This was our harbour earlier so the wind is definitely up. If you can’t tell, the waves are over the lighthouse. We are on a yellow warning and I don’t think it’s likely to get worse. We’ve not had any rain; further south seems to be getting it bad, particularly around where Jockscrap is I think? I think lesley is ok at the moment too. Thanks for thinking of us!

Stay safe everyone, it was scary bad here yesterday! I saw video and reports on the flooding in Cork, it's awful. The aftermath is such a horrible mess. Unfortunately, the BBC are already reporting the body of a woman has been found after being swept in to the Water of Lee, Angus.

I think I saw that a baby had been taken out of the water in Angus. If I’m remembering correctly, I imagine they are related incidents.

I am from the US but we are in Killarney and yes the devastation from the news is terrible. I did not see anything about the storm in my news feed so it came as a complete shock. My son and I were at the Kerry cliffs and thought the weather was normal albet extremely trechous. Wish our B&B would of mentioned the storm but we just had no idea. Lots of people in Cork and so much damage, it's devastating Praying for Cork and Scottland.

Thanks for your well wishes wellway. We’re okay here in Central Scotland, just the normal rain and wind. The northeast is getting it really bad. I was speaking to a woman this evening whose sister is visiting from New Zealand for the first time in 40 years. She had planned to spend the weekend with an old school friend in Stonehaven, but all trains and buses have been cancelled. And she goes back to New Zealand next week, so won’t have another chance.

We’re in an amber warning area and it’s not been too bad for us but some of the towns further down the east coast have had really horrendous flooding. We’ve been very fortunate. Great photo gillyp. Thanks for the good wishes Peas.

Looks like tonight could see more flooding 😞 Glad to know none of our peas are in the red danger area but terrible for those who are.

I have never ever seen anything like that before. The poor dog is just saying “I’m not too bothered about a walk today, can we just go home please?” 😊

Actually, on thinking about it, surely it's the wind pushing the trees over and the mat of roots have come away with the force of the movement?
