“We have the leading candidate for president of the United States in this courtroom today," Kise says, adding that "I don't think we should really be here today," given the covid exposures.” Isn't that the same guy who participated in a presidential debate after he had been tested positive? And felt like Superman when he was recovering?

Finally, Tennessee admits that they need the federal monies to level the field. Guess what they are supposedly turning it down.. Last I checked TN gets $2.13 for every dollar they send in!! The $2.13 was a bit higher because of receiving Covid funds, and NJ got $1.36 back with Covid funds, lowest of all!! NJ normally gets below dollar! Before Covid $.82. All the better we will keep our dollars!!! Tennessee Republicans are ramping up calls to reject millions of federal dollars rather than adhere to requirements regarding LGBTQ and abortion rights, Fox 17 reported. “I think this trend in declining federal funds really is alarming,” said state Sen. Raumesh Akbari (D). “A big portion of our government and our budget ... rely on federal funds. They are there to level the playing field with other states."While Tennessee is among 10 states with a history of denying Medicaid expansion to thousands of low-income residents, American University professor Thomas Kahn said it's alarming that the GOP is willing to reject $1.8 billion in federal education funds over LGBTQ+ rights and abortion access mandates.“Typically, there’s a fight for federal funding and states are more than eager to accept money,” Kahn said. “Now, you’re seeing a much more conservative trend in this country where there’s more hostility toward the federal funding on anything it proposes. It’s a trend that’s getting worse.” Supporters argue that the state doesn't need the cash."We should do everything that we can to be whole and autonomous and independent from the federal government," House Speaker Cameron Sexton (R) told reporters last week. “When you take federal government money, their philosophies and what they want you to do is different than probably what the state wants to do. www.rawstory.com/tennessee-gop-2666053536/

So what happens to the money that states reject? Wishful thinking, would be good to go back to the states who sent it in. This is a pet peeve of mine. We send our tax dollars to states that trash us all the time. Just a note: the TN $2.13 is a bit high, that was during Covid.

Emmer only had 117 secret votes. This is a disaster! House majority whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) won the internal vote among Republicans to be nominated for speaker, but he faces a steep uphill climb. "There were 26 that either voted present or voted for another candidate," Rep. Brandon Williams (R-NY) told CNN's Manu Raju. "Of those, I believe there were five that voted present and the bulk of them were for Jim Jordan. I think there was five for Mike Johnson, one for Byron Donalds.”www.rawstory.com/tom-emmer-speaker-2666055137/4:00pm ET Emmer says no and walks out with a smile... Back to the basement to pick another!!

I wish this guy would disappear. But yet in 2020 at the height of the spread of the virus he wanted to have everything opened by Easter of that year.
The Recount…
“Donald Trump, after a judge denied his request to halt his civil fraud trial over a small COVID-19 outbreak:
“What they did with COVID in the courtroom was a disgrace and they should apologize … The bias of the judge, he should have held it off a little bit.”

The president would go on stage to deliver a speech to his supporters, at one point painting himself as a persecuted man. Trump then likened his struggle in the legal system to the late anti-apartheid freedom fighter Nelson Mandela, who was imprisoned for nearly three decades and then, upon release, became South Africa's president. Trump said: "I don't mind being Nelson Mandela because I'm doing it for a reason." www.rawstory.com/trump-indictment-lock-him-up/How dare he. First, he probably doesn't even know who Mandela was (I'm guessing a staffer made the likeness to curry favor and had to explain who he was). Let's see if he's as strong when he's in prison for decades, shall we? And, he's "doing it for a reason," but that reason is keeping himself OUT of prison. I can hardly explain how badly he makes me want to slap him.

“In fact, we're going to be releasing some numbers next week that will make your head spin,” dumpster don can release all the numbers he want but unless they can back them up with verifiable proof they mean absolutely nothing. And if there was verifiable proof these numbers would have been released a long time ago. This is one of TFG's favorite tricks--because nobody calls him on it. I'd like to see somebody from the press gaggle push for any of the hundreds of things he was going to do/prove/provide "next week" or "in 2 weeks" that never happen.

