Using gloss paint on a ceiling is something that would never occur to me. Ever. And now that I’ve seen it, I know why.

I hate it, like living in a bottle of Gaviscon.

It’s not my style but it’s well done. It also looks like it’s listed about $100k under market, so the fact that most people will want to make changes is already baked into the price.

I agree with a couple of you who said it was well done. The colours worked together, weren’t crazily clashing….maybe a little heavy on the pink but if you love colours then I can see that being fun to live in. monklady123 - that hall and stairs are one of my favourite bits 😁

The color isn't my thing but there are some things about the house I like. What I can't get over is the price. I lived a few blocks from there from 1994-96 and we used to jokingly call the area "Slumerville" -- it was a pretty low-cost area and accessible to those of us who were grad students living on Top Ramen budgets. I can't wrap my head around that price for a not-huge house there. It must have gentrified quite a bit! I work with lots of people who live in Somerville. That price tag belongs on a three family house with plenty of off street parking. Prices have gone up but not that much. Seriously. I couldn’t live there but would enjoy visiting. If I had nothing better to do I would go tour it but I’m not up for going to Somerville. 😊

Oh my... I truly feel like this is Barbie's dream home. Edited: And the price tag?? WTH? These realtors must think LONG and hard to come up with these descriptions... It's Massachusetts, the real estate is extremely expensive here.

I’ll give them credit for commitment to a theme.
I could not make it my home. While I might enjoy staying there periodically, my day to day life requires more clean lines and calming colors than that. It’s simply too much of everything for me.
And a big no to that high gloss paint.

The decorating is too garish for my taste, but the layout of the house is awesome. All I would need is thousands of dollars worth of paint and I'd be happy living there.

I like that they balanced all of the house (walls, floor, ceiling, trim, etc) colors with white or neutral, no patterns furniture. It makes it easier to accept all of the colors!

The whole house apart from the one bedroom (pic 15) made me feel . Yes, lol. That one bedroom that you mentioned was the only one I liked. I do love color, but just not quite so much of it. lol. More as an accent, like maybe chairs or couch cushions, or even one wall. But not the entire house.

The house is very much in the style of "Happy to be Home with the Benkos" link They are based in Summerville, South Carolina. Here is another article about the show: link I noticed at the end of the article there is a mention that the author lives in Massachusetts. I'm wondering if there is a connection.

Thanks bbkeef! No. Just, no. That ramps up my anxiety just looking at it. My eyes (and brain) need a lot of white space, that often comes from the walls and doors. There is no place for my eyes to relax in that house except the blue bedroom.
