I just finished going through all my own scrapbooks. I removed all the bulky embellishments. I also tossed a bunch of pages of excess scenery, keeping only the best photos. I tossed some layouts of random stuff, too. I was able to eliminate some albums and now have a lifetime supply of page protectors! My reason for doing this is I am running out storage space for my albums. Also, I wanted to make what I have more meaningful to me. Bonus, it was really fun to look at all my old layouts and relive some funny moments. ETA - Some of the bulky embellishments I removed were flair, aka 1" round metal circles. I always said I didn't have trouble with them rusting, but some of them finally did. I find this process satisfying too. It’s great to revisit and refine what you have, get rid of the things that haven’t stood the test of time (oh, flair…), and make space for fun future pages.

How's everybody doing?! It's that tough time of year when all the Christmas sales start and you know you're not supposed to be shopping for yourself but....
I am fairly hopeless at not shopping, but I seem to be getting much better at buying only things I'll actually use. I'm learning my own style, likes and dislikes, etc. Things I buy now make it from the "new bin" into the general stash much, much more quickly! Of course, that means the general stash bins are actually starting to get kind of full. The "why make hard decisions when you still have space" condition might expire soon!
I also realize that I probably need to go through that new bin and cull that some more. I know there are things that have been sitting for most of the two years I've been back to crafting! I've slacked off on listing things for sale on FB but should really get back to that.
I did add some paper packs that I'm not enjoying working with or just feeling done with to my donation pile, too. I also need to find a way to get back into the city and drop another box off at the crafty thrift store.
All in all, though I think I feel confidant moving forward that I am making better choices, both with what to acquire and what to destash.

:)I hope everyone is making more progress than I am. Although I have been continuing to go through old papers and trying to do "Swedish death cleaning". Unfortunately none of that has spilled over into my sb supplies. Maybe after the holidays I can re-commit myself.

I need to attack my craft room today. I've been buying stuff for journaling/plannning and haven't found a great way to store it yet.

There are so many things out there I love to look at but not to use... Tell yourself right now is a great time of year to sell or donate, so that people can buy themselves gifts! In my experience after Christmas is the worst time to try and declutter or sell because everyone and their other is doing the same thing. Of course it makes sense - people have the time and seasonal energy and decluttering and organizing is on everyone's mind. But I find it really hard to find buyers for anything during that season. Take advantage of that collective holiday shopping energy now Of course that's much easier said than done with all the holiday whirlwind of Thanksgiving so late in Nov. So I will contradict myself and say that Jan-Feb is a great season for a use it or lose challenge Then you can sell and donate in spring when everyone has given up their resolutions!

So I will contradict myself and say that Jan-Feb is a great season for a use it or lose challenge That's my plan for Christmas supplies - my plan is to finish up this year's cards and then start next year's in Jan/Feb and then donate whatever I don't use (excluding my new EP Christmas mystery box - I plan to use that primarily for scrapbooking and then will use leftovers for cards next year or the year after). I have a lot of bits and bobs that are leftover from embellishment packs/sticker sheets, scraps of PP, and random pieces of PP that haven't made it on cards or pages yet and they are due for a use it or lose it. my scrap folders are probably ready for a clear-out as well but...I might just go through them as I pull one out to use (they are sorted by colour)
