Yes, yes, yes....!!!! A federal judge has ruled that an attorney for Donald Trump must testify before a grand jury in regards to the investigation into the former president's handling of classified documents, CNN reported. The publication described it as a "monumental ruling."Prosecutors want to know more about a phone call attorney Evan Corcoran allegedly had with Trump as investigators were seeking evidence over possible obstruction of the government’s investigation into classified materials he took to his Palm Beach resort. Sources speaking to CNN say Justice Department prosecutors "have met the threshold for the crime-fraud exception" for Corcoran. "The decision hands Trump yet another loss under seal in court as his team and allies have tried to hold off Smith’s investigators from learning about direct conversations the former president had with some of his closest advisers," CNN's report stated. "The development is particularly notable because of accusations prosecutors would have made about Trump as they argued to the judge for the grand jury testimony." www.rawstory.com/trump-attorney-ordered-to-testify-before-grand-jury-over-stormy-daniels-hush-money-payment-report/

www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/03/17/trump-corcoran-crime-fraud-howell/Judge rules Trump lawyer Corcoran must testify, people familiar say Chief U.S. District Judge Beryl A. Howell ruled there were grounds for a “crime-fraud exception” to attorney-client privilege, the people said
A federal judge has at least partially granted a request from U.S. prosecutors request to force an attorney for Donald Trump to testify before a grand jury about the former president’s possession of classified documents after leaving office, according to two people briefed on the decision. Evan Corcoran had refused to answer investigators’ questions about his interactions with Trump, invoking attorney-client privilege — a principle of U.S. legal practice that says lawyers must keep confidential what they are told by their clients. U.S. prosecutors argued that there are exceptions to the privilege, including when there is evidence that a client used the attorney’s legal services in furtherance of a crime. In secret court filings and a hearing held behind closed doors last week, prosecutors sought to show Chief U.S. District Judge Beryl A. Howell of Washington that there were grounds for a “crime-fraud exception.”
Howell agreed, said the two people briefed on the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the decision is under seal. The people did not provide details of Howell’s decision, and the scope of what questions Corcoran must answer was not clear. Trump’s team will not see the decision until next week, they said, after the Justice Department has a chance to propose redacting portions of the ruling that deal with investigative details that prosecutors want to keep secret. Trump’s team is expected to ask incoming Chief U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg, who succeeds the term-limited Howell as of midnight Saturday, to stay her order while they appeal, the people familiar with the matter said. Howell’s decision is nevertheless a victory for prosecutors, as they investigate whether Trump or anyone around him committed a crime and should face charges after an FBI search of the former president’s home in August turned up more than 100 documents with classified markings.

If I am not mistaken, this is the guy who stood in the House floor telling people to behave in Jan6.. But not such a good guy after all!!! Prosecutors have revealed that convicted Capitol rioter Larry Brock concocted a bloodthirsty plan to seize power on January 6th, 2021 that involved taking hostages, arresting journalists, and cutting off food and water to cities where Democratic voters lived. As flagged by CBS News' Scott MacFarlane, prosecutors say that Brock wrote down his plan to overthrow the United States government on Christmas Eve, roughly two weeks before he and his fellow Trump supporters would storm the United States Capitol building. As part of the plan, Brock outlined a series of "key tasks" that included initiatives to "seize all Democratic politicians and Biden key staff and select Republicans (Thune and McConnell)," at which point they would "begin interrogations using measures we used on Al Queda (sic) to gain evidence on the coup." He then called for his fellow Trump supporters to "seize national media assets and key personnel," and then "eliminate them." As if this weren't enough, he then issued a directive to "let the Democratic cities burn" and "cut off power and food to all who oppose us." www.rawstory.com/capitol-rioter-sentence-2659613697/

more bad news for Trump. Too late though- his voters are convinced there was fraud. www.washingtonpost.com/elections/2023/03/17/trump-fraud-report-2020/Trump-commissioned report undercut his claims of dead and double voters A report commissioned by the former president’s campaign and obtained by The Post did not back up his claims of fraud and did not provide evidence to overturn the 2020 election
When Donald Trump called Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on Jan. 2, 2021, in a now-infamous bid to overturn the 2020 election, he alleged that thousands of dead people had voted in the state. Congressional districts have changed. Find yours for the 2022 midterm elections.
“So dead people voted, and I think the number is close to 5,000 people. And they went to obituaries. They went to all sorts of methods to come up with an accurate number, and a minimum is close to about 5,000 voters,” he said, without citing his study. But a report commissioned by his own campaign dated one day prior told a different story: Researchers paid by Trump’s team had “high confidence” of only nine dead voters in Fulton County, defined as ballots that may have been cast by someone else in the name of a deceased person. They believed there was a “potential statewide exposure” of 23 such votes across the Peach State — or 4,977 fewer than the “minimum” Trump claimed.
In a separate failed bid to overturn the results in Nevada, Trump’s lawyers said in a court filing that 1,506 ballots were cast in the names of dead people and 42,284 voted twice. Trump lost the Silver State by about 33,000 votes. The researchers paid by Trump’s team had “high confidence” that 12 ballots were cast in the names of deceased people in Clark County, Nev., and believed the “high end potential exposure” was 20 voters statewide — some 1,486 fewer than Trump’s lawyers said. According to their research, the “low end potential exposure” of double voters was 45, while the “high end potential exposure” was 9,063. The judge tossed the Nevada case even as Trump continued to claim he won the state. The “Project 2020” report conducted by the Berkeley Research Group has now been obtained by prosecutors investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. A copy was reviewed by The Washington Post, and it shows that Trump’s own campaign paid more than $600,000 for research that undercut many of his most explosive claims. The research was never made public. The Justice Department has sought and obtained multiple reports, emails and interviews from witnesses that show campaign officials

Snicker. I'm kind of surprised they researched anything, since TFG never considered facts to be material. Maybe they did it without his knowing. As to their having paid that much, I hope so, because he'll have a fit if he finds out, but I wouldn't count on that being anything besides the amount the work was contracted to cost, since TFG doesn't pay his bills.

