s/o of too much stuff. What's on your walls?

This is on my office wall. It's from Kirklands.

Looking around my house last night, I have more "stuff" than I realized. Way less than my mom, who saved and displayed every wedding favor and funeral card to the point that cleaning out her house was like dismantling the family museum. But still a fair amount.

My walls are the same, I guess. I have a few real, original paintings and photographs. The rest are prints and plaques purchased at places like Homegoods and Target. I have a closet full of decor not currently in use, and I change some things out seasonally or whenever the mood strikes.

I only have a few family photos displayed in small table frames downstairs. The few professional portraits we've had done are on the walls up in the bonus room.

We have lots of stuff on the walls, but I don't think it looks cluttered. We have a gallery wall in the living room, using those gallery shelves from Ikea. It mostly has pictures of our travels on it. I'm also a fan of decorative mirrors, so we have quite a few around. My favorites are framed pieces of decorative glass my dad salvaged from work as a door and window installer.

Sharla, love, love that cow canvas! I saw it last week and wanted it for my kitchen, but DH said no way!

We have coffee-themed art in our breakfast area - framed prints, canvas and even a painting by my DD.

The den walls are mainly decorated with wall tats, our name for the big decals you find at Hobby Lobby or Target.

Right now I'm working on a gallery of family pics to go up the stairwell wall. My MIL isn't cooperating, though. I wanted to frame wedding pics of my parents, the in-laws and us as the focal point. But she says her wedding day was so miserable, she doesn't have any good photos from it. That's really not true because I've seen some of her wedding pics and they're lovely. She's just being hard to get along with.

We don't have many knick knacks, but we do have well-decorated walls. Lots of photos (both family and art), and our anniversary art collection (each year for our joint anniversary gift, we choose a piece of art that somehow reminds of the previous year) are the bulk of the wall decor, but we also have some other art and in a couple spots, some fabric art hangings my mom made for us.

I am not much of a knick knack person, but pretty much every wall has some art on it. We have a photo wall on one of the hallway walls. Dh's brother is an artist and we have a couple of his pieces up. There is one really large piece of his that dh would love to have, but we don't have the wall space for it.

I just took down a lot of art and photos this past week. I have a large Monet print that has been stored behind a cabinet and I pulled it out finally put it in the living room. I have 2 smaller Monet prints that I put up as well. I've bought several new frames and a collge frame to highlight our family photos. I have a large space over our chair in the living room and I think I want some sort of cityscape or city seen to go on that wall. I will find something after Christmas, maybe a local artist.

I also love floral watercolours.

Sharla, I freakin' love that cow. I ordered a Christmas gift bag from a local co-op store and there was a small print of a cow similar to yours painted by a local artist.

We're kind of all over the place. DH likes to hunt and fish, and supports Ducks Unlimited so we have quite a few (large) framed wildlife or hunting dog prints on the walls of our living room and family room that he got at various DU banquets. The family room is graced with his mounted deer head   Over the fireplace, his office has his prize bass from our lake, and the living room has a giant blue sailfish that he bought off of some lady's garage sale, LOL, along with more wildlife art, an old painting of some long dead female relative of his that we never knew that was at his mom's house. He hung the stuff up himself so there is no rhyme or reason to what is where.

Our main floor hallway holds the family "hall of fame" with framed newspaper articles about our businesses and the first sale/dollar bill with them, and a big framed collage thing with pics of us and DD that a friend made for us when we moved in.

In our upstairs guest room though is a nice oil painting that his grandma did years and years ago that I actually like.

Our master bath has a big framed flower print that the former owners left here for us and we never put anything else up there instead.

We have one framed collage thing of DD in our bedroom that our former sitter made for us. I hung it there because I hated looking at the big empty nail that was sticking out of the wall right there with nothing on it, LOL!

We have a lot of beautiful portraits of DD that I would like to put up somewhere but I haven't made the time to do it.

In my kitchen is a big polka dotted wooden chicken. DH hates it, I love it. I used to have a bunch of them in my 100 year old vintage/funky chicken kitchen at our old house, but they don't really "fit" in the kitchen I have now. Which is weird because we never had any actual chickens then, but we do now!
