I understand that good photos are important but I don't need to see a picture of you pouring salt in the bowl. And then a picture of you pouring flour into the bowl, and then a picture of you putting baking soda in the bowl and then a picture of you stirring the dry ingredients, and then a picture of you cracking an egg in the bowl etc etc etc.. cut to the chase.... A few key pictures is great....but please.... Don't overdo it....

I am pretty sure I can handle getting basic ingredients in a bowl, without a play by play. Total overkill!

They have really gotten out of hand. I always skip right by the pictures, and sometimes it takes a while.

And please, for the love of King Arthur Flour, put a clickable link in the title of your email notifications. And also, if you don't have a "print this recipe" option, you do not deserve to have a food blog.

Waaaaaaaaay over the top! One I was looking at the other day had the same photo taken from about 8 different angles - it was something as ridiculous as pouring in milk - 8 TIMES!!!

I do not want to scroll through 500 pictures of salt and stirring and other shit on my Kindle when I have crap on my hands and flour flying everywhere.

I do like seeing the pictures for after it's mixed or during the mixing for consistency etc. But I too can do without the step by step pictures.

Couldn't agree with you more!
I think the blogger is thinking "more = better" when they should be thinking LESS IS MORE!

It's so annoying and unnecessary

I like to imagine those women in the kitchen, one hand holding up their heavy big rig camera, the other stretched out pouring a tablespoon of salt. And then again for the soda. And again for the... What if they get the focus wrong? Do they have a dummy bowl of flour for the salt shot? Or do they throw in another tbsp of salt and dig it out after? Do they take four different angles of the cracked egg so that they have a reserve of stock egg shots, and keep using them over and over? It's hilarious. Maybe they have their nanny or their kids pour the salt...or they make their poor husband do it 50 times.... Wasting all that salt lol!

Seriously true.
I clicked on a recipe link on Pinterest, and had to scroll (and scroll, and scroll, and scroll) to by pass all the pics to finally just come to the recipe.

I am going to try to remember it. I tried to print a recipe yesterday and a simple recipe was two pages with all the extraneous junk. The recipe and directions only took up about 2/3 of a page, but all the other stuff just made it hard to read.

Recently, I've found myself just clicking out of websites when a couple of spins on the mouse don't get me past the pics and to the recipe. I get that all these bloggers want to be Pioneer Woman, but it seems they've forgotten that the point of a recipe blog is the RECIPES.

And when you put the print option on your blog, please, please, please give the option to print without pictures. I hate to waste all that extra ink on a recipe I'm not sure I will like.

Ha Ha -- there's such a thing as tossing out the bad shots. Like the six different ones where there's frosting smeared all over the plate.
