If you have not watched Australian Survivor you need to. It used to be on Paramont Plus and they suddenly took it off. But this season you can watch on YouTube from the channel Macy76. They have 24 players to start and it goes for like 46 days. It's the same, but sooo different. I love the host and the challenges are more physical. When it is live it is on Sunday and Monday nights. They have the first 14 episodes up right now, and a couple drop Sunday and Monday every week. They give them rice and beans and food is never really mentioned AND they have clothes, swimsuits and multiple pairs of shoes. No walking around in your underwear - except most of the men wear speedos - lol. There are idols, but not excessive. If you have the time check it out.

I was able to watch the first season of Australian Survivor when it was on Paramount Plus and half of the second season and then they removed them. What I was able to see of it I loved. They are more like what the classic older seasons of Survivor used to be like without all of the idols and advantages, and the challenges are much more physical. Scrappersue thank you so much for posting that these can now be seen on Youtube. I know what I'll be watching tonight! I wish to heck Jeff Probst would listen to some of the fans and what the fans want in regards to American Survivor. Fans have been saying for a long time they want reduce the number of idols and advantages and lots of other things, but Jeff doesn't listen. It's his show and he does what he wants. You would think that a show that lost a lot of viewers season after season would have the producers and Jeff rethinking that idea, but so far that hasn't been the case.

The conspiracy theorist in me think Jeff had them remove Australian Survivor from Paramount+ because too many people compared the two editions.
Also, has anyone listened to his new podcast? I suppose it lessens the amount of time he has to speak to people like Dalton.

Thanks scrappersue. I watched the first 3 episodes of the latest Australian Survivor. It is so good. I can tell I’ll binge this one quickly.

The only season of Australian Survivor that I saw on YouTube was the Heroes vs. Villains one. Are there any others there? I only looked quickly so I'll poke around tomorrow. I'm liking it okay but I'm never a huge fan of seasons where there are returning players, as I think some of these people are. Also, the host is Not Jeff so he falls short there. But, it's fun enough, and I like the challenges so far. Although sadly they also have immunity idols.

DS is here so we finally got to watch! I agree with almost everything that has already been seen. Wasn't sad to see Maddy go, happy that Brandon played his idol, perhaps Barbershop guy did his shot in dark so he wouldn't have to vote against Brandon. Sad for Bruce.

And what the actual hell? Why on earth would you use your shot in the dark on the season's very first tribal council when no one has even mentioned voting for you? It makes absolutely no sense! In Maddy's exit interview she said that Jaime (?) was the initial target so that's why she used it. I hate when they edit it so we think people are crazy for doing something!

So she used it because she didn't want to vote for Jaime? Why didn't she just vote for someone else? Giving away your power in the game-your vote-doesn't make much sense to me. The shot in the dark and the time to use it, I think, Is when you think the votes are going to be coming your way and you don't have an idol. You are backed into a corner so using your shot in the dark (which only has a 1 in 6 chance of working anway) makes sense at that time. You can only use it once in the game.

Now it makes a lot more sense to me. From what I saw of Jaime in the first episode I thought she seemed like someone who'd never seen a single episode of Survivor and had no earthly clue how to play the game. Or maybe she was just someone who is high strung and easily panicked? Actually that makes a lot more sense now that I think of it. She had enough experience from watching previous episodes to play her shot in the dark since she thought she was being targeted and she didn't have an idol. Wonder what the other person's thinking was who also played their shot in the dark? I can't remember who that was.

So I've been watching the Australian Survivor, Heroes vs. Villains that I found on YouTube while I wait for the next episode of our American one. And wow, I've noticed that those survivors have SO many clothes! Warm clothes.... hoodies, and flannel-looking shirts, and long sleeves. The Australian show has copied so much of the American Survivor, yet they didn't copy the part where the survivors are freezing in just a teeshirt and shorts. I wonder why? I'm going to google...but it just hit me that they look so cozy standing around the fire dressed so warmly, compared to some seasons that we've seen in the American show.

Wonder what the other person's thinking was who also played their shot in the dark? that was barbershop guy. I think it was so he didn't need to vote against Brandon since they bonded while doing the coconut challenge. Also, since he was hurt, maybe thought he was an easy target.

I'm almost done with Survivor - saying something when I've watched every season since the beginning. With so many complicated advantages etc and no character development it is so hard to watch. Even more so with the current season of Australian Survivor being run at the same time in Aus. It's a truly excellent season if you are able to watch it.

I'm almost done with Survivor - saying something when I've watched every season since the beginning. With so many complicated advantages etc and no character development it is so hard to watch. We've also watched since the very beginning. We intently watch about the first half of all the recent seasons and then putter out in the middle because the characters are just meh ... I can't remember any of the recent winners. I can't remember being happy with who is moving forward in the game. There are too many twists, turns and options for my brain to analyze the potential moves. Especially since it is being produced in a certain way they want us to see. The scenery is beautiful and I enjoy the challenges, but the rest of the stuff, I don't really care about. I did think this first episode was better than recent seasons. I thought the cage thing was cool and I was glad the guy that found it was honest with his team about finding it. I think if he wouldn't have been honest, it would have come back to bite him. I was glad the gal that tried to get him to hide that he found it went home. DH and I cheered. LOL The only better person to go home was the gal that set up the rocks in the bag so she could go on the boat ride. Then she lied about what she did in the game. Thought it was cool that the other team snuck over and tried to tip them off that she was lying!

