me a bit batty. Huh, I just realized I can keep that stuff in a thin sealable bag in the back of the collection kit so I don’t have to look at it. Yay, problem solved! Have y’all watched any of the lives yet? eta: Should have kept reading and just ditto’d 950nancy. I don’t store by manufacturer but by type so I don’t need the color coding but is definitely something I’m keeping in mind for other types of craft supplies. I also hadn’t considered putting them in that large of a pocket, storing it horizontal, and doubling up sets. I like EVERYTHING like stored together, so for the larger stamp sets I broke them up into 2 pockets rather than having separate bins for different sizes. I’ve been in the process of storing dies annd stamps in the same categories together rather than separate, though they were always in the same container. And my large background stamps and embossing folders were too wide to go in the same bin facing the same direction. Anyway, if I move to larger pockets these things will no longer be an issue. And I like more room for these new collections. Stamps and dies take up enough room, adding stencils and potentially a hot foil plate and they move to 2 separate pockets in my current size. Plus she had her die cutting machine on a turntable, I saw it in one other video today too. Why has this never occurred to me or why haven’t I noticed that in a video before?!?!

That's one of Ardyth's smartest ideas. She also has grip mats on turntables so she can turn the cards and stencils she's working with as she ink blends to keep them facing the best way for her dominant hand. She has some pretty good ideas and her videos are to the point and informative. She has a craftroom tours/hacks playlist hereI don't usually bother with the lives. They're available forever on the channel so no hurry to watch.

Well, I watched the first couple videos, (bumped that speed up to 1.25 for one of them lol) and I am sorry, but I don't believe the one crafter with her tiny little cupboard. She tells us that is her whole crafting space, (in what appears to be a large, well appointed home) and then produces a big pink mat for her dining room table. Well, you didn't store that in the cupboard! I think she has a craft closet of shame somewhere in that house lol. Edited to add context, commenting on the get organized summit. papercraftersgetorganized.com/schedule-page/I'm watching this one now. She actually does say that she stores the big pink mat between the back of the cupboard and the wall....

How do you keep your workspace tidy when you are creating? No matter how much I try to keep things under control, my desk space is always a wreck! Many tips or suggestions? I put things away and then put the project in a 12x12 Iris container. That way the loose embellishments, paper, photos, etc are all together. But glue, tape, scissors, etc are put away. Then on my desk is just the Iris container. It is easy to open it and put things back on my desk to work on. This also helps with not loosing things for the project.

I keep my 49 and Market and some of my Simple Stories Vintage and Mintay lines in them. I tend to buy 4-5 extra pieces of ephemera for those lines, so I have a lot of stuff to fit in one container and the 12.5 x 12.5 baggies I use just don't cut it. These things go from about $30-$40 for a set of six and I buy them every three months or so. www.amazon.com/dp/B09P3FVMZH?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1I taught for 30 years and my classroom was super organized. I had 5,000 books and bookshelves for days. My classroom materials were all very organized and my lesson plans were printed out the March before I taught the next year. Haha. Now that I don't work in a self contained classroom, I think I have focused all of my extra organization into my scrap room.

I think she also mentioned that she has a lot of stuff in storage until she has a proper craft space. And she owns a shop, so obvs she has easy access to new things and can probably “store things at the store” more than most of us affordably can. But working with kits and being ruthless about “finishing” kits/collections and purging the leftovers is a good tip. Not to mention having a dedicated “donate” bin in the space all the time.

But, like you, I have a lot of embellishments and ephemera for several 49 & Market lines so will be looking into these. Do you have to trim the papers to fit? I have a donations box that the lid just lifts off so it’s super easy to throw things in there even if there is anything on top of it. Just got emptied when DH took everything to work to see if his scrapping coworkers wanted anything so it’s nice to have a clean slate!

There's something that just drives me batty when someone says they organize for a small space and then it turns out to be that they have waaaayyy more storage than that lol. I probably shouldn't have smack talked her right away, lol. Very good idea about a permanent donate bin!

I only gave half my attention to the video after a little while because of course a shop owner and designer doesn't need to hold onto things - they're assured of a steady restock of new and interesting items. And I didn't really connect with her vibe. I'm about to start on day 2. There are a couple of people I like who I'm looking forward to. I'm unreasonably bothered that Justine has an obvious typo in her own presentation title (as in every email she sends out). I'm making some progress on drafting cards with my stash of Dbug scraps so I'll keep doing that this afternoon use it or lose it!!

