Your title is cool!! Really like it! Thanks! It was one of those pre made ones you can pick up at Michaels. Not sure where I got it, or what manufacturer. The original had a red & blue jersey. I extricated it, traced it onto orange cs, then fussy cut it after I had stenciled on some stripes.

Oh and if you have any of the PinkFresh papers and embellishments from their grab boxes, a lot of the items go really well with Flower Child, the new paper line by Jen H. I used both companies on the layout.

Awesome take on that sketch, pantsonfire ! And I see quite a few of the day one prompts there, too. So this is worth double points correct? Yes. Of course!

great take on the sketch and such a pretty layout - those papers and embellishments really do work well together pantsonfiregrammadee -that's awesome that you modified the pre-made title to be perfect for your layout! Another graduation page for me - also 2012 and also SG graduation PP and cutaparts - I love that there were so many colourways available.

Today is haircuts day so that took all morning. DH's barber retired without telling him, so we had to drive to the shop to see what was going on. There was just a note on the door. He's been going there for 20 years. We found another barber and DH got his cut. I got mine cut today also. I started 2 pages early this morning and hope to get them finished today. They won't meet the challenges, but they will be done. Thanks for setting this up grammadee. We have a DGS being married on Sat so will have family around all weekend. Probably won't get a lot of double points this time. Sorry, teammates. But I look forward to seeing my sisters and families.

Linda, I love your black and green papers on the graduation page. Perfect match for his gown and mortarboard. Congrats to him! ~ Great photos of your family on the double page graduation page. I love the “hats” paper and the green strips extending across both pages. Very pretty pages. pantsonfire, what a pretty page. I love the butterfly and the soft pastels. That design with the offset T shape is such a nice way to do this layout. grammadee, I love those soccer photos. My fave though is the photo of the proud family members at the bottom. Love left in the gallery.

Let's start with a Sketch. I loved the rays in this one. One tip from Paige Evans: when you are cutting rays, first cut your 12x12 paper in half (or any other portion, like cut off a third.) Then choose a point from which the rays will shoot out from, and use your trimmer to cut them. If you want to use scraps for your rays, you can cut a template and number the pieces. Then clip each numbered piece to a different scrap, use it to guide your cutting, and keep it together until you place your rays. you make this sound SO easy....I don't know if it's me or the 8.5x11 rectangle or what but I am super-struggling with this.

I tried with scraps for a 9x12 layout (technically it is like 9.5x12) and wasn't able to get it to work. So I found some sun ray paper and used that to back my photo. Just an option if you have something like that.

I am working on today's layout theme. Just need to do the title and journaling. Had to come up with something different since the rays weren't working out on my odd shaped layout (9x12). Need to pick up DS soon and then get him settled in with snack and sensory time then I can get back to the layout.

I will try a sketch of the rays. 1. On your pattern sheet, pick a point A where you want the rays to meet. I chose about where his smile would be in the photo. 2. Mark points B and C as the outer edges of your rays. Connect A with B and then with C. 3. With a ruler divide the space between B and C with lines from A to the edges of your paper. You can measure to make them all equal widths at the ends or go freeform. 4. Number the sections. Clip your pattern sheet over your pp with one clip for each section. Use your trimmer to cut the lines. OR clip a scrap behind section #1. Cut. Choose a different scrap for #2 and cut that, and so on. 5. Using your numbers arrange your rays. If you want space between them to show, you can trim the edges. If you like the look, you can overlap them. 6. Paige roughed the edges up in the video I saw. She also sometimes sews them down.

That ray page is amazing, Linda. Sweet photo. Love the papers you chose and how you used the sun. Are the rays of that sun BOOKS? And I love the overlapping banners as the mat for that sweet photo of little sister at the grad.

