I ended up making dividers for my stamp bins and die bins because I just couldn't find the size I needed (5.5 x 10). I made them from cardstock and a layer of laminating (essentially contact paper) sheets. Now that I've completed the task I have a stack of 9 x 12 release paper (backing for the laminating sheets). For some reason I have a niggling feeling in the back of my head that I need to hang onto them for some technique(s).
Do I? Or am I making this up? Thanks a bunch!

I like using Nuvo drops on cards but don’t like waiting for them to dry. I do a bunch in different colors and sizes on a sheet of release paper and keep it in a plastic sleeve. I can pop off what I want and glue them down.

I use my Tombow liquid glue ( the green bottle). I take a sheet of release paper and put dots of the glue on them in rows and then when I make envelopes I can peel a dot or two off and use it to seal the envelope. It stays tacky so you can open and close several times without losing the stick. I also use the sheets with my diamond art.

You can also use them for watercoloring!
Smoosh your Distress Oxide ink on the release paper and spritz with a little bit of water. Didn't we do that for one of the card classes last fall?
Of course, if you throw them away, you're going to need them for something soon!

Thank you, thank you! Glad to know I wasn’t totally making it up. I’m going to try the Nuvo drops thing. I’ve yet to perfect making drops (i end up with “nipples” on them), so I’ll get lots of practice!

I heard that if you warm up the Nuvo bottle ...holding it under your armpits, sit on it, in your bra or on a sunny spot...will give you better drops and less 'nipples'. I haven't tried it yet , can't tell you if it works or not

One of the Fodder School 2 mixed media classes is on making your own washi tapes.
You buy different kinds of regular tapes, masking, paper ones, etc. and stick them down on release paper to do mixed media things to. Paint washes, mark making, stamp on them. Then you can peel them off and use on projects.

One Youtuber I watched used the release paper as a place to collect stickers from various collections she wanted to use on a particular project. Pulled the ones she wanted; tacked them onto the release paper; put the sticker sheet away and grabbed another one. Another one used the release paper to hold pieces that were already backed with sticky backed foam. Same idea.
I often use wax paper as a mat for working with mixed media. If it gets messy I can just throw it away. Release paper would work for that too.

I think it was Gina K in the last CCD class that showed how she puts strips of foam tape on release paper to make it easier to cut into smaller pieces.

I have a lot of release paper, Sometimes I use 2X tape and I cut a strip off and save the rest. I have a regular file folder to keep extras in.

I just got a new washi roll from pinkfresh and I was playing with it for a few minutes this morningbeforegoingtowork. And I got this idea. You can use the release paper to put down a stripe of washi and die cut it. Now you have homemade stickers. You can add them on envelopes, inside the card etc.

I recently succumbed and added Tuberoses to my stash <3 I've been wondering (in general) if PF washi girls would be interested in trading...

I only have 2: painted Peonies and joyful Bouquet...they are the same coloring so easy to mix and match. I already had the stamp/die/stencil set just needed the washi. And I have the fruit one from the spring event.

... I’m going to try the Nuvo drops thing. I’ve yet to perfect making drops (i end up with “nipples” on them), so I’ll get lots of practice! While I purchase enamel dots (since I exclusively scrapbook & the Nuvo/homemade drops flatten/dent/etc on layouts stored in an album), the key to "perfect" drops is the same as in cake decorating: stop squeezing before lifting! Holding the bottle perpendicular-ish to the surface, squeeze the bottle to create the ideal sized drop, STOP SQUEEZING to stop the flow of product, then lift the bottle & (optional) tap the underside of the paper to speed up the product self-leveling process. HTH

I heard another use for release paper in a video the other day. For sticky stencils - when using Pixie Spray some people use release paper between them or behind them in storage so they don't have to wash and re-spray.
Practicing making enamel dots on release paper or wax paper definitely helps, even if you never use the dots you made. You get the muscle memory down after doing a few dozen of each color. Some people do a little circular movement as they stop squeezing and lift the bottle. But I suspect that climate and temperature might influence how they work, as well as technique. I also found that storing cards in plastic sleeves for a while will flatten Nuvo drop dots, at least in my experience. I store the cards standing up so there's very little pressure from other cards but they seem to flatten out anyway.
