Thanks everyone! I think the skin pain, headache. , and GI distress at the beginning was the worst part. The rash is painless and not itchy. I’m really just totally fatigued.
I can post photos of my rash — they aren’t gross at all — should anyone wish to see, as it might be informative.

But seeing as we are guessing, I'm going to toss West Nile Virus into the ring. I just returned home from the ER and have been diagnosed with West Nile What do I win? I'm not a doctor but I like to play one on the internet! But seriously, symptoms like that should be seen by a real doctor after they didn't get significantly better after a day or two, even though there isn't much that can be done for West Nile, it could have been one of the much more serious bacterial or viral illnesses especially with that headache. Hope you feel better soon.

It was kinda funny—- after I got home from the hospital one of the first social media posts I saw was from regional health saying West Nile has been detected in mosquitos here. I think they should hire me as an early warning system. Btw, I’ve only had three or four bites this year, I use mosquito repellent systems (thermacell) when we are outside.

I doubt I’ve been bitten by a tick — it’s certainly always possible but I haven’t been anywhere other than my urban garden and my camper which has very very short grass. I googled most of the common red rash related diseases when it first popped up — no lesions on my soles, palms, mouth, nothing open or weepy, they aren’t clustered. None of the typical google image results looked like what I have. Tbh this all came after a very stressful episode of camper renovations, I have a lot of food sensitivities that cause all sorts of what seems like random GI distresses, it’s been weird weather and it’s not uncommon for me to have persistent migraines. So I thought most of the symptoms were just regular old weird me. The rash started days after the body pain stopped. It wasn’t until I woke up with it that I thought maybe some of the other symptoms were not just weird me. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) . Happy to hear you have been seen and diagnosed! In your shoes, I would have done the same. When you are accustomed to chronic illnesses, it is so hard to determine if this is something that needs attention or your body behaving as your body does. One of my coworkers has an entirely different autoimmune disease. Comparing notes and we are both effected by the weather changes. Human barometers. Piercings are indicators of how badly our bodies are inflamed. That one has been a shocking revelation. The IBS and gluten intolerance… It all leads to not jumping to immediate doctor’s appointments, because this is most likely x,y,z. Hope you are feeling better from the West Nile soon and it doesn’t further complicate your normal issues in any way.

I think if you were to dial 911, you would go directly to an emergency room bed. If you are weak, the term is physically impaired to drive. If you have someone drive you to the emergency room, you would have the pleasure of sitting in a waiting room for an hour or so, with other sick folks. Or you could drink some Lysol, as a former President suggested.

Hope you are feeling better from the West Nile soon and it doesn’t further complicate your normal issues in any way. Sorry for the massive quote — editing on my phone is not within my skill set today. Chronic illness really does complicate life. My ex husband came by when I was very first sick, he walked into the house and said I looked awful and asked if I was ok. I saw him again yesterday and told him about how I had WNV that last time but didn’t know it. He asked about my symptoms and when I told him about the first few days (relentless headache that I thought was a weird migraine, diarrhea and vomiting) he said — but that’s just YOU!! lol. The silver lining is that the ER doctor totally understood the chronic digestive issues being a complication and gave me referrals for some academic GI illness clinics to check out. He was a lot more supportive than other doctors I’ve tried seeing (the last one concluded “figure out what makes you sick and don’t eat it”. Thank you so much for the kind words of recovery. I’m just easily fatigued. It’s a lot like the covid related fatigue.

The ER's use a triage system and this isn't a critical medical. The wait would be at least 4 hours, if not longer. In Canada, we don't really care what your former President suggests. He is an idiot. ashley ~~ I'm glad that you had a decent ER Doctor. There are a few very good ER doctors in our hospital rotation. Hope that you feel better very soon.

I'm glad you got a diagnosis. Like Covid, every person who gets West Nile reacts differently. My cousin is immunocompromised and got West Nile. When he is exhausted he has seizures. He was told it is a very rare side effect. Just try not to overdo it, if you can.

First of all, I'm sorry you're feeling like crap Ashley. I, too, understand the chronic illness piece and trying to figure things out on my own because docs have often been of zero help. I really appreciate your sharing the pix and the details of your symptoms, and hope you get your energy back very soon. xo

Always with the aggressive anti-American sentiment. Let it go, Elsa. Show me on this doll where America hurt you. I'll allow you the requisite time for you to get back from your over-the-border shopping trips before you respond. And yes, we have triage here in American ERs and no this doesn't really meet immediate ER "bedded" criteria. Waiting room at best.
