It was a mistake to pardon Nixon because it gave us trump. Didn’t Ford say he regretted it? I thought I read that somewhere.

When are these politicians going to learn that in these modern times there will always be a video of one’s comments. Even comments they may have made a decade or so.

The wonderful world of Texas politics... Legislature has been busy..
"These bills are not about election reform," said Hidalgo at a press conference last week, as the legislation was advancing. "They're not about improving voters' experience. They are entirely about suppressing voters' voices. The reasoning behind these bills is nothing but a cynical charade."

Oh for heaven sake’s. Now this fool is buying into the notion that it’s ok to send/force kids out into the workplace. I think it’s two states that are in the process of or have done rolling back child labor laws.
I’m all for kids doing chores around the house and getting paid for it. But that is entirely different then sending kids to work in meat packing plants. Isn’t that where they found some kids working not too long ago?

Why is it that every single time the media mentions this person they put the word “disgraced” in front of her name?
Yes she committed a crime and will spend the next 11 years in jail.
But why can’t they just print her name without labeling it? It’s not just her as the media does labeling like this all the time. Why?

My thinking is the Republicans would have children do jobs nobody else wants rather then letting migrants do them. And that is poor kids.
Just when you think the current crop of Republicans have bottomed out they prove they can go even lower.

So if they do this does that mean everything comes to a halt? Or could they still vote of the debt ceiling? Hoping to get past that so it can go to the senate and we can breathe a little easier.

This guy is taking it as an insult because he has three days to read the 100 page bill. 🤡 Well, if we can’t have term limits or age limits then perhaps we should have only people who can read OR have read to them a 100 pages in 3 days. There has to be some sort of basic competency for the job. 100 pages is not that difficult especially when it is part of your JOB! I can read that after work in 3 days they ought to be able to manage it as part of their job.

And we thought TFG had no empathy... DeSantis wins... Memorial Day mass shooting 20 miles north of Miami left nine people, including children as young as one, wounded, yet Governor Ron DeSantis hasn't said a word about it publicly, leading many on social media to blast the Florida Republican who for months has been highly-focused on his presidential campaign. "Nine people were wounded Monday evening when gunfire erupted along a beachside promenade in Hollywood, Florida, sending people frantically running for cover along the crowded beach on Memorial Day," CBS News reports. "The shooting happened on the Hollywood Oceanfront Broadwalk near a convenience store, a Ben & Jerry's ice cream store and a Subway sandwich shop." Police continue to search for "two people they believe were involved in the shooting. The department released the surveillance video alongside still images of the individuals and asked that anyone who recognizes them contact police." "Several children were among those injured. Police spokesperson Deanna Bettineschi said four children between the ages of 1 and 17 were hit, along with five adults between 25 and 65," CBS News adds. Governor DeSantis, who is hosting a major event in Iowa Tuesday, has not said a word on his Twitter accounts, has not posted a statement on his government website, and it does not appear he has spoken to reporters about the mass shooting. The governor's official press secretary did, however, take time to attack California's Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom, who noted on social media that DeSantis recently signed a permit less carry bill into law, which will further expand the number of guns on the streets. "California Gov. Gavin Newsom was fact-checked by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' spokesman after he blamed the Memorial Day shooting in Hollywood, Florida, on laws DeSantis signed that are not yet in effect," Fox News reported. "Newsom reacted to reports of the shooting on social media, blaming gun violence on a bill DeSantis signed in April that eliminates the requirement for an individual to obtain a permit to carry a concealed firearm." DeSantis' government spokesperson Jeremy Redfern, on what he says is his "personal" Twitter account, tweeted: "Hi Gavin, How does a law that doesn’t take effect until July 1st change this outcome?" But Governor Newsom's remarks are entirely factual. "DeSantis signed a permit-less carry bill in April that removes requirements for: -background checks -instruction -training+oversight Until our leaders have the courage to stop bowing down to the NRA and enact common sense gun safety this kind of senseless violence will continue," he wrote via Twitter. Meanwhile, many on social media are blasting DeSantis for ignoring the mass shooting. "9 people were shot in Hollywood, Florida and it sure as hell wasn’t by Drag Queens," one social media user wrote, referring to DeSantis' attacks on drag queens and the the LGBTQ community, and making clear drag queens aren't a danger. "Ron DeSantis had laws changed so he could stay Governor AND run for POTUS," another social media user said, accurately. "MEANWHILE he ignores what is happening in Florida. He hasn't said ONE WORD about this mass shooting (a 1 year old got shot) in HIS STATE this weekend. Ron, I think you should leave." In response to a news report on the shooting, another user simply said, "Thank you Ron DeSantis." "To all the Ron DeSantis supporters out there. 9 people were just shot and not one word from your precious governor," wrote another on Twitter. www.rawstory.com/sure-wasnt-by-drag-queens-desantis-slammed-for-ignoring-florida-mass-shooting-that-included-children/

This guy is taking it as an insult because he has three days to read the 100 page bill. 🤡 So Rep Lieu has that e answer.. Following this exchange, Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) took to Twitter to mock his colleague's complaint that reading a 99-page bill in three days is just too burdensome a task for him.
"Let’s do some math," wrote Lieu. "If GOP Rep Ralph Norman works 8 hours a day, that’s 24 hours over 3 days to read 99 pages. That comes out to reading a little over 4 pages every hour. And these are double spaced text pages."
"Alternatively, he can have AI summarize the bill for him in 1 min," Lieu added.
Norman, who faced national controversy after leaked text messages revealed he begged the Trump administration to declare "Marshall [sic] law" to prevent President Joe Biden from taking office after the 2020 election, appears to have already made up his mind against the bill he says he doesn't have time to read, proclaiming, "The two factions that are supporting this bill [are] China, because they're just buying more debt to control America, and the Biden administration, which, as the hearings are showing, is corrupt and compromised to China. Somewhere, somebody has got to stop it."

Any ‘smart’ appliance can theoretically be hacked, which means any smart device could be used to spy on you, IF hacked. Including the smart devices we all walk around with in our pockets. That’s why certain govt offices ban cel phones. Wether or not it ‘is’ spying on you probably depends on what your doing. Just be aware. You know, don’t plan criminal activities near any smart devices. Trump went on & on & on about how ‘they’ listened to him from his microwave when he was in office. I’m sure if his devices had been hacked the tapes would be leaked by now