Tuesday evening, the temps were just above freezing and although it didn't technically rain, the air was damp. Today temps are supposed to be 20C. If it could stay at that temp always, I would be a happy camper! And if we could have LEMONS... so much the better! Seems like a drastic weather swing you got! Also took me a second to realize you were talking 20C and not 20F lol. My parents lemon tree makes the best lemons. Juicy and sweet and no seeds! I used a whole bag today for my dessert recipe. The tiramisu in the fridge setting. Hopefully tomorrow I will get a good picture and post it here for our virtual party 😜 and share a slice virtually.

pantsonfire we are probably in a similar area. I’m in SoCal, but my parents are in the Bay Area. I was visiting them this past weekend and the weather was rainy and cold. It’s been so hit or miss this year so far (mostly miss, since I like sunny weather).

Good evening and happy crop weekend everyone! I plan to go downstairs and scrap a bit but ~yawn~ the day has been full and I feel ready for bed at 8:30! I should make myself stay up until 9:30 anyways. Ah, adulthood, where we get to stay up as late as we want...
What time do other peas tend to hit the hay, and get up in the morning? Are you a night owl or an early bird? Has this changed since you were young?
Me - naturally a night owl. Or at least someone who hates getting up early!!! - work week - bed by 10:30 (playing games and watching videos in bed until after 11 tho) and up at 6:30. - weekend - bed by 11:00 and up about 8 - R&R holidays - bed at midnight and up about 9 - recent Disneyworld "holiday" - crash into bed ASAP and up between 5:20 and 6:15 depending on park hours...

Like in college I preferred morning classes over afternoon and night. Preferred to start work at opening. Never had an issue getting up for school.

What time do other peas tend to hit the hay, and get up in the morning? Are you a night owl or an early bird? Has this changed since you were young? Naturally a night owl but I haven't been sleeping well lately and have headed to bed between 930-1030 the past few nights. I try really hard to be in bed by midnight on school nights because the alarm goes off early and often but on non-school nights 1-2 am isn't unusual. When I was younger...I used to joke that I had only ever seen the sunrise on my way TO bed as I was never awake early enough to see it even in the winter. I worked graveyard shift for several years. Unfortunately a couple of decades of school buses coming between 530 and 7...has fixed that. Grateful the bus route recently changed and the bus comes just before 8 now and hoping that's a permanent change (or at least long enough for DD to graduate in 2 years).

Here is today's challenge. This went together faster than I thought it would. Thanks grammadee , it was fun to do. You Bring SunshineLinda , I love the red white and blue you used on Annabelle’s page. I really like how you used the banners as background. I have tried that design, but just can’t seem to make it look right. From looking at yours I can tell I didn’t overlap and layer enough. Great page. ~ Great job on the sunburst. I’m glad DH could help you with the angles. Such a sweet photo. I love photos of story time. Fun medallion that you made and added. Books! that's great!~ I really like the background you made on your horse page. Each square slightly different and yet so cohesive. Great photos too. Makes me want to make some small squares for background. grammadee , are the challenges just for fun or are there points for using the sketch, prompt, etc?

nylene - thank you! I love your challenge layout - what a lovely photo and the sunburst really draws the eye in to it! I love the butterfly wand also -just right! I'll tag you in the thread that explains the points for this weekend Another 2012 layout - I think this one meets the recipe - stripes, butterflies, green, handwriting, and torn edges

grammadee - Hope you are doing well. Thanks for coordinating this fun event. While I won't be scrapping this weekend, I appreciate the sketches & everyone's layouts & hope to participate in the discussions: What about scrapbooking, papercrafting, cardmaking brings light to YOUR life? My devoted craft room is flooded in natural light due to floor to ceiling windows during the day & OTT lights at night. Our only child (now in college) is my primary scrap subject, so I enjoy the memories as I s-l-o-w-l-y document his life. ... What time do other peas tend to hit the hay, and get up in the morning? Are you a night owl or an early bird? Has this changed since you were young? ... I've always been a "night owl." While I usually go to bed at 1:00-3:00a & reluctantly awake (via alarm) at 9:00a on weekdays, I can easily stay up all night.
