I've made some more progress. On Sunday I pulled out all my mists and tested all the colours. I found three that I just don't see myself using again that have gone to my donate pile, and another couple that I'm on the fence about. It also reminded me that I have some colours I really like so I'm not sure why I never reach for them any longer, although I suspect it's because I keep my gold mist on my desk so just reach for that by default.
I also tidied all the random things that were shoved in the back of the mists drawer (it is a divided drawer, mists in the front, random crap in the back). I tossed a couple of crafty decorative pieces that I wasn't ready to get rid of when I stopped displaying them, along with some product that was dried up. Two pairs of decorative scissors that I'd forgotten I owned and are not designs I think I'll miss have also gone to the donation pile, along with a couple of sets of foam stamps. I've been able to move my embossing powders into this drawer as well now which is a win as I move things around to better fit in my space.

Chinagirl828 - well done - that sounds like great progress I stamped all of my sentiments by type and filed them with my clear stamps so I'm reminded of the sentiments that are stored someplace other than my sentiment section of clear stamps. In the progress - I discovered some that were no longer usable due to the material breaking down so those got tossed. I also reminded myself of some of the stamps I forgot I owned - hopefully I can do a better job using them going forward (or donating them if they don't end up being used)

This thread is very inspiring! I decided I was going to try and tackle my cardstock. I have basically quit using cardstock as it is not super accessible in my craft space. My challenge? Re org using only things I have, no going and buying 50 dollars of super cute storage, lol. I decided to move some paper around and pulled patterned paper that I was basically just storing and used that storage for my cardstock and am working on putting that in ROYGBIV order. That said, now I have a 6" stack of patterned paper that I am not sure where to go with. Part of me just wants to put it in a box and drop it off at Savers and never think about it again.

I've been in my new house just over a year. I reorganized my craft room last week. Now I am working on purging papers I know I'll never use. I'll donate them, of course.
I'm also repurposing some papers that are fairly heavy duty for layering pretty papers over the not so pretty papers.

kmage - looks great. Your helper is cute (from what I can see). My helper likes squirrels also (he's staring out the window as I type) but he also likes to niddle on my paper mikklynn- sounds like good progress. I dealt with my sketch printouts...so many printouts. They are now in 2 thin binders (one for SG sketches, one for other sketches) and 4 poly prong folders (one with the sketches I saved from magazines back in the day, one with Sheetload card slekches, one with OWH card sketches, and one with all the other card sketches).

I just finished auditing all of my albums and photos from 2022 and earlier. That was a big project that I had been avoiding, but I am glad it is finally done! All of my photos were backed up onto two different hard drives as well.
I took over 4,000 photos in April, that's how busy it was! I still need to go through and sort all of those.
My craft room is still not 100% cleaned up after the baby shower either. That's next on the to do list. My floor needs a good mopping.

My town has a Facebook group called "Free Craft Supplies", it's like a "Buy-Nothing" group if you are familiar with those, but only for craft supplies. Someone posted that they are looking for scrapbooking supplies as her and her friends wanted to start scrapping. Since I am needing to downsize, I pulled this nice stack to give to them! Its mostly made up of paper that I got in a de-stash box for $10 a while back, and I have definitely used my $10 worth from that box. I am more than happy to give the rest up. Somehow I still have plenty of paper and this little give-away doesn't really make a dent, lol. Paper purge by scrappy rabbit, on Flickr

It's been bothering me that 2012 and 2013 PL were taking up about 11" of my bookcase space even though I never look at them and I have other albums and projects from that time that I do look at. Not having matching binders also bugged me. So I went through the 4 binders and pulled out enough stuff that wasn't meaningful to me any more to reduce down to 2 matching binders for the 2 years. I have two old Handbook binders and tons of slightly cloudy Studio Calico pocket pages to donate

i am overwhelmed with 20+ years of product. my scrapbook room is full as well as about 7 lg plastic bins that are stored downstairs. these bins have sat unnoticed for about 8-10 years. 🙁
this month i spread out all the items from the bins for sorting. they are in categories throughout the great room. it’s a mess and i have a hard deadline of tomorrow to get them put away before my husband comes home from a 7 week trip!
i need to RUTHLESSLY put into keep, donate, sell on ebay, sell at lss garage sale in july.
it’s been really hard to let go of old favorites but i’m not using them…
wish me luck.

When I started gathering stuff for the LSS sale, it was amazing (and sad) how much stuff I could actually purge. I made a couple cards this week and what did I do? Use my favorite sentiment stamp set AGAIN! Good luck mrssch! You can do it and you'll feel so much better when you're done.

I’m going to be moving my supplies into a room of my own soon so I’ll be organizing. I’m thinking about what I’ll use the closet and kallax shelf for and what I’ll keep out within reach. It’s going to be a lot of work but I’m looking forward to it.

BTT for more crafty organizing this summer. Right now I am really working on how to organize for multi purpose as this 10x10 area needs to function as a crafty space and office. I am going to look online at better ways to use my kallax as I don't think it's really doing all it can do in terms of storage.

