MyFIL has given me my DH’s baby book. The book itself is in bad condition but it has photos and lots of handwritten notes done by his late mother. I’m entirely unsure of what I’m going to do with it. It’s about 8.5 x 11 in size and there are some full pages of handwriting. I definitely want to preserve those so I guess I’m doing at least an album 8.5x11 size. There is even a hand drawn birth announcement that his father did glued in the current album. I will need to try and get that out without damaging it.😬. Any advice on this project would be most appreciated!

Could you scan the pages and make a book with those so you don't risk damaging the originals?

I used archival mist on my mom's scrapbook from the 50s and it preserved almost everything intact. I would take out entire pages and cover any photos then spray them and put them in 8.5x11 page protectors.
Projects like these are basically historical documents and should be left intact as much as possible. Do not toss out any of it. Even the cover can be saved in a page protector.
