MSNBC Mark Meadows has filed to have his case moved to DC. His lawyer says he was doing his job as Chief of Staff... Nothing criminal..
Or he was just following orders..
Rolling eyes at them all. ..

I have been having a bit of enjoyment watching all the variations on "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" that are on tiktok today. There are some very creative, funny and quick witted people.
That said, I notice a distinct lack of response from our conservative Refupeas. Why the crickets?

They're also too busy complaining about important things like where Biden is taking vacation, how and when Biden commented on the tragedy in Hawaii. Not complaining about the actions or steps he took, just complaining that he didn't answer questions on their approved timeline. And Hunter Biden, of course. They're hyper-focused on Hunter.

This lays out the indictment in detail and the steps that all of the defendants took to overturn the results of the election and keep Trump in power. Too long to post here, but the link has all of the details. www.meidastouch.com/news/geogia-trump-indictmentIn the Trump RICO indictment, he is charged with organizing a criminal conspiracy to attempt to overturn the 2020 election. His co-defendants are charged with joining that conspiracy and committing unlawful acts to accomplish the goal. These acts included false statements and perjury, impersonating public officials, forgery, filing false documents, computer theft and hacking, fraud, theft of documents, and tampering with witnesses.
The bottom line is that the proof in this case is overwhelming. The fact that this trial is going to be public and televised will be extremely valuable. The American public can see and hear and all facts, and don't have to rely on media filters. The evidence in this case is devastating for Trump and his co-conspirators. I fully expect many of them to cut deals to testify against Trump, where even more incriminating evidence will come to light.

Another brilliant legal opinion from a Trump attorney on Newsmax. Here's a critical detail that she missed - he is no longer president. www.meidastouch.com/news/bobb-trump-immunityTrump attorney, former OAN host, and RSBN interviewer Christina Bobb offered more brilliant legal analysis on Newsmax tonight, claiming that Trump would easily get the Georgia case thrown out because he has "presidential immunity" for his crimes.

A Republican perspective on Trump's indictment www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/08/15/geoff-duncan-trump-georgia-indictment-turning-point/On Monday morning, my son alerted me that Donald Trump had just misspelled my name on his latest scorched-earth post on social media. The former president urged me not to testify before the Fulton County grand jury in the state’s 2020 election probe. He lobbed some insults my way, and then, in classic Trump fashion, misspelled my name. Ironically, he seems to have conflated me with Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.), a reliable Trump ally and member of the House Freedom Caucus.
For the Republican Party, and myself, the playbook was familiar. In the aftermath of the 2020 election, I earned Trump’s wrath for refusing to go along with his cockamamie schemes to overturn the election he lost because of his own lack of effort. Most of the GOP in my home state of Georgia went along for Trump’s now potentially felonious ride.
Now, that bill is coming due — not just for Trump and the 18 others who received indictments Monday night, but for Republicans everywhere.
Wherever one falls on the ideological spectrum, it is sad to see the presidency of the United States reduced to such a circus. Rather than history repeating itself on an endless loop, I am hopeful that this latest chapter can be a pivot point for the Republican Party. If it’s not, we only have ourselves to blame for our electoral losses.

Because I wasn’t clear with my January 6th predictions and instead just left the country let me be really clear this time for I told you so sake…
Black Women are always tasked with cleaning shit up. But whenever it’s time to give a dark skinned woman an opportunity to ACTUALLY lead we instead elect a man whose brain is FOR SURE mush. Georgia is really showing us this. Again.

From medias touch DOJ has always had a rule that a sitting president can't be prosecuted. That doesn't mean it can't be done, it is just that DOJ has determined that it will not be done while a president is in office.
However, that does not mean that a president can't be prosecuted after leaving office, or even that a president could not be prosecuted while in office by a state. Certainly, it does not mean that a president enjoys total immunity from prosecution from any criminal act he commits while in office.
One of the biggest problems for Trump is that he surrounds himself with people like Bobb and takes their advice over people who actually know what they are talking about. Trump always chooses to follow the advice of people who tell him exactly what he wants to hear, not what he needs to hear.

Really good points about the purpose of Trump's posts on social media railing about witch hunts, weaponization, Hunter, 2 tiered justice etc. This is just the conclusion, there's a lot more at the link thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/trump-indictments-defenses-election-interferenceIt’s important to recognize that none of the above arguments— politically motivated witch hunt, election interference, Hunter Biden distriction, Hillary’s emails—are ever going to see the light of day in court. They simply aren’t relevant to the charges leveled against him.
So why does Trump spend so much time publicly attacking the investigations and the prosecutions, even at high risk of making serious admissions against his own interest, if these aren’t going to be part of his actual defense?
For starters, Trump believes the only way out of his legal predicament is to win the election. And to do that, he has to win in the court of public opinion. If he can outrun the indictments (at least the federal ones) and pull off an election victory, he can make the federal charges go away, or so he believes.
Further, Trump knows that any potential jury, especially for his federal case in Miami, will draw from heavily red-state voter country. His efforts to portray the charges as a politically-driven witch hunt designed to deny him the presidency, while giving his political enemies a pass, might resonate strongly enough to infect the likely jury pool.
Finally, and this is less often acknowledged, Trump uses social media as a way to enforce and amplify the messaging he wants his underlings and allies in Congress to parrot. Farther down the chain, it also helps telegraph to would-be witnesses what story Trump wants them to tell if and when they speak to investigators or testify before the grand jury.
In short it’s all very modern-day mob boss in nature. Trump doesn’t really have very many good defenses that he can actually use in court successfully, just as we saw in the E. Jean Carroll case. The only way he can beat this is to win back the White House and use the powers of that office to drop the charges or even undo the convictions.
Voters need to see his missives, then, for what they are: a way to stand above the law, once again, and be unaccountable to anyone. The law will soon do its part to show Trump cannot succeed, but it’s up to us voters to do the rest.

