Y'know, the only place I have ever seen this Wills/Rose thing is here, on this forum. I sell newspapers and gossip mags; it has never been in one that I am aware of so I Googled and the only references I can find relate to US magazines and one, In Touch (??) in particular where it is stated that they suggested that William may have had an affair. Sounds cast iron solid to me. (snarky eye rolling) Interesting! I thought it might have just been me that had missed that rumour - I've never seen anything about it anywhere either.

The surprises me because I've been seeing it for years...it first started in 2019. If I google now I get several different articles that come up on multiple sites - that I won't link because I don't want to drive more traffic there. But they all mention her by name and always point out that Rose & Catherine were/are friends and then had a "falling out" which they claim is proof of the affair. Maybe they did have a falling out about something...but Rose & her husband were at both Philip & the Queen's funerals, and I find it very hard to believe Catherine would have allowed that if she was involved with William. But the biggest proof is Pippa's daughter being called Rose...no way would she do that to her sister.

I’m even less inclined to believe it now though - surely Harry would have blabbed about it by now 😊

I’ve seen anti-monarchists and Sussex supporters on Twitter/IG push the Rose affair/pegging rumor/Pippa hates Catherine so named her daughter Rose. Usually these trend when there is negative Sussex breaking news.
It’s the other side of the coin of the weird surrogate rumors re: Archie/Lili. There is no way Meghan did NOT carry those babies. It’s was in her face for both of them.

I feel like these are super prominent stories that I’ve seen everywhere online and in print for years.

There’s a whole lunatic fringe that claims Archie/Lili were born via surrogate. They claim Meghan wore a moonbump (fake pregnant belly). This is to claim that they are not eligible heirs to the throne. It’s crazy I tell ya!

Pop culture is hardly where I would expect to find genuine, if any, news of the Royal family.

Pop culture is hardly where I would expect to find genuine, if any, news of the Royal family. There was speculation William had the story squashed. Kind of like Katherine's topless photos which were leaked, and then basically taken off print. I am sure they are out there, but you really would have to look hard to find them.

I don't know if someone has already posted this. Earlier this week Buckingham Palace also updated its website's list of succession in relation to the two children of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan. The children are now listed as Prince Archie Mountbatten-Windsor and Princess Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor. Although they automatically became a prince and princess when Harry's father King Charles acceded to the throne last year, they had remained listed as plain "master" and "miss" on the website. The titles had emerged as a contentious issue after Harry and Meghan quit royal life and moved to California in 2020. www.rawstory.com/uk-s-king-charles-grants-brother-edward-duke-of-edinburgh-title/

Ooh, I think I may be in the surrogate conspiracy group... ha! Got to hand it to the girl though, if she did pull that one off.
The William/Rose rumour too is curious... can't help but wonder if that's what Harry is currently holding over everyone's heads with all his, "I have enough material for another book, but they'll never forgive me" chatter. Who knows?
Also: had to ask what the activity related to the word peg was a few months back when I read about it and kind of wish I'd remained a sweet innocent, lol.

There are a few rumours around William's... 'hobbies and preferences', shall we say. It's curious to wonder what Harry might have been talking about when he mentioned the press publishing stories about H&M to keep other stories out of the news.
I don't judge anyone in the least - we all have our skeletons after all - but you can see how as a member of the RF, you might need to uphold a certain image in order to not lose the respect of your country.

The perpetrator of the rumour, Giles Coron admitted he started the rumour. Never happened. He made it up. Giles Coren, the English journalist? Yes, and he is a friend of Meghan and now Prince Harry. In a discussion about whether William had had an affair with Rose Hanbury, Coren said that "everybody knew it was true." Coren then admitted on Twitter that he lied but of course the damage was already done. He basically wanted to see how far a lie would go. Jennifer

I’m just in from work and too tired to be having this conversation. I am staggered that anyone would make that statement. Do you think they are the British version of the Kardashians? Please give me your definition of pop culture because it is clearly totally opposite to mine.

I mean, I think certain politicians become part of pop culture, too. Pop culture is popular culture. What’s popular in any given culture at any given time. They’re on tshirts and paper dolls and episode of South Park, you really think they aren’t part of pop culture? They’re making shows on Netflix and trying to sell books at Barnes and Noble. Kate is in every magazine all the time. Any item of clothing she wears sells out in minutes, you think fashion magazines and clothes aren’t part of pop culture? PPW attend the BAFTAs and movie premiers, you think that’s not pop culture?

I am staggered that anyone would make that statement. Do you think they are the British version of the Kardashians? Please give me your definition of pop culture because it is clearly totally opposite to mine. Actually I agree in part, obviously unlike the Kardashian's, that isn't their only or main function/purpose, but I think it's hard to deny that an element of the Royal family these days is firmly embedded in popular culture. They all have social media accounts, Camilla has an online book club, Mike was on I'm a Celebrity (and let's never forget the TV cringefest called "It's a Royal Knockout" way back in the 1980s already...even Anne was on that), and then there's the Harkles who are desperately cramming themselves into every element of pop culture that they possibly can, even getting a South Park episode made about them. They are still in the tabloids and even the 'legit' publications like Time, Vanity Fair etc. Catherine's face is everywhere, and they are walking red carpets & going to movie premiere's etc etc and all of that keeps them in the spotlight and has people talking about them. I'd class all of that as "pop culture" Yes their main work is outside of that, and for people living in the UK you probably focus on that more, but for a lot of people outside the UK, the pop culture part is probably all they know (and maybe even care about).

Here is a TT on the rose \ William rumors (supposedly started in the Sun). There will be a series on how the press had a suspicious lack of interest in the story… www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRWEVXNd/
