There was a Pea who posted about taking the inserts from Distress Ink storage containers and using them in drawers. I did this yesterday and I am so excited to not have to be digging through a deep drawer to find the right container, open the container, find the ink, etc. I just got some labels so will be doing swatches to label the sides of the pads tonight. I didn't have quite enough inserts for my pads, so I am going to try to DIY something. Overall, I think this is going to be a great solution. Now I just need to find a purpose for the tins I use the tins to sort die cuts (some by color, some by theme). They line up so nice in a drawer & I can label the side to see what's in them. Thanks, mom! I really like this idea! I imagine that you can get a lot of die cuts in one of those tins. I've been thinking that I need to corral my Christmas embellishments so this could be a good solution for that.

I have to figure out a way to better store my stamps & my Thickers. Have you seen the way Jennifer McGuire stores her stamps? I switched to this a couple of years ago and really like it. I also use this system to store my dies, and my stamp/die sets. Let me go find a link for you. Here it is.
I also unmounted all of my wood stamps so that all of my stamps could be stored together. It took a while but it has been really worth it, I love knowing when I look in a particular category that everything is there. And am actually considering combining my dies and stamps. I really like the way she organizes a lot of things, and the videos are great rather than just photos and text.

I kept my reinkers in the tins in the closet.

I decided to purge my Christmas paper. I was ruthless. I am donating everything I would not buy again, haven't used after owning it for years, and/or papers I just don't like. I'll be donating it.
I've managed to use up a lot of it in the last year by making cards.

I'm glad this thread was bumped up. I've been watching some destash process videos lately and it has me motivated to go through my stash again. Yesterday I went through all my die cuts/stickers/chipboard and pulled out a decent pile to get rid of. I got rid of a couple of sets of rub ons where I'm just not going to use the couple of pieces that are left, and today have gone through my paper.
I think because I haven't had any mojo lately it made it easier to get rid of things that I've previously kept, as it was clearer to me what I really love, what is generic but useful for the way I scrap, and what is just taking up space in my stash.
I've got a very small pile of things that are going into my use it or lose it pile. If they are not used up by the end of Sketchtember they'll go to the donate pile.

Popping in to share a target "hack" I came up with yesterday. We don't have target in canada. And I only had 5 minutes in the store on a recent trip, and grabbed this $15 unit as it is 12x12: Of course - realized at home that it is 12x12 to the edges, so the drawers aren't a full 12x12 BUT 1. removed the 3 drawers. They stack VERY securely (the lip nests and you could pick up the stack of them without holding on). I put my cutting mats, sticky mats and stamping platform in the bottom one; ALL my small ink cubes, Tim's watercolour pencils in tins and tombow markers in the 2nd one, and ALL my full-size tim holtz inks are in the top tier (since they extend above) on their sides in rows. It would comfortably hold 78 of them. I can see ALL my Tim's ink pads in one glance. Stacked drawers by kirstendrew, on Flickr 2. place the empty "shell" in my idea kallax. Add cardboard "shelves" across the drawer ledges. Voila, 4 "shelves" for 12x12 paper that would normally cost much more. And there is room beside it for my large scor-board! Paper shelves by kirstendrew, on Flickr I am pretty dang happy for this cheap re-org!

Get Organized HQ is doing their big virtual "summit" in about 3 weeks. I got an email from Justine Hovey who is sharing why craft rooms don't need a DreamBox type of storage unit and how you can use the same ideas to organize without one. She has one, of course. Diane in Denmark is also doing a presentation about her FlyLady-inspired routines and she said there are 100 speakers so there will be a lot of cleaning, decluttering and organizing content!
I believe it's Sept 11-15th, during the week, which will be very annoying for people with jobs out of the home. I'm going to tune in because a lot of my favs will be there (Dawn/Minimal Mom, Dana/A Slob Comes Clean, presumably Cas/Clutterbug)but I'm going to wait until the last minute to sign up so I don't have unwanted email cluttering up my life until then.

I’ve never heard of this, and love to organize! What’s the format? A lot of lecture style classes? Showing possible solutions? Watching them organize areas?

I’ve never heard of this, and love to organize! What’s the format? A lot of lecture style classes? Showing possible solutions? Watching them organize areas? Lots of videos (probably about 15-20 mins?) and livestreamed Q&A sessions (prob 45 mins?) plus each will have "free" resources/handouts/printables. They are used as fishing to get you on the presenter's newsletter list. It can help to sign up last minute to minimize the "buy a VIP pass" emails and to gather all the newsletter emails. Topics include decluttering, cleaning, organizing, self care, crafty decor and DIY, bullet journaling, meal planning, budgeting, home routines, productivity and planning, household management in general... You have to scroll way down the page to find the lineup but there are a lot of sessions every day on a range of topics. No wait, here's a direct link thegetorganizedhq.com/gohqv2023-speakers/ Almost all of the people I follow on YT for declutter advice have sessions. Has anyone signed up already? Can you lmk what the VIP pass cost is? I'm guessing $39 "for a limited time." I might actually pay money for this one to be able to watch whenever suits me.

joblackford $39 is what I'm seeing for the VIP pass early bird pricing but I think it was $29 right after signup

I bought 6 of those clear, plastic bins from Target. I love them. I also have a few dozen of the drawers for storage. The idea to use them for inks is awesome. I have my Tim Hotlz inks in wooden shelves, and my other inks in pull out drawers in my Kallax. The inks in the clear bins look so pretty.

joblackford $39 is what I'm seeing for the VIP pass early bird pricing but I think it was $29 right after signup I just went through the speakers and topics, checked a few YT channels, and actually wrote down the ones I want to watch. There are ~4 people I watch regularly who aren’t going to share anything I haven’t already heard. There are another few who are sharing 3 easy things to do or 10 things to declutter type videos which are usually duh 🙄. A couple of people seem to have books that I will check out from the library but they might have some philosophical wisdom to share. And I’ve saved a handful of YT videos to watch, new to me channels I might enjoy. I think I’ll only have a couple of summit videos to watch each day, no problem to fit that in.

I used a cardboard backing that came with a kit, and also tried a plastic divider and my "shelf" sagged woefully. Only about 1 half inch of paper on there, not too heavy either. Will look for something sturdier but thought I'd ask, thanks!

what kind of cardboard/divider did you put in the shell of the unit? I definitely had to do a "look around": For one shelf I used a piece of chipboard I had from making mini albums, thick and sturdy. For the other I cut apart a pizza box from a scrapbook order, and used 2 layers of it. I think I might purchase a piece of foam board at the dollar store and cut 2 pieces to fit. I will sacrifice a little height for a nice secure shelf!