We need strong hope that the courts do their job!
The problem still exists that his words do motivate his followers to take actions at our expense. They may not be able to be stopped if he is allowed to continue for too long.

One of my FB friends from high school just posted they were embarrassed because they still had their third indictment decorations still up.
I really liked the comment because at least half or more of my high school FB friends (who have public opinions on politics) are pro Trump.

Gingrich et al are busy attempting to change the Georgia Constitution Pardon laws to make it possible to pardon TFG before he even goes to trial. Guess they assume he is guilty!! After a fourth indictment was handed down on Monday night, legal analysts began explaining how the former president can't be pardoned if he is found guilty. Only governors can pardon state charges but, in Georgia, not even that is possible. *** "Dastardly Stalinist Democrats have made it illegal to watch television, leading the country 'towards the greatest constitutional crisis since the 1850s or a potential 'civil war' unless Georgia’s legislature overhauls state law to allow a future president to pardon Donald Trump," was the Daily Beast summarizing of what conservative commentators were saying. “Stalin would be proud” raged Fox host Mark Levine on Monday. Levine was among the Fox hosts that were exchanging emails with John Eastman, who is also charged with Trump. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich told Fox that, “We are drifting towards the greatest constitutional crisis since the 1850s,” and the charges against Trump are, “A desperate last ditch effort by a corrupt machine to destroy their most dangerous opponent.” Other allies are repeating one of his defenses – that he has a First Amendment right to say whatever he wants to lawmakers about changing election results. Liz Wheeler, who previously worked at One America News Network, complained, “Apparently illegal in America now: Telling people to watch TV, Asking for phone numbers, Renting rooms at the Capitol, Advocating for signature verification, and Tweets.” “It’s not just Trump they’re coming after,” Wheeler wrote. “They’re coming next for our free speech if we dare dissent.” But it was Fox guests Mike Davis and Gingrich that began advocating for lawmakers to step in to grant Trump a pardon, apparently already presuming a conviction is coming. “I think this is so dangerous to the very survival of the republic that it has to be stopped,” Gingrich said. “Under the Georgia law, there is a statute that limits the Republican governor’s ability to pardon, and I think that the legislature in Georgia needs to amend that statute and give Governor Kemp the ability to pardon in this situation because this is clear election interference,” Davis said. “It is clear Democrat lawfare by Democrat prosecutors where they are trying to have Democrat prosecutors, Democrat judges and Democrat juries and Democrat hellholes decide the next presidential election instead of the American people," he also said. www.rawstory.com/trump-pardon-in-georgia/Also MTG is openly speculating about VP... Or maybe going for US Senate..

I read the entire piece. Not that I don’t acknowledge Geoff Duncan’s resistance, but he also failed to acknowledge that it was HIS PARTY that nominated Trump and sicced him onto this country. That’s how we ended up with this mess and our democracy on the line. His piece is centered on his party’s losses and how these indictments will further adversely affect their electoral chances. No shit, Sherlock, and cry me a river. From the very beginning, what did his party think would happen when you put a man of extremely poor character, known for his avarice and dishonesty, into the White House? Nary a mention of how thereafter his party allowed Trump to have a stranglehold over them resulting in irrevocable and severe damage to an entire nation. Maybe that’s what Republicans like him ought to think about next time—the country, not just their party.

Serious threats have started... News and MSNBC are reporting that fans of Trump are posting online the addresses of grand jury members whose names were included in the indictment. The grand juror's purported addresses were spotted by Advance Democracy, Inc., a non-partisan research group founded by Daniel J. Jones, a former FBI investigator and staffer for the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence," said the report. Most social media sites have strict rules against doxing, so they are likely cropping up on anonymous message boards, but NBC noted that the network wouldn't reveal where the addresses are being posted.*** These jurors have signed their death warrant by falsely indicting President Trump," one post said on a pro-Trump forum, according to NBC News. www.rawstory.com/trump-jury-2663956110/

He has not paid his lawyers... Donald Trump's legal advisers listed as unidentified co-conspirators in United States Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith's criminal indictment for the alleged conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election were never paid "despite the fact that their lawsuits and false claims of election interference helped the Trump campaign and allied committees raise $250 million in the weeks following the November vote," CNBC's Brian Schwartz reports. "Trump has a long history of not paying his bills," Schwarts writes, noting one of the people that he "stiffed" was Rudy Giuliani, the ex-New York City mayor who was Trump's personal defense counsel and a long-time personal friend. "Trump and Giuliani had a handshake agreement that Giuliani and his team would get paid by the Trump political operation for their post-election work, according to Timothy Parlatore, an attorney for longtime Giuliani ally Bernard Kerik," Schwartz says. "But the Trump campaign and their affiliated committees ultimately did not honor that pledge, according to campaign finance records. The failure to pay Giuliani and his team came up last week in a private interview between prosecutors on special counsel Jack Smith's team and Bernard Kerik, a member of Giuliani's team in late 2020, according to Parlatore." www.rawstory.com/trump-doesnt-pay-his-bills/

Five-year minimum prison time? Lol. They’d be awfully stupid if they’re willing to gamble for Trump. They plead to the lesser charge, agree to testify for the prosecution, they might just get probation. If I had been one of them, I would have hightailed it to the DA’s office the moment it opened the following morning.
