I never have, but this sounds like an interesting challenge. I could make a page and then search for a random photo in my huge huge camera time to go in it!

Like some others, I don't premake LO, but I do put together page kits. I have 35 page kits to take to a crop next month, where I have picked the photos, 1-3 sheets of paper that go with them and a few embellishments (specific, not like enamel dots or general embellishments) I slide all these into a page protector and I like that I am not bringing all my paper (would not even be possible) to the crop. Sometimes I do this at home too when I want to be creative but don't have the time to actually scrapbook. It's a gift to future me.

I do not because I do not know what I want when it comes to the actual project. I do 9x12 pocket scrapbooking and use either the pocket pages or the single 9x12 pocket for a regular layout. I have made a few insert cards either with embellishments or for journaling to have on hand that are basic to use. When I have the need to cut, glue, stamp, ink, etc I make cards. I know the card will be given and I get in some fun craft time

I have never bought a kit or attended a scrapbooking class as I have a style unique to me so am never interested in these types of pre made layouts. I have, however, made a few pocket pages when I had a few themed but random items I wanted to keep together that I pre make and store and match at a later time to photos. Generally I will make these when I’m in a creative rut and can only handle designing something 4x6 or 3x4 or smaller, or if I have an amazing idea in my brain that I just have to release onto cardstock right away. In the past I have also preplanned albums like witl, ditl and dd as I usually use products from the year before for these and find it easier to complete if the basics are done and I just have to add photos and journaling. It was also a great idea for me to do this so that I could see that I had four years worth of witl items inc albums ready to go so I really didn’t need to buy more this year! I have also done this with pocket scrapbooking. I guess you'd call them filler cards. I haven't made many, but some months, the photos are so random on one page, I don't bother trying to make a cohesive design. 😆

I used to years ago when I was a new scrapper. My LSS had a lot of classes. I finally I got tired of using someone else’s style and color scheme.

So I'm the odd one out here. Most of my layouts start as "kits" It seems that I am either in the mood to design or glue. But my kits always include pictures. This last weekend I put together 6. Chose and printed the pictures - chose the papers - chose the embellishments. Put all of that in a 12 x 12 plastic bag. Now I am ready to glue during an on-line or in person crop. I am a sucker for pre-made kits although I never put them together the way the designer has done them. When I go to Scrap Expo there are always 3 - 4 vendors that I visit.

gramma, your kitting process sounds a lot like mine, except that my bags are pretty thick cuz I leave the final selection until I actually lay out the pages. If I am scrapping away from home, I do stamping and diecutting and sometimes some wet media work at home, and all that goes into the kit. But I cut the photo mats and other pp and cs with a trimmer when I am assembling the page.

I have my papers, my pics, my mats and all my embellies ready to go with each one. Each page layout is in its own place......even have my sticky notes with any journaling and titles I will create once there. It definitely helps me to cut down on all the 'luggage' I take,lol.......

I'm clearly in the minority. I love page kits and use them most of the time. I have a subscription to a Washington-based scrapbook company so I get happy mail every month in the form of seasonally appropriate page kits. My friends and I attend 3-4 of their events each year which are so much fun. I really like their style and the kits are unique, often times with interactive components. They are what I would create if I had the time and/or creativity. I've never been a one-picture-to-a-page girl (although I think those are beautiful!) because I'm usually capturing events or point-in-time pics of my grandson so I have lots of pictures to scrap. I find it so freeing to have layouts ready to use at a moment's notice.... gives me more time to focus on photo placement and journaling. Disclaimers: I don't always create the kits according to the instructions... I've learned through the years what I like, what I don't like and adjust accordingly. Also, I started making these kits years ago and didn't realize at first that all the flowers, swirls or other embellishments that cover part of a photo mat shouldn't be secured down until the photo is added. I have a huge box of my early layouts that are really kind of useless unless I try to de-construct them, which would be difficult to do since in my early years I used glue and tape runners like a wild grade-schooler!!! Those puppies are stuck! I love that we all have our own way of participating in this great hobby.

Rarely and if so I’m picky about what I’m making. It’s typically for a class and I choose themes then that I know I’ll have a picture for. I actually like these for things like birthdays and holidays since they can get so repetitive. But daily things no. I find that hard.
