How often do you use florals in your layouts? They seem to appear in every darn collection. They date way back to the Prima flower craze and before. They are probably the most used icon in scrapping. But how often do you really use them?
I looked at my last 18 layouts- the ones laying around and not in albums yet. I have 5 layouts with flowers. Two Paige Evans ones, a 49 & Market one, a Pinkfresh one, and one with the new Jen Hadfield Flower Child line.
I was actually surprised that I used flowers that many times.
Do you love florals? Avoid them like the plague?

floral paper or floral/flower embellishments?
Looking at my last 10 layouts...
I have one with a layered die cut flower I cut and one with little felt flowers from HL. I have to go back more than 20 layouts to find a floral PP. Now that's in part because I've mostly been scrapping October pictures but flowers aren't really my go-to for layouts
I do use them more on cards

Not very often... I don't go out of my way to buy floral paper but I have somehow acquired a lot, and need to start using it.

Not very often. I did some wedding layouts and got them in there though. So many papers have them that they are hard to avoid.

Not very often. I have a son and if I'm scrapping about him I'm likely not using floral paper. I do use them when I'm scrapping about myself or my friends.

They make it onto my pages fairly regularly--I would say it's most often because the size and shape of the floral embellishment happens to be what I need for the layout, and less that the layout actually has to do with flowers. I also use leaves. Anything that is outside is fair game for florals or leaves. I tend not to do too many that are super floral heavy, but there might be a flower element here and there.

I love cardstock and dimensional flowers and use them often. I loved those Prima fancy flowers and miss them. I used them a lot on my cards.

I rarely use florals. Which is odd because I love other people’s layouts done with florals. It’s probably the #1 style of PP that I buy. I even sort them by nicknames like “Liberty of London,” “Transfer Printed Ceramics,” “ William Morris,” “Mid Century Modern,” “Martha’s Vineyard gardens”

some think that florals are overdone but i think it's a really flexible accent to any page. it can be done in a variety of styles, colors and finishes. it's a great central piece, accent piece, or background. florals and leaves can be great fillers on a layout. i don't use them on pages as much anymore but now that i'm trying to do more cardmaking, i'm using the florals there.

I love florals, they are my favourite embellishments and my favourite patterned papers. I just checked my most recent 50 layouts, and I used florals on 25 pages - exactly half of my layouts. I'm actually surprised that it's not a higher number. I have done more layouts of my son than usual, and a few birthday layouts that don't have flowers, which explains why it was 'only' half of my layouts.

I love florals. I used them on 8 out of 10 of my most recent layouts and I'd say that's typical for me. I use floral paper, floral embellishments, fussy cut paper, and florals cut on my Silhouette. I have a hard time scrapping without florals and hearts.

I really only use flat, two dimensional flower die cuts. I pretty much never use the prima 3D ones, especially when scrapbooking.

I use them a lot. I looked at the last 20 layouts in my flickr gallery and was surprised only just over half of them had florals, although like AussieMeg I've been scrapping themes where I try to choose non-floral embellishments. I often find that when a page is just not working for me, florals will fix it. I really love the non-linear shapes, they're perfect for filling in odd little gaps or creating movement on my pages.

I am all about the florals. I use them on all kinds of pages. Both in pattern paper and embellishments. I do not use 3d flowers that often. But I still love them. They often are the perfect little touch for a layout.

How often? Almost every single LO. Sometimes I try doing a LO without, but they sneak onto it anyway. LOL
I do not use Prima, or any other brand dimensional flowers, just die cuts or stamps.

Not very often. I have a son and if I'm scrapping about him I'm likely not using floral paper. Two of my pages with flower paper are of little boys. The Paige Evans papers are so bright that they seem kid-ish to me. Both of the photos are outside photos, so on goes the floral paper. I have 3 nephews and no nieces so flowers do sometimes sneak onto my boy pages because I have so much flowered paper in my stash. Why do I keep buying it? I only have boys to scrap. But it is so pretty!

I love florals. I'm a sucker for a floral paper with a coordinated B side. I'll often use the B-side and fussy cut flowers for a layout or card. PS, Thank you artbabe for a bunch of fun threads! Do you have the summer off? I hope so!

Very rarely. I don't gravitate toward florals or consider them a default embellishment.

I love florals! I can't raise or grow them but I love to wear them, decorate with them... you name it! My great room is wallpapered in giant ivory peonies.
Almost every page I scrap has a butterfly on it as a sort of signature that I created the page but my pages are featuring less florals now that both of my kids are getting older and neither of them is a "flower-y" person. If it's outside photos or I'm scrapping myself or I'm scrapping my fiance & me, probably will. If not, maybe not.

PS, Thank you artbabe for a bunch of fun threads! Do you have the summer off? I hope so! Yep- I'm a school teacher. And my routine right now is to check the board every morning while I drink my coffee. And I need new reading material. I try to find more scrapbook related content but Scrapbook.com isn't doing it for me and I don't know where else to look for scrap chat. At the moment I have an annoying cold so I think it is going to be a "stay in and scrapbook" kind of day.

My grandson is going home for the summer, so I hope to have at least one day per week to have a scrapbook day.

Intentionally--almost never unless the story happens to include something about flowers. However, if an embellishment happens to include flowers with something I want to include (which happens a lot with various die cuts) I will use the die cut while grumbling about (possibly unnecessary) flowers.

I love florals- but my “style” of florals only- not the fussy old fashioned kind (in my mind). I like a colorful, playful floral. I wish I was home to count how many recent layouts had some floral embellishment (I’m on vacation- if I remember I’ll update when I get back). What I like about florals is the incorporation of multiple colors that help me tie my layout together and it’s usually a more casual flowing look compared to say a plaid also incorporating multiple colors. The floral to me is just more casual and playful.

Well with 2 little granddaughters I use florals a whole lot. I love 49 and Market, Mintay, Stamperia, Asuko, so these often come with florals. I love vintage florals and botanicals. I also love Christmas florals.

Not too often. I really struggle with using florals. I think they are pretty, just hard for me to use.

My stash of floral paper is crazy! I looked at the stack of current layouts and very little floral used.

I rarely use florals. I'm not great at getting them to work unless they are small in scale like those tiny prima flowers that were popular years ago. Or a pattern paper or diecut on a small scale.

Nope. Not a fan. There are a few florals that are ok, but I generally avoid. Except for Christmas - I do like poinsettias in those collections, but still don’t go overboard. I also don’t really decorate with floral prints or patterns in my house either.
I appreciate that more companies are offering a separate floral pack, both for those who love them and can buy extras and for those who don’t and can avoid them while still enjoying the rest of the collection.