I had to look it up “ESG Environmental, social and governance. DEI – Diversity, equity and inclusion.“ so I was sure what she meant by “WOKE” policies.
So I guess in her world only businesses run by white men who only do business with white men are what’s acceptable. I wonder if she understands that white women would be included as part of DEI?

Former lawyer from Carter administration says a code of conduct CAN be done through the Congress just as other federal judges have an ethics code of conduct. Some of the justices are considering it but there seem to be road block or two .. guess who? Maybe Thomas and Alito?!?! Jimmy Carter official tears apart 'sham' argument against Supreme Court code of conductAlex Henderson, AlterNet March 17, 2023 Polls have been showing that the American public's faith in the U.S. Supreme Court has sunk to record lows. From the overturning of Roe v. Wade in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization to Ginni Thomas (Justice Clarence Thomas wife) encouraging Donald Trump allies to overturn the 2020 presidential election results, the High Court has been inundated with bad publicity.Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin (D-Illinois) has co-sponsored a Democratic bill proposing a code of conduct for the U.S. Supreme Court. Meanwhile, some justices have proposed putting together a conduct code of their own. But the Washington Post has reported that the idea may not be making any headway among the justices because of opposition from Justice Clarence Thomas and possibly, Justice Samuel Alito.Attorney Simon Lazarus, who was part of President Jimmy Carter's staff in the late 1970s and later worked in Washington, D.C. law firms, addresses the topic of U.S. Supreme Court reform in an article published by The New Republic on March 16. One argument against Congress having a conduct code, according to Lazarus, is a "separation of powers" argument. But according to Lazarus, that argument is bogus. "The idea of ethics reform for the High Court has penetrated the zeitgeist," Lazarus writes. "So, what are the next steps? For Congress' incipient consideration of Supreme Court ethics legislation, calling out the vacuousness of (Chief Justice John) Roberts' and his allies' constitutional defense is a crucial first step. Roberts et al. insist that preserving their unique immunity from binding ethics guardrails is necessitated by the constitutional principle of 'separation of powers.' Ethics reform legislators and advocates should have no trouble exposing this claim as a sham." The former Jimmy Carter official continues, "Lower court federal judges, who have been covered by a mandatory code of conduct for decades, have encountered no adverse impact on their ability to render independent decisions. Finally, the long history of judicial ethics laws also undermines the current justices' contention that new restrictions could unconstitutionally invade the Court's independence. As I and others have written, statutory ethics provisions applicable to the Court were enacted as long ago as 1792, and as recently as April 2022." This guy is disgusting. Someone should demand he provide verifiable proof there are no kids in Minnesota that are hungry. That they don’t have access to enough food. Such a stupid claim. I also don’t know anyone personally that doesn’t have enough to eat but I’m not so above reality to think that there aren’t any. I am glad that California schools have free lunches and maybe breakfast. What a piece of work. I’m sure he wouldn’t associate with those that are “below” him snd only associates with those that can help him.

So I was listening to the local radio station and they had done an interview with this investigative reporter, didn’t get his name, who was talking about how that Truth Social or whatever trump called it, laundered money for some Russians.
And it isn’t the first time trump had laundered money for the Russians this reporter claimed. It seems he may have done it with the casino and even before that. But it seems nobody wanted to do anything about it.
The one thing Mueller was told not to investigate in the Russia Investigation was the money. Any idiot knows that any investigation worth its salt follows the money. But yet Mueller was told not to investigate it.
That reporter from the Washington Post who investigated the trump charity also looked into his other finances and found that sometimes trump’s organization was short of money then all of a sudden his organization was paying cash for buildings instead of taking out a loan.
There is and has been something fishy about trump’s finances and yet nothing happens.
Normally I wouldn’t care but the last thing this country needs is a president that can be blackmailed by a foreign country. Say like Russia.

Is anyone else following the grifters keeping hundreds of thousands dollars of gifts from foreign countries? GAO has the Saudi swords... Still missing, a larger then life full portrait of TFG. Much has been recovered, but not all.

This guy is confused. The main thought on most school officials today is how to keep kids safe from mass shooters. To the point they now are demonstrating rolling safe rooms to keep the kids safe from some angry white guy with an AR-15.
As to the bit about locking kids out of schools. What was the alternative? If they hadn’t shutdown in person learning how many teachers and kids would have died? What was an acceptable number of deaths to keep the schools open?

There are constant reports on the news that the food shelves have been getting hit hard by people in need, especially in the last year with food costs on the rise.

People had better wake up and start to pay attention to what these state legislators are proposing and passing. WTAF? Young girls especially who don’t tend to have regular cycles aren’t supposed to talk about their periods? What is a girl supposed to do if she is caught off guard and gets it when she isn’t expecting it? These people are ridiculous. ETA: One of my sisters got hers when she was 11, in the 5th grade. Since my oldest sister and my mom never even talked to her about it before it happened, the poor kid thought she was dying when she suddenly started bleeding at school one day. And to make it even more fun, she attended a private Catholic school and was sent to the nun in the nurse’s office who handed her one of those old fashioned belt contraptions saying, “It’s just your period. Here.” and expected my sister to know what to do with it, which she didn’t. My sister told me that she just sat in the bathroom and cried because she didn’t know what else to do.