I've moved to a new home in the last few months and have cleaned out, sorted and organized literally everything I own. Today I organized my closet in my scrapbook room and have basically organized the hell out of it! LOL Storage practically to the ceiling, Alex drawers stacked on top of each other, two Michaels cabinets stacked on top of each other, and a Hobby Lobby rolling cart stored in there. Oh, and bins and bins loaded up and labeled. it's quite funny how it all worked it to get it all in there -- it was like a puzzle!

Right now I am really working on how to organize for multi purpose as this 10x10 area needs to function as a crafty space and office. My room is a bit bigger 10x17 I think but it's definitely multi-purpose. I have albums stored along one long wall. Along the other long wall I have a sewing desk, a 2x3 cube for sewing storage, my computer desk, and my scrapbooking Kallax. The scrapbooking desk is facing the Kallax about halfway along the short wall and I have more cubes butted up against it (so behind me when I'm at the computer desk) for storage and eventually to use as a cutting table and a treadle sewing machine is at the other end of those cubes. I've also shoehorned in a small recliner for reading. The Kallax is 3x3 but I have six Recollections cubes stacked on top of it (in two rows) which definitely helps with storage for scrappy stuff. My desk has two Alex drawers as the bases so storage there also. And I just raised my Cricut up on a monitor stand to provide just a wee bit more storage on my desk.

I've been purging my Iris bins of embellishments as I use a theme. I'm taking a hard look at the old stuff and either tossing or placing in a donate box.
I've cut apart sticker sheets that were partially used and/or old. I'm only keeping the elements I know I'll use. For example, I cut up a birthday sheet and tossed the clown with balloons, tiny stickers, and kept the cute balloons and cake stickers.

Update on my (sort of) progress: Although I haven't really organized any sb supplies, I found some old work papers from before I retired that I've been going through and shredding. So I haven't been a total failure.

I wish I could say that I have been purging, but I have not. At least I have been doing some organizing. Going through stacks of papers and making sure I have my collections together, and generally putting stuff away. I have also put a big stack of completed layouts into albums. The whole process has made me realize that I need to focus on curbing my intake of supplies--my stash cannot get any bigger. Back to tracking to make sure that I am using more than I buy.

I was given a lot of stamps and dies someone else's destash and at first I was thrilled to keep almost all of it! But I made myself sit down and stamp it all out - I just attached the whole sheet of stamps to my stamping platform and stamped the whole thing, even if it was pristine new... and by the time I got halfway through I realized that there were only a few sets that were really must-haves. I counted how many of the sentiments I would really use and rejected anything where the font or style wasn't something I really loved.
It was just enough extra stuff that I felt like I would need to divide my stamps into categories to be able to find what I need, and I might not be able to keep them all in one spot, which disrupts my entire crafty flow. So I'm being ruthless and passing on most of the destash, and adding enough of my own extra stuff so that I don't have to reorganize.
I'm in the process of closing my Etsy shop so that will free up some space and streamline things too. It will be interesting to see if my style changes when I'm 100% crafting for fun and to donate. I might end up decluttering a lot more.

Unfortunately, I have been in "buy" mode, not organize/destash mode. Christmas in July sales and a few other sales sucked me in. I am getting better about putting away things when they arrive, but I still have small piles of stuff of put away. Lots going on for me through August, but I hope to maintain now through the end of August and get back on track in September (or sooner).

I spent the weekend doing a deep clean on my craft room. I cleaned out my 5x5 kallax unit and purged as I went. I am not 100% done yet, I still need to clean off my Cricut cart and vacuum/mop the floors. I also took measurements for a new desk. I may be treating myself to an ealy Christmas present soon. 😉

I cannot wait to organize my new craft room . . . still waiting on things to fall into place, like selling our Oregon home, the MN cabin, etc! I did get a great find on FB marketplace, a $40 lateral heavy duty file that will be cleaned up, painted with chalk paint, repurposed to hold ALL my vertical files of stamps, and stamp/die sets. Plus who knows what else. I was looking a similar file cabinets and the high quality run $1000! So a little elbow grease some painting will have to suffice my organizing desires.

I have finally moved into my she shed so I've been cleaning, purging, and re-organizing as I moved things out to the new space. I have been out there a few times to work on pages and I think I like how I have it all organized so far, so mostly it'll stay the way it is. I need (ok, want) a new printer, and will need to figure out where that will go but other than that things are good. I took several boxes of stuff to Goodwill, and several to another charity resale type place. I usually donate to schools but since it's summer, there wasn't anywhere to take it and I didn't want it sitting around all summer. I'm sure there will be more... LOL

Checking in. I need this. I am awaiting more paper holders from Totally Tiffany. In the meantime I'm doing a purge. Took part in a scrappy garage sale in July and doing another one in October. On my birthday, of all days. So my birthday wish is that it all goes. I have to figure out a way to better store my stamps & my Thickers.

There was a Pea who posted about taking the inserts from Distress Ink storage containers and using them in drawers. I did this yesterday and I am so excited to not have to be digging through a deep drawer to find the right container, open the container, find the ink, etc. I just got some labels so will be doing swatches to label the sides of the pads tonight. I didn't have quite enough inserts for my pads, so I am going to try to DIY something. Overall, I think this is going to be a great solution. Now I just need to find a purpose for the tins
