It seems very quiet on the boards this weekend! Is everyone out doing something fun? I hope so. I need to read for my book group meeting on Tuesday, but I really want to make fall cards instead. I was even dreaming about fall cards this morning. Maybe I shouldn't have been shopping at scrapbook dot com cart at bedtime last night! Or maybe I should've finished and hit BUY.

Once again I haven't been finding much scrappy time - and haven't scrapped all month except for the online crops really. Sure hoping someone hosts a mid-week crop again ( grammadee? mom?) so I can catch back up on sketches. I'm going to have to find time to prepare my Wed sketch though. I haven't even counted points yet I’m on vacation this week but will be hosting one as soon as I’m back! I’ve got to get some scrappy time in asap!

I need to count my points for September. I’ve only done 2 of the sketches, but I’ve saved them so I’m hoping to do a few more. I’ve done mostly pocket pages this month. Unfortunately the last couple weeks my desk has become a dumping ground so I need to clean it before I get back to scrapping.

I have not finished counting mine. I didn't come close to finishing all the sketches this year, but did enough that I feel ok about it. I just need to find time to total the points.

I completed Sketchtember this morning so earnt those bonus points! You are amazing Linda ! Did you all see her point total for September alone? For the rest of us... we have until Oct. 8 if you are trying for the bonus of accomplishing *all* the sketches, AND We can still use the sketches and score the points for them until the end of the quarter! I have them printed and ready, and my goal is to use all of them by the end of December. When scoring team points, we can add a "check mark" to our list for every sketch, and every twist we try. Then those will count towards the check-mark bonus. I've just returned home after a small trip - I went cycling with my cousin: 150 km, 3 days. Not a hard ride (except for a 14km hill. Can't like that) and the fall colours in Quebec were gorgeous. My cousin is also a scrapbooker, but hasn't done any in several years. She is talking about getting back into it. Didn't want to scare her off, so I'm going to prod her...gently...gradually.

welcome back from your trip - sounds like fun (for you - it would not be fun for me) and I'm envious of the fall colours.
As for the points - the sketchtember and challenge bonuses really add up!

Hopefully nobody's posting because we're all busy crafting!
I have the holiday today and just sort of couldn't stand fall anymore. I still need to figure out (and make, of course) my last CARDtober challenge, and those will be the last two of my cards for the quarterly exchange. Once that's done, all the fall things can go away and it will be all Christmas!

Looking forward to seeing all the Christmas cards ShaktiI'm grateful to mom for doing the online crops during the week - I'm making good progress with finishing up the 2008 album - I just need to finish up October and it'll be done. I'm hoping that'll happen this week in between cleaning the house and baking in preparation for DD23 visiting - she arrives Saturday and stays through the 28th. DH has eye surgery this Thursday so it'll be a busy week.

I’ve already started Christmas— I attended virtual holiday cardmaking events from Pinkfresh and Altenew and shared the cards in the event threads.
But there was something about diving into Christmas intensely while still having autumn obligations that was irking me.
We’re away this coming weekend, so no crafting time.
Hope DH’s surgery goes smoothly and visit with DD is lovely.

Thanks Shakti - surgery seemed to go smoothly yesterday - he's at his follow-up appt now so fingers crossed all looks good. We pick DD up tomorrow morning. Not sure how much scrappy time I'll have the rest of the month - hopefully a little at least - but I do need to tally up points at a minimum. How is everyone doing? crafting? shopping? organising? dreaming about crafting? I did a good clean and reset of the scrappy space the other night. I keep it pretty organised and clean as I go but even so, it still needs dusting and a good go-through every so often. Found a bag worth of stuff to donate. Not much shopping - I did re-stock adhesives Wednesday...I was out of foam squares and on my last box of photo squares and my Xyron X was looking on the emptier side. And there was a nice card stamp on clearance for 1.39 so I picked that up also. www.hobbylobby.com/Scrapbook-Paper-Crafts/Stamping/Cling-Stamps/Thank-You-Floral-A2-Clear-Stamp/p/81102912 - I think it'll be good for practising my colouring skills and thank you cards are always useful.

Happy news, linda . About to leave for our fresh person's family weekend. Did a little work on my week 4 CARDtober challenge early this morning. Hey, am I supposed to be identifying products used? I see some folks do, even in their challenge responses. I haven't been, but could. Altenew has free printable coloring sheets, too. You have to order them, so if you don't want to give them your info it's not an option, but they're nice outline (almost entirely floral, of course) images.

