That one looks really pretty, MDscrapaholic. Don't think I will be making the mini album, but I love the colours of the papers so can think of alot of ways to use them. I just got back from an in person crop, and am looking for info on this C&C. When is the unboxing? Are there any prep videos scheduled? I don't go on fb enough to figure out quickly where everything is on the site.

Starting to get excited even though I haven't done a thing! Need to get started after work tonight.

I haven't started on any of the homework. Also, I am going to miss the Friday live classes as I'm traveling for work so I'll have to watch those later - bummed about that.
I think I'm probably going to skip Virginia's countdown calendar class. It's not something I would use so I'll repurpose those supplies into layouts or cards.
The Holiday Bliss Book I'm torn about. I keep all my Christmas layouts in specific 12x12 albums so a mini album wouldn't work for me BUT I could make it & give it as a gift (I think my cousin would really like it).
I'm getting excited!!

I’m trying to decide if I’m going to skip the countdown calendar class too. I don’t need one. My 15 year old already has one I made her on my Silhouette way way back in the day. I decided I’m doing the Holiday Bliss Book as my Journal Your Christmas album. I messaged Jess Forrester and asked if it would be easy enough to convert to a traditional 6x8 album and she said yes. I’m looking forward to getting that album premade and then I can maybe catch up on both 2021 and 2022 to satisfy my Christmas creative needs during the month. Or maybe I’m crazy wanting to work on three years of JYC in one month. 😂🎅🏻🎄

I'm also planning to skip making the holiday countdown. We already have one that is a tradition so I don't need a new one.
I'm not sure what I will do with the mini album since I decided to go with Ali's DD for my project this year.
Excited for the unboxing since my box is still unopened!

I'm so glad I read this thread because I didn't realize the unboxing was this week. This month is already flying by!
I'm making the countdown calendar, but I need to figure out what to put in the boxes. I love advent calendars, we have a bunch already but there's always room for one more.
I have not done one iota of homework so I will get cracking on it tomorrow. Excited!

Add me to the “skipping the countdown” project. It’s very cute. But I don’t need it and it looks fiddly to get it all lined up and looking nice. I think I’d rather just use that collection to make some layouts. We have a magnetic board countdown calendar I made that has become a tradition for our family as well.
I like Jess’s mini book. Nice collection too. I’m not really a mini maker though. Because it’s a pocket style, maybe I’ll just make it into larger pocket sleeves to use in my 12x12 albums. That might be the best of both worlds. I’m not much of a pocket scrapper either, but it’s easier for me to translate into my style.
Does anyone think Gina K’s cards don’t look very Gina K? I thought they were hero arts maybe. They’re not her normal style. I have no opinion on them either way but they surprised me.

I watched Virginia's video and for some reason I suddenly want to make little boxes all day LOL. Of course I have yet to sit down and make ONE box, and I don't actually NEED to create an advent calendar, but the directions seemed really simple and clear and of course those little squares on the DB pp and their stickers are so CUTE!.
Maybe I should pick up some cute ear rings for Christmas for each of my dgd's just so I can put each set in a cute little box...

Anyone watching the unboxing tonight? I had planned on it but a friend called. Plus, I’m exhausted from traveling to my appointment at the neurosurgeon’s office and physical therapy. I’ll watch tomorrow. I’m excited to get started on prep work soon.

Had a lovely evening with the neighbors that went on longer than expected so I’ll be unboxing tomorrow. After I meet with the insurance agent, go to physical therapy, and pick up my new hat. (Designed by a local artist, a one-of-a-kind design made just for me. Picture a gray cowboy type hat with musical symbols, notes and flowers on the side and on the top and bottom of the brim. Then add a black ribbon with a treble clef charm.)
I don’t know which I’m more excited about, the hat or the unboxing!

Just finished homework for Gina K class. The stamps we got are gorgeous! The bird and the snowman - all stamp beautifully and are easy to color. I’m not much of a shaker card maker but I’m going to do these.

Anyone watch the Meet and Greet with Jess Forester last night? She is always so upbeat and cheerful. I enjoyed watching and am going to try to do her Bliss book.