Irony at its best. I read this from empty wheel and thought huh? ”BREAKING: The guy who exposed the leading candidate for President in 2020 to COVID, Chris Christie, and others, PRE-VACCINE says he shouldn't be exposed to COVID.” Then I read this… 😀 From Erica Orden ”Trump lawyer Chris Kise says four members of the AG's team tested positive for COVID. He says he is sitting further away from the AG's table because he is concerned about exposure. He's railing against the AG's lack of notification about exposures.” “We have the leading candidate for president of the United States in this courtroom today," Kise says, adding that "I don't think we should really be here today," given the covid exposures.” ”Kise is arguing that court should be postponed.” ”Another Trump lawyer says a member of their team tested positive and another member of the AGs team tested positive this morning.” “Judge Engoron says court will proceed today despite the Trump team's concerns” “A spokesperson for the AG's office says it has followed CDC guidelines and that "the court decided to proceed with trial today. If there were any concerns, defendants’ could wear masks today or at any point, but they have opted not to.” If TFG hadn't minimized COVID (by his own admission) because he thought it would hurt his re-election, we might not STILL be dealing with it (or the loss of all those lives). Now, when it's convenient for him, it's a deadly disease that requires all precautionary measures. He can sit on a chainsaw, the selfish turd.

This is exactly what Putin wants so yiu can’t tell me that trump isn’t doing Putin’s bidding. Noah Shachtman… ”EXCLUSIVE: Trump and his team are actively planning to pull the United States out of NATO — or, barring that, kneecap the collective defense provisions at the heart of the alliance. 🔗 rollingstone.com/politics/polit…” x.com/noahshachtman/status/1716465932300653018?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nwA response that is spot on… “This is Donald Trump asking Russia or some other country that hates NATO to intervene in the 2024 election in his behalf. This is another “Russia if you’re listening….” At this point, after the documents scandal, and Anthony’s Pratt’s story, I’m convinced that if *we* are stupid enough to elect Trump again the other NATO countries wouldn’t want us anymore because we’d be a ‘UGE’ liability with Mr “loose lips sink ships” at the helm. Why would any other nation risk their security and secrets being Ally’s with us at that point. They don’t need a trial by jury their intelligence services have already checked it out, we don’t know the answer but I’m pretty positive all the other countries know one way or the other. I assume they’ve been desperately trying to ascertain if he gave away any of their secrets. It’s already alleged that he gave out details about plans for Iran if something happened. I personally, in my opinion, wouldn’t trust the man with a high school test answer key much less national defense secrets.

Honestly I'm not following the news in detail because I'm just over it all and really don't care anymore. That being said, last I heard MAGA Judge Cannon put the whole trial on indefinite hold. So unfortunately the news about Meadows is really a nothing burger.

Habba having issues in court..
Engoron immediately granted her request to stop it without further argument, and Cohen's testimony resumed a short time later, after Donald Trump arrived alone behind his legal team.
Habba's request was noted on the record, which could then potentially be raised on appeal.

I’m beginning to think the Republicans, especially those in the House, only supports the Constitution only when it agrees with what they think otherwise not so much. Of course I’m making an assumption these folks who took an oath to uphold the Constitution actually have read it and knows what’s in it.
I wonder if Boebert understands what “religious freedom” means.

Cohen turned to James, sitting in the front row, and said, "You're welcome. Yes."

Sidney Powell has been online talking conspiracies. Not sure what the court can do about it. Under oath she swore that she gave her guilty plea of her own accord without pressure .. of? Despite pleading guilty to interfering with the 2020 presidential election result, Sidney Powell continues to promote conspiracy theories about Donald Trump's election loss, according to a report. The right-wing attorney pushed baseless claims of election fraud and accused Georgia prosecutors of politicizing their office, and a newsletter published by her dark-money group shared articles claiming that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis secured Powell's guilty plea through extortion, reported Insider. Since her plea, Powell has also used her Truth Social and Telegram accounts to promote the Substack newsletter published by her dark-money group, Defending the Republic, urging followers to "hold fast" and share articles and YouTube videos claiming her guilty plea was "extorted." It's not clear whether Powell will face any repercussions for her post-plea claims, but legal experts said her behavior was unusual for a cooperating witness. "Usually, after a guilty plea, the defendants do not want to rock the boat," said Ronald Carlson, a professor at the University of Georgia School of Law. "It's very likely a situation where she's kind of saying, 'I'm going to exercise my right to free speech,' but one has to exercise care not to jeopardize anything in the plea agreement." www.rawstory.com/sidney-powell-guilty/
