Edited: Just an fyi, the Stamparatus by Stampin' Up! has been pulled from their new catalog and is no longer available. They don't go to court against MSP until December, and this is kind of a surprise.

It's gone already. I was at my local demonstrator's house on Saturday. She tried to order it for me Sunday and couldn't. She spoke with SU today and it's already sold out.

I'm very surprised about this too. I really hoped that SU can win.

If there's still a hearing pending, it might not be gone forever. But I am disappointed I wasn't able to get a spare if it is.

I wasn't a card maker when all this initially went down (Tim Holtz), but man, it really annoys me.

As for the warehouse being out of it so quickly. I wouldn't be surprised to see a dearth of unused/unopened Stamparatus finding their way to the auctions sites soon :/

Totally surprised it sold out so fast. I am hoping this is temporary until all the lawsuit stuff is settled, I just don't know.
They (SU and MSP) are going to trial Dec 4 this year according to a court registry. There was a rather big pause, though, before that was set up, so I suppose some kind of settlement could have been made. It doesn't make sense, though, if they are actually headed into a trial phase.
Still disheartening SU discontinued the platform so abruptly without any real explanation.

As of this morning, when my demonstrator put my order in, spare magnets and the grid paper that fits the Stamparatus are also gone.
I suppose it could be speculators, but given the number of folks on this forum alone buying a spare and/or recommending to others that they hurry up and order one, I'm not sure it isn't all just crafters pissed off at the Stinky Flower.

Do you suppose that if Stamparatuses (Stamparati?) start showing up on eBay, she'll sue the sellers?

Grid paper can be photocopied and/or scanned then printed.
Button and bar magnets that fit are available on Amazon, and sometimes at Michaels.
I have one spare plate, because it’s helpful when doing layered stamping. I tried to order another plate about a year ago, but I couldn’t find the plate available separately in the catalog even then. I emailed my SU rep, and I never heard back from her. Since she couldn’t be bothered to reply, even to let me know if it wasn’t available to buy separately anymore, I never ordered anything from her again.
I only use my SU platform for layered stamping, and/or stamping a background for scrapbooking. I use my TH platforms for the rest of my stamping. My mini TH platform gets used the most. It seems to give me the best results when stamping.
It’s very disappointing that there are no really good alternatives to the M___. However, the new stamping tool from Altenew does look promising. If I didn’t have the SU platform, I’d definitely want the Altenew one, just for layered stamping.

scrapnnana I will probably get the Altenew, because of the fool/money theorem, or because I am the curator of an extensive craft supply collection.

The Petunia woman spends so much on lawsuits it’s a wonder she makes a profit. I’d never buy anything from her. I’d go with a knockoff on Amazon.

Yeah, the lawsuits are ridiculous. Honestly, if I could find a lawyer pro bono (I have no money), I'd sue her/MSP for trying to monopolize a market, infringing upon my freedom of religion rights, and for threatening DIY folks with frivolous lawsuits (c'mon, humankind has been DIY since the dawn of the first self aware thought).

So, back when this thread was first active, I took note of the fact that the timing of the sunsetting of the Stamparatus seemed to coincide far more with the release of the Stampwheel than with anything going on with the Stinky Flower vs SU lawsuit.
I wondered if maybe this was a legal strategy to prove that the litigious platform lost market share even with the Stamparatus off the market or something, such that damage couldn't be demonstrated.
Then Waffle Flower released their new Grip Mats and I noticed that I would need a 7.5" square to fit my Stamparatus perfectly, and they didn't make that one.
Then I had a coupon at SSS and the 6" Grip Mat was out of stock and SSS recommended I look at the Altenew grip mats, made for the Stampwheel. Which happen to be 7.5" square.
I received mine today. It fits perfectly. I'm stamping so, so happily already.
I still don't understand what's really going on, but I'm more convinced than ever that the Stamparatus was pulled because Stampwheel was released.

I think they had started pulling back on the Stamparatus before the release of Altenew’s Stamp Wheel, probably to minimize potential lawsuit damage, but it’s also possible that if they had gotten word of the Stamp Wheel coming soon, they could have realized that both issues would make their Stamparatus no longer worth producing.
Regardless, it’s obvious that now our alternatives are either the M______ or the Stamp Wheel. I have not felt a need to buy the Stamp Wheel so far, but I’d love to know who has bought it and how they like it. It looks wonderful for those who like stencils, but I rarely use stencils. How do you like it for stamping, especially the multi layer stamps from Altenew?

I have a M----, Tim's platform, the Stamparatus and recently bought the Stamp Wheel. The Stamp Wheel is by far, my favorite. It is so easy to use. The mat holds everything so well, and the top picks up the stamp easily. Placing and rotating it is simple, also. I have quite a few Concord & 9th Turnabout stamps and it makes using them a breeze. Making wreaths of all sizes is super easy, too.
If you are on the fence, buy it! I haven't regretted it a second.