I bought the package so I can watch at my leisure. I've been watching stuff on and off for days. Once I started digging in, I figured I would not be done with my reorg project by this weekend and that was certainly true, so I decided the timing was perfect and set aside this whole weekend to prep WITL and get through the rest of the cleaning/trashing and sorting while I watch the videos.
My work life just reached one of the "crescendoes of stress" that apparently are going to happen a few times a year in my new role, and I've been in decompression mode since around midafternoon this past Wednesday. I am luxuriating in that feeling. I'm a super introverted person but my role is front-facing fairly often and requires me to create and present to groups several times a year. A couple of those times, I have multiple things to create/prepare and deliver in a short space of time, and the past ten days was one of them. Whew. But it all went great, and is OVER for a good long while, thank goodness.
Now it's time to grab a stack of stuff and a trash bag and get to sorting. Then repeat probably at least a dozen times and then it will be time to get to more of the micro organizing. Once that's done, I'll be taking a break until it's time to build out the second reach-in closet into a cloffice, probably not for a few months.

For those of you that watched the two day organizational videos, what is one area or thing you really want to try to help keep you organized? I currently have all of my stamps, small die sets, and texture plates in my closet. I'd love to find a better space for them in my room. I also have all of my stencils in page protectors and would like to get them out too. I am in my closet daily (walk in), so it isn't a really big deal, but I am thinking this could be my next project. I have two Raksogs and one is basically empty and the other has thick dies in it.

Someone up thread mentioned color coding dies. What was that tip? Ardyth uses a marker to draw a strip of color along the tops of her dies (along the cardstock backer sheet) to label them as sentiments, Xmas/nativity, floral, etc. I think she has 6 categories and some image sets don’t have any category. She stores by manufacturer so she can go to her Honey Bee section and look for the red for Xmas or the grey for sentiment sets. I’ll link a video she did a few years back if I can find it. stamp and die storage at 6:24

Also - how does everyone store sequins? The little baggies they come in are fine until they are opened and then they are a mess. I loved the bloom flower container Laura shared on her video but I need something more compact - hopefully that'll fit in an Alex drawer. I don't have a ton but I would like them better contained.

I most often see people using little rectangular containers that may come in a bigger container - I think they’re possibly bead storage containers. Hopefully someone can link to something good. If you only keep a dozen or so varieties this one might work www.scrapbook.com/store/sbc-storage-3849.html although the circle inside square design is a bit of a waste of space.

That’s where Jennifer McGuire’s blog sent me. But your local craft shop might have better options that don’t have 40 little containers inside!

Michaels sold little square, plastic jars at one time. They had large and small jars. I keep them in pul out drawers. ETA: I used to store them in test tube like containers when I first started using sequins. I also used the small round containers that were magnetic on the back and kept them on my Raskogs.

My takeaway from the summit was that I need these in a bad way lol www.creativememories.com/power-project-folders.htmlI think they would be perfect for what I need, only issue is I need about 40 of them and at 20.00 for 4, yikes. But I think I will start off with 4 and see what I think. I really did love how the paper sorter "3 bears" lady talked about evaluating your needs before getting things to get organzied. My mom loves to go to the container store-she will shop there, buy stuff she likes and then come home and try to organize her stuff into it!

I keep them inside a box so I can pull all of them out at once if needed. The lid of the jar makes a perfect tray to work from as well… Plus the jam is divine!

I have a "right-stashing" question about alphas. I have at least two, possibly three, wood-mounted rubber alphabet stamp sets that are probably at least two decades old. I purchased a polymer alpha stamp set a couple years ago. I have two alpha die sets that were bonuses from SB.C. It is entirely possible that I used one of the wooden sets back in the day, but I'm thinking more likely not.
Having just finished a scrapbook project for the first time that I can remember, I'm feeling mildly hopeful that I might someday pull out some of the unfinished ones stuffed away in a drawer. My gut says that the dies are more likely to be used to create layout titles than the stamps. What say the scrapbookers?

My gut says that the dies are more likely to be used to create layout titles than the stamps. What say the scrapbookers? I actually use my alpha stamps about as often as my alpha dies for scrapbooking BUT I only have 2 sets of clear stamps, no wood mounted alphas. I don't use the wood mounted stamps in general very often on scrapbook pages - just cards. I'm not a talented stamper and the stamp press has been a game changer for me as far as scrapbooking with stamps. Thank you everyone for the sequin storage ideas!

Most of my old wood-mounted stamps that I've actually used in the last two years I've unmounted and used with a stamping platform. I can't really imagine doing that with the alphas. I think they're both already in a destash bin, but if not I'll make it so.
Neither the poly alpha stamp set nor the two die sets take up all that much space, so maybe I'll group them together in the back, but leave them in the new stuff bin.