No walking around in your underwear - except most of the men wear speedos - lol. There are idols, but not excessive. If you have the time check it out. I started watching Australian Survivor Heroes vs. Villains last night on youtube. I think that's the only season that's available on youtube right now. Before Paramount Plus took Australian Survivor off I was able to see season one and half of season two but that was a while ago. I recognized 2 players from the 1st season-one who I can't stand and the woman who won that season. All of the rest of the folks are new to me. I watched 2 episodes last night and really enjoyed the heck out of it. They filmed this season in Samoa. What I like-more players and most of all almost no idols and advantages makes a huge difference! People are basing their voting strategy on player's strengths, social skills and lying abilities. Not on who has an idol or advantage. It takes the game back to its original brilliance. The basis of which was can you form a society out in the wild from a group of strangers and determine who you can trust and who you can't. There are idols but they are few and far between. So far (3 episodes in) no one has found one and there isn't much talk of them. Compare this to the current season of American Survivor-1 idol found and played, numerous advantages found (I can't keep track of them) and we're only one episode in. And most of all voting strategy seems to always focus around who's got what idol or advantage-to me that's boring! Also they always do two challenges reward plus immunity which I prefer on Australian Survivor. On the last few seasons of American Survivor we've had time taken up with 3 people for the different tribes going on their little treks to try to get advantages-that part is so boring to me. I'd much rather they got rid of that (not to mention all of those advantages) and used that time instead for a reward challenge. I agree with the Pea who said she thought they removed Australian Survivor from Paramount Plus because Jeff didn't want people comparing them. I think this is true! He probably didn't want folks comparing them because people would prefer Australian Survivor. He has a reputation for not listening to what the fans want and just going forward with what he wants which is how we ended up where we are. I too have watched Survivor since the very first episode-every season, twice if not more. I currently watch mostly for the scenery and the challenges, but it's gotten to the point since Covid that every season I wonder-will this be the last?

I have heard some of them saying that they're cold at night, but still they're a lot better off than most of the American survivors. -- And yes, thankfully no underwear. Although... those Speedos might as well be underwear. lolol

Yes most do have some sort of longer clothing but I'd hardly say they are cosy. Anyway, given our game is 20 days longer than your version having some extra clothing is probably warranted.

Anyone watch U.S version of Survivor last night? I was so surprised the votes went towards Helen and not Carolyn, and that Helen got voted out. Didn't make much sense to me. Carolyn found the key, got the idol out of the cage but stupidly left the bag gaping open so everyone on her tribe could tell someone had been in there and gotten what was inside. Danny on the other tribe also found the key and got inside the cage but he cleverly manipulated the bag so it looked like it still held something-that was the way to do it.
I've been watching so much Australian Survivor (Heros vs Villians)-I'm now on episode 12-that I was surprised how quickly American Survivor was over-the episode just flew by. With AU Survivor each episode is 60-70 minutes long, and you get 3-4 episodes a week! Every episode of American Survivor is only 43 minutes and we only get one a week. Australian Survivor start with 24 players and they are out there for 50 plus days vs the current American Survivor of 26 days which Jeff says is here to stay-they won't be going back to 39 days. They also win a smaller prize-just AU $500,000 which is the equivalent to $380,000 USD.
I think for now I am done with American Survivor. I'm just having so much more fun watching Australian Survivor. It reminds me of why I fell in love with Survivor in the first place and how the game used to be. Yes there are idols but not a ton of them, and voting is back to how voting used to be-based on strategy and game play. The challenges are tough and fun to watch, although I do recognize some of them as true Survivor classics. Having such a large cast and starting with 2 teams makes it a lot more fun as well I think. Oh, I forgot to mention this in my last post-you'll never guess who is playing in this season of Australian Survivor-Sandra's (The Queen) daughter Nina! She's all grown up and is playing very well. She's amazing at puzzles.

I know it takes awhile to connect with the people, but not excited about most of them. Carolyn is "colorful", but that's not who I'd put my money to win or even get very far. And did I understand the scene correctly-when she was showing the camera what she got, she held up the coin and said it was an idol. But the other guy read that the coin was not an idol, but could be used however you want? Does she have that backwards?

Danny found a hidden immunity idol. The coin had absolutely no power, the instructions said what he chose to do with it was up to him.
Carolyn should have thought out the removal and return of the bag better. (Bless her heart). She found a hidden immunity idol and “beads of nothing”. This girl had me tickled all night laughing at her during the show.
Helen thought she was running the show and found herself voted out. (I was happy about that)
I wonder what Sarah is thinking (she should clearly realize by now that she had the wrong alliance)