Have you tried using the Stampwheel mat in the Stamparatus? That's what I'm doing now and OMG I love it!
I plan to ask for the Stampwheel for Christmas....
I imagine that even with the Stampwheel, the Stamparatus, being a little more compact, will feel like using a compact die cutter instead of pulling out your big machine.

Making wreaths of all sizes is super easy, too. If you are on the fence, buy it! I haven't regretted it a second. I second this. I looooooove the stampwheel. I used the Misti before this. I also have the Stamparatus but never really liked it - but it would probably be good with the Stampwheel polymer mat, like others on here have said. The only reason I'm keeping my Stamparatus is to stamp on 12x12 paper for scrapbooking, since it has no corners on it you can fit oversized sheets in it. However, the Stampwheel is a game changer for me. It is even easier to stamp now than with the Misti. For some reason the fact that you put the stamp straight down instead of folding the cover over like a book makes my stamping come out even better than before. So crisp and clear and great ink coverage. Even better, I don't need magnets or washi to hold my card fronts down, and I can easily peel up the card front without ripping it, unlike the sticky mats I was using before (which were fine, but I had to fold them over in order to release the paper, this is easier). I haven't even used my stamp wheel for stencils yet, but I am looking forward to trying that. I also love that I can put layering stamps on various positions on both sides of the top plate, so I don't have to move my paper to make a bunch of cards with layering stamps, I can just move the plate around. It's so great that I made a batch of about 10 cards this weekend in no time, I just couldn't stop myself from stamping the design over and over again. So happy with this purchase, I feel revitalized lol.

Thanks marg , for the great review. I better get mine before the Petunia shuts them down. Altenew’s is so different, I’m sure she’d lose any lawsuit against them. The Altenew platform is completely different from hers. If she has any brains at all, she will recognize that. I’m assuming she has already heard and is losing sleep over it. She must be furious that someone came up with a platform that is so different that she can’t claim infringement, and which is so much better than hers, too. It may very well become so popular that no one will even consider the M_______ in the stamp world anymore. If she is dumb enough to try to sue, I am pretty sure that Altenew would be able to counter sue and win penalties against her for harassment and trying to monopolize the market, since their product isn’t even remotely like hers. All the others were hinge based, like hers. Altenew’s platform is very different, is innovative, and unique. I don’t need another platform, but Altenew’s is tempting.

FYI for anyone thinking of trying the Altenew sticky mat in the Stamparatus. I ordered the low tack (ie "normal"/what ships with the Stampwheel) from SSS and received the ultra sticky version. I didn't quite realize that it wasn't what I ordered at first. Rather than returning it, I decided to try again at SB.C, where they did ship me the regular/low tack version. I believe I will be able to make use of both, but I haven't tried the low tack version.

I’ve wondered why Stampin Up didn’t tell Miss Flower to pound sand. I assume S.U. has more money for attorneys. Why cave?

I'm still not sure that they did. It's just a gut feel thing, but it seems to me that they're playing some sort of long game. Maybe withdraw from the market, let Stampwheel eat their lunch, and then argue that since sales of MISTI declined while Stamparatue was off the market, no damage/harm can be claimed? Something like that anyway....

The owner of SU has a daughter who is still under investigation in Florida, so they may have lots of lawyers fees they are paying right now. I am curious about the Stamp Wheel. I wish I still had a LSS to see one up close.

So…..you just stick down an Altenew sticky Stamparatus mat in your current stamp platform, whether it is the Stamparatus or Tim Holtz version, or whatever? I tend to use repositionable tape instead of magnets, but this sounds better. Part of me also wonders if I could just cut up one of my newer Nicapa mats and use it in either my TH or SU stamp platform. I would love to get the Altenew stamp tool, and probably will eventually, but it looks kind of big. I use my mini TH platform all the time. I use the SU platform for the Altenew multi-step stamps. Most of the time, though, I am just doing simple stamping. A tacky grid would be helpful in my current platform. I hate the magnets. They sometimes let the card stock move. I go through a lot of repositionable tape, which I use instead of the magnets.

They're marketed for helping to keep dies in place on your big shot plates, but they work great in stamp platforms. I've seen a couple of youtubers that use them - Natasha Foote is one of them. You can put the release paper back on it when you're not using it to keep off the dust. Matter of fact, if you've caved and bought the BetterPress, NancyStamps on youtube put a piece of sticky grid sheet on her top plate to stick her paper to and it works a lot better than holding down the corners with washi tape. I used to buy mine when Hobby Lobby had Sizzix for 40% off, but I don't think they carry any of that anymore. Scrapbook.com carries them, though. I should add - the grip mats would definitely work; it's just that the sticky grid sheets are less expensive and add no height to the platform.
