No. After the side effects I dealt with after my second booster, there is no way I will get another one. I’ve had covid (probably) and it was not nearly as bad as the flu that damaged my lungs more than a decade ago.

I am leaning towards getting it, as I am high risk - over 60 and have diabetes. I will have my quarterly diabetes check in early October and will talk to my doctor then about it. I know she'll want me to get the flu shot, it's just what else she recommends.

Absolutely. And the flu shot. Already got the RSV vaccine. I am working with children, so it’s a no-brainer for me.

I'm immunocompromised, so I will be getting it when my Dr tells me to, as will dh and ds.
None of us has had it yet.

I will get one as it's been nearly a year since my last booster. Me too. I had covid in December but it was nothing more than a cold

Yes. I happen to have a physical coming up so I might mention it to the doctor but I really hadn't considered asking him. I didn't ask him about any of the other ones I've had. I will likely wait until October or early November for more protection in the winter. I expect this to be an annual thing for some time.

It sounds like I won't need a booster. I am just getting over Covid and it wasn't fun. Hopefully I at least have some new immunity to come out of being sick. I just had a relatively mild case about a week ago, so I am also wondering about immunity and the best time for the booster. I have a wellness appointment in early November so I will discuss w/my PCP. I will be 72 in November and work as a lunch lady so I am leaning towards getting the latest booster. I will definitely get a flu shot, and will also ask about RSV.

Yes. Diabetic with other auto-immune disorders. COVID knocked me on my ss. Due to my health issues, I end up sicker longer and recovery takes months. I’m still not over the last (2nd) round of COVID from about 6 months ago. The vaccine creates its own havoc for a few days, too.

No way. I had a mild case of covid 3 years ago, after the initial 2 shot series. I just had covid again 2 weeks ago and it wasn’t any big deal for me. My dad is currently having some neurological and cognitive problems and these types of issues have never occurred in our family history. I can’t help but wonder if all those boosters he faithfully got had anything to do with the sudden onset and severity of his symptoms.

I probably will. I got covid last year after travelling to Italy, and then I didn;t get the booster offered in Oct bc I felt I still had immunity from actual covid. SO I am overdue.

I've only had the first three (the first two and one booster). I'll talk to my pcp but I am planning on getting it this year with my flu shot

I had a physical in June and my doctor said it was up to me, but I didn't fit the criteria for needing one. I'm under 50 with no risk factors and have had 3 shots already. I haven't decided yet. On one had I am also pretty low risk for contracting it - no young children at home and work 80% remote. But on the other hand, I had a pretty rough experience with Covid in summer of 2022 which I have no desire to repeat.

No. I was a huge advocate for the shot and the boosters and was one of the first to get it…BUT…I had the worst muscle pain of my life in my legs, weakness etc. Had to see a neurologist and he advised no more boosters. So for myself, a huge no. For others, absolutely! Especially the elderly and those with health issues. Edited: I have never had Covid All the more reason the rest of us need to get the vaccines, to protect those who can't or shouldn't!!

I checked no because after my third one I was extremely sick for over a week. Very weak, fever, shivers, vomiting etc.I had had similar reactions to the other 2 but they were much milder. I also had a huge hot welt where the injection was that was very painful for quite a few days.

As I noted above, that is why we get them to protect those who can't.

Yes I will as soon as the new booster is available. It's been 10 months since my last booster so I know I'm due for another one. I'm overweight with a BMI of 27. I also have been diagnosed with asthma but haven't had any symptoms in the past 10 years, except one time last month and that was due to the Canadian wildfires and my being outside. Really surprised me because it came out of the blue. Because of this I'm not taking any chances.
I've never had Covid and I don't want to get it. I also have 2 parents who are both 84 who live close by.

My last booster was in October of 2022. I am 66, obese, and my brother is immune compromised, so I will get the newest one, probably in October or November.
I will get the flu shot in October, as usual. I am getting the first shingles shot tomorrow. The recommendation for RSV is to discuss it with your doctor, but since I’m not in the schools any more, I’m not sure if she will suggest I get it or not.

I’m a solid no.
Got the first 2 part Pfizer shot (spring 2021) and was sick for 3 days after each with fever and body aches. Got Covid for Christmas 2021 and had a fever for 4 days, bad body aches, fatigue, headache, throat, etc. Sickest I’ve been since chicken pox when I was 6. Got the first booster spring 2022. Fever and extreme body aches for 3 days.
No more for me. I can’t be out of the classroom for 3 days because of a vaccine. I’ll take my chances.
I also don’t get the flu shot yearly.
I did get prevnar since I’m asthmatic.
I fully plan to get shingrix as soon as I turn 50 in April.

I had 2 shots and made sure to find 2 boosters (they were not available in MX so I traveled back to the US fo them) but I won’t be going out of my way for another. If they are available here and plentiful enough for everyone I’d get one, but otherwise not planning to make a special trip.

The results are interesting. According to this article, about 17% of the U.S. population has received the Bivalent vaccine. And about half of those are over 65, as would be expected. Experts think the percentages for the new booster coming out will be along the same lines. The results from this board poll is totally flipped in terms of how many are planning to get the new vaccine. www.cnbc.com/2023/07/29/covid-vaccine-what-uptake-of-new-shots-could-look-like.html

I will definitely get the new vaccine, as long as my doctor okays it. Pretty sure I never got the second booster last year.
I haven’t had COVID yet (to my knowledge) and I was heavily exposed last winter when my mother had it for the second time at age 93. I stayed with her in a closed-up apartment for four days and thought for sure I was going to get it, but no. And I sure don’t want to get it this winter, either.

I'm not planning to at this time.
I'm generally quite healthy with no underlying conditions. I had the initial two-dose vaccine and one booster. I asked my doctor about the second booster, and he said no for me. I did have covid twice - once before the vaccines came out and once after the two shots and booster. I had a day or two of flu-like misery with one of the shots and with the second episode of covid. Unless my doctor changes his recommendation for me, I will not be getting another covid shot any time soon. (I do take a flu shot annually and have for virtually my entire adult life.)

I will be getting it when it's widely available. I'm getting my flu shot next week and I'll ask about it then. I have 2 new grandchildren under 4 months old and one of those grandkids has 2 grandparents on the paternal side actively dealing with cancer, so I need to do what I can to protect them.

Yes. Getting RSV today and will do flu and covid in the same day once the new covid vaccine has been approved. Did them together last year and the side effects for me were minimal.

Yes. All articles I have read have said everyone who can should get the new booster. I haven't read anything about certain groups not. It will become a yearly vaccine just like for the flu.
I will have to pre medicate for a week and then a week after.
Moving to the Moderna Vax and pre medicating allowed me to safely have the booster last October with no issues! I also had minimal side effects.

I most likely will not, I did not do well when I got the original shot or booster (I only got one booster). I may change my mind, but at this time, no.