Today is the day! Everyone ready to rumble??
Looking forward to Gina's class! I think I can make a lot of cards with that stamp set. Paige's class - I think I'm just going to sit back and watch. Haven't done the homework or any cutting so will be behind. I've decided I'm not making the boxes with Virginia, but I really want to make the layouts.

I’m getting off to a slow start. I’m saving Gina’s class until Sunday. Spending the morning getting in my walk and exercises so my physical therapist doesn’t yell at me. Then I’ll work on finishing up some of the homework while I watch Catherine in reruns. By 2:00 I’ll be ready to jump in with Paige’s class and I’ll make a layout for Virginia’s class. Cute project, but no one to give it to who will actually use it. Not sure how late I’ll follow along tonight. I’ll definitely not be doing Angie’s coloring tonight. I’ll save that for Sunday too.

I’m wearing my Disney Christmas pjs and watching. It’s been fun so far. I’m having a bit of a slide backwards in recovery so decided not to pressure myself and just relax in bed today. I’m hoping I’ll feel like playing tomorrow. Paige’s class was great! I liked her ornament page and will do something similar with circle dies I have most likely. Maybe I’ll pull pictures from last year to use.

Take it easy lilacgal - don't overdo it! I liked Paige's ornament page too, and did it with circle dies I have, rather than cut them by hand. However, I wasn't paying attention, and used too much of the two papers you need for the second class! I should have cut the papers for the second class first, and then used what is left over for the circles. Oh well. Live and learn! I'm sure I have other papers I can use for that. I'm just watching Virginia's class - will use the papers for something other than the countdown boxes. Her voice is so soothing, I feel like dozing off. Am excited to see what Meghann has for us with the Close to My Heart stamp set!

During Paige's meet n greet, I was intrigued by one of the two page LO's on her wall. Even went to find it on her blog and screen shotted the pages. Instead of ornaments, it had photos stacked in "presents" made from her papers in this collection. Thinking that is a LO I may try when scrapping Christmas.
I watched Gina K yesterday and am watching Cathy Z right now. Nothing to show for it, but I am watching. I really want to play with those layered stencils, but don't think it will be today. There are days I have the patience to go step by step, other days I have the muse to just grab things and play--today isn't either of those, so I will just watch...

I'm moving a lot slower than I anticipated. Partially due to health issues and partially due to not liking the feeling that I was rushing through things and I wanted to slow down.
I actually haven't finished a single thing yet, but I'm working on it. I've got Paige's ornament layout pretty much laid out and the other layout is coming along. I messed up cutting the paper by working ahead of time, so I had to piece together the triangles and then cover some empty spots where the papers met, but now that I've got it put together you can't even tell. This morning I'm working on finishing up the layout from Virginia - she was moving too fast for me last night when it came to the decorating part.
Today I decided to skip Cathy Z's class - I can pretty much do that on my own. I will do the layout with Mari, she usually goes at a nice pace so I think I'll keep up. I'll skip the cards - I like making my cards more from scratch, although that kit is really cute. I'm sure I'll find something to do with it. I'll definitely start Jess's class, but I'm not up to doing all three hours so I'll stop part way through.
I've already warned my husband that Sunday is still considered a scrapping day. Fortunately, he's perfectly happy to just leave me alone. I can't imagine why!!!

Nice to see everyone going at their own pace and just enjoying the event without feeling pressured, etc. I've done Gina K's cards and 2 of Cathy Z's. I had to work yesterday afternoon so I'll do those projects later. I started working on my Christmas cards last week - I always do a bunch of prototypes over the fall months and then my husband, son, and I all vote on our favourite and I mass produce those (about 25 of them) for our Christmas card every year. Well, we did the vote last weekend and chose a stencilled one, so I've been working on mass producing that card all week. Then I did Gina K's class yesterday and I showed the red tag card to my family and they both said "that's my favourite card! That should be our Christmas card this year!" lol. My son actually texted me "PERFECT" about it. I haven't gotten too far along with my previous cards, but I don't feel like redoing it all and making 25 shaker cards so I think I'll just make 15 of the old card and 10 of these Gina K ones.
They really love that snowman lol
