You don't have to have it fully charged. Yup- green means its fully charged. Download takes usually 30 seconds maybe. Safe travels ETA- to fully charge my kindle when it's completely dead it takes about an hr maybe hr and half. I never really paid close attention that much.

Less than a minute per book. Really more like 20 seconds maybe? And no, it doesn't need to be fully charged.

It does not need to be fully charged and your books will download in less than a minute. If you will be using wifi to download your books remember to turn the wifi off when you are done to save on your battery life.

A battery charge will last forever, so if it doesn't fully charge, don't despair. Books download very quickly. Is it going through wi-fi or a usb cable?

Thanks everyone. The light just turned green, after about 3 hours of charging. I'm going to use USB cable and download four books I have paid or got for free on Amazon a while back. I hope this thing is user friendly.. I'm going to be figuring it out in airports and on planes tomorrow. They are so common, I imagine someone won't mind helping me if I can't figure it out on my own. Thanks again!
