I just told myself to put down the washi tape, it doesn't need to go on every layout I do try to stamp on every layout, even if it's one tiny heart or the date, otherwise I forget to use my stamps... And finally, stop cutting into fresh cardstock and find a scrap for goshsakes I really should post all these above my desk, so I stick to them... What about you?

I'm the opposite when it comes to cutting into a whole piece. My mantra should be - Go ahead and cut it!

Buy it. Use it. Buy more.
I do what I want.
If it’s ugly, get rid of it.
Don’t keep things that cause stress.

Mine are:
It will get done, when it gets done.
Buy it when I see it, otherwise I might miss out. (especially on quarterly or seasonal releases). If I love, love, love something.....buy more than one. Especially alphabet stickers or chipboard.
Do what I love and what makes me happy, and don't worry about what anyone else thinks.
There's no such thing, as too many photographs.

I bought it to use it so use it. Don’t hoard it. Don’t use paper sparingly. The goal is to have completed layouts - not a big stash.

One day when the kids are older you’ll have the time and be excited to scrap all those baby photos you took… one day

One day when the kids are older you’ll have the time and be excited to scrap all those baby photos you took… one day Yes! My kids are 25 and 18, and I am now getting around to scrapping (or re-scrapping) old photos from when they were babies and toddlers. And yes, it is exciting!

Oooh. These are good!
Mine is...
My family doesn't care how old the collection is. I can use the supplies I want. They don't have to be the newest releases. Plus it helps me use my stash more.

stop cutting into fresh cardstock and find a scrap for goshsakes Mine is "just use the new sheet and stop searching for a matching scrap" Also "it's just paper" And "good enough. Not horrible". Gina K used that in a class and it resonated!

I always feel like I took 100's of photos, and then realize later, I didn't actually take that many.

One day when the kids are older you’ll have the time and be excited to scrap all those baby photos you took… one day I just bought a digital camera when dd was born (2004) and I didn't like using it, so I didn't take nearly enough photos, or they're blurry, or DH had the camera and only took videos, you know with the TV on in the background... My DS (9) has about 10000 more baby photos than DD, I wish I could go back and kick myself!

I was poor (like govt assistance poor) when DS31 was born and film was an expensive treat...and my camera got stolen when he was 3 so there's a section then with no pictures. There aren't nearly as many photos of his younger childhood than there are of DD22 (when I could afford more film and developing) or especially DD16 (I got a dSLR when she was an infant). But there ARE photos of all of them.

These are all great!
I'll add: Make time to scrapbook. No one else cares if the house is dusty.

My family doesn't care how old the collection is. And they don't care which trend you are following--or NOT following--right now. "There is no wrong way to scrapbook". "Done" is better than "perfect". Made a mistake? That's what embellishments are for! I jumped onto this crafting train. I intend to enjoy the ride!

I've never regretted journaling on a layout but I've often regretted not journaling at all or enough.

USING IT IS NOT WASTING IT. NOT using it is wasting it. I have to tell myself this all the time! Also, Fancy is fun but simple is done. I am WAAAAY behind so something just getting it done has to be good enough.

Mine is a bit long but here goes. You will not run out of paper in your lifetime, so you do not need every piece of free paper you are offered. You do not need to hoard paper for the scrapbook apocalypse. You will not be stuck with great photos and no supplies to scrap them with EVER! Your silhouette still in the box will keep you safe from a lack of die cuts for your pages.

I love this thread. I need to post most of these in my space in big, bold lettering! I try to stamp on each layout as well to justify my stamp collection. I frequently remind myself I will never run out of paper and not worry about “saving” it for something “special”… every day is special and I sometimes need to get over myself!

I really should post all these above my desk, so I stick to them... What about you? I do have one mantra printed on a post it note above my desk. It reads as follows: "Sarah! If you are shopping online, stop it! Just say no! No!" 😂😂😂 I am still working on that 50 layouts before shopping challenge.

“Use shit up” is one I keep telling myself.
I need to add use stamps on every layout to my list.

I have one for when I'm shopping: If I would not buy it at full price I do not like it enough to buy it on clearance.

Another one I've been trying to conquer lately is wanting to save pretty paper and supplies for a special or better picture or set of pictures. I'm telling myself that if it works now or even if I just want to use it now then go ahead and use that paper! I could die tomorrow and leave behind all that pretty, unused paper!