Shakti - no requirement to name products - I sometimes do when I know what I used (which I often don't) or it's something particular old that I'm pleased to have gotten out of the stash and onto the page. And of course, if someone asks about a specific item, I'll do my best to identify it. I'll check out the altnew pages - thank you

thanks Shakti, you are SO right that we scrappers should check out the challenges... I make cards as a secondary craft but I do make all my Christmas cards and I can take advantage of this month for points. How is everyone doing? crafting? shopping? organising? dreaming about crafting? I am finishing up pages for my DDs final dance season in 2021. Getting there - probably have 7 more pages - but I really really feel like I should get my christmas act started! I placed a smallish order for a few fresh Christmas supplies so maybe I'll press on with these dance pages until they arrive, then shelve my normal scrapping and focus on Christmas gifts, Christmas cards etc. Heck, I might make a stab at my previous, unfinished december dailies, and see if they help me get into the holiday spirit early! Does anyone else make Christmas gifts? I always make my MIL a calendar full of photos from the year. And I usually make my coworkers an ornament or something as well. I don't think they know how many hours go into those items, but they are cute and it feels good to give!

Does anyone else make Christmas gifts? Yes! I usually make at least one set of note cards or all-occasion cards as gifts. Yeah, that right there is another hint for you all to check out the card challenges....

Shakti - I've been looking at the challenges but I have house guests for the rest of the month so no scrapping/crafting really happening - the little crafty time I'm squeezing in has been at my sewing machine. kitbop - I make cranberry bread and pumpkin gingerbread for teachers, bus driver, and some local friends. I have made sets of notecards in the past and I might make one set this year (most of my previous recipients have passed). Most of my homemade Christmas presents tend to be sewn not paper crafts but I did do a layered paper shadowbox this year for my BIL and am hoping to make one for a friend as well.

Sorry I have been so absent. I can't seem to get myself in gear since all the relatives left. I hunkered down in my messy scraproom and made all my Christmas cards in the past 2 weeks. I used to always make gifts for Christmas, but our family has grown so much that I haven't for the past few years. My DH always tries to make something special for the grands, but this year it will just be for our 4 kids' families, not all the married grands. He can't read a tape measure anymore and I have to be his eyes in the woodshop. We got the correct measurements and he has made templates for wooden outlines of 3 standing pine trees. They aren't fancy, but will look nice on a porch, hearth or wherever. We will attach a copy of the Legend of the 3 Trees for them to read to their families. We have a tradition of reading a Christmas story each night from Dec.1 to Christmas day. Linda, I wish I were a teacher of your children. You are so sweet. Shakti, a set of cards is always a welcome gift. What a thoughtful thing to do. kitbop, thanks for keeping this thread/challenge going for us. I haven't made a scrapbook page since Sept. I will get my points counted for Oct. I have really enjoyed your dance pages! Your DD's versatility is amazing. I haven't left notes on each, but hope to get back to them. You do such lovely work.

nylene - what a lovely gift idea - I would love to see a picture when you and DH get them finished. DH's most recent eye surgery isn't healing as quickly as hoped -and he might need them to revise it. Hopefully not.

nylene, I love how you "can't get yourself in gear" but have over 100 cards made I haven't even figured out what card design I'm using!!! Linda fingers crossed your DHs eyes heal. I have got 2 layouts done this weekend, and plan to try for a 3rd today. That's a big deal for this slowpoke!

Linda, I am so sorry about your husband's eye surgery not healing as expected. He is in my prayers. Anything dealing with eyes really touches me. Years of battling to keep DH's sight have made me so grateful and cautious about eyes. Hope he begins to heal quickly. kitbop, my cards are all the same each year. This year they were quite simple and went quickly. I'm glad they are finished. I consider myself a scrapbooker who makes cards. Scrapbook is my love, but I'm getting excited about all the new, fun, interactive cards I want to try. I'll go check out your gallery. I think 3 pages is a great accomplishment.

Wishing for the best for your husband, linda. Good news for all of us who were busy during CARDtober: grammadee says we can earn points for these challenges for the rest of the quarter! Only the “shoot the moon” bonus for completing all 31 expires next week.

Only the “shoot the moon” bonus for completing all 31 expires next week. anyone here in the running for this bonus? In years past, I would really dedicate myself to sketchtember to reach the bonus. This year I wondered how *anyone* could be that diligent! My mindset wasn't there. One year, I tried really hard to keep up with cardtober but failed after after about 1 week. As a scrapbooker, if a difficult challenge is given to me (ie something that's not my style or normal activity) I can make it work for 1 layout. I do NOT have those skills as a cardmaker - if you move me out of my alley, I crash and burn. Cardtober quickly showed me this

anyone here in the running for this bonus? Nope. I generally do not "try" to do challenges -- like during the regular quarterly stuff, I just kind of do my thing and then see where I landed at the end of the month. I suppose the exceptions are the regular SLoC challenge and "use it up" sorts of things (because I have an unhealthy obsession with using older supplies to make quick/easy cards for donation). I had just joined 2 Peas last CARDtober, hadn't yet gotten a stamping platform or die-cutting machine, and totally ignored the whole thing. Now this year, I could keep up with creating my challenges, but not the rest of them. I did find many inspiring, though, and plan to go back and pick some up to make holiday cards over the next month or two, which is why I asked grammadee about how long we had to get those points. But the bonus is way too far above my reach!

I managed the Sketchtember bonus but Cardtober wasn't happening for me this year - just too much going on here IRL and I struggle more with the card challenges anyway.
