Use aqua and red on a card. Mix in neutrals or other colors if you want to. The color scheme is just a place to start. I loved this minimalist example I saw on IG: Ugh! The link to IG isn’t working so here’s a photo from the person’s blog. She says the aqua is more blue in real life that the photo makes it look. My own examples fit this scheme by accident. I was doing another challenge and realized that the cards I made were aqua (and dark blue) and red. I love it so I’ll definitely use this combo together again. Cardtober challenge stencils by jo.blackford, on Flickr Twist: be like them, not me, and make it a minimalist or clean and simple card. Thanks grammadee ETA: if you have thoughts and questions about aqua vs turquoise vs teal please check out this post, but also don't worry about it for this challenge. Just use what colors you have and like that seem "aqua and red" to you and have fun

Aqua/red is one of my favourite colour combo's! Love the sample AND your take on it, joblackford . Thank you for this and all your other colour challenges this month.

I have skipped many of Carissa Wiley's olive or aqua and pink Christmas cards (she was an instructor for both Altenew and Pinkfresh), but not quite gotten around to reworking them. Perhaps I'll try aqua and red instead of pink. Should be an easy peasy swap.

Here is my card, joblackford, a slimline this time. Not quite CAS--I forgot to mask my deer when inking over the snowflakes, so I glued on my mask. CARDtober #25 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Fabulous grammadee I love how aqua works so well for snow and then the addition of a little shot of red adds the Christmas touch. Your little Rudolph is adorable with his red nose. Thanks for playing along, and also getting us all organized to do this thing!

grammadee Your deer masking oopsie worked, in my opinion. I like how the deer is in a layer standing out, and the shading on the deer. I like your masked snowflakes. So much interest and variety! joblackford thank you for the aqua and red challenge. This is one of my favorite combinations in all of papercrafting. I especially like a lighter aqua and then a smaller pop of red. In your card the dots over the trees are the perfect placement of random and balanced. Your little sloth with the warm winter drinks - so cute!

joblackford, your cards are fabulous! The aqua and red are a stunning combination. grammadee, your snowflake and reindeer card is delightful, and I like the reindeer cut and popped. jjpeapea, your little snowman and bunny are an adorable touch on your cute card. Unfortunately, I apparently have no aqua in my stash. I have baby blue, turquoise, teal, navy, but none that I consider to be aqua. The teal/turquoise that I used looked really good with the red, though, and I’m not doing points, so I went with it. I obviously need to add some aqua to my stash, but that probably won’t happen in time for CARDtober.

scrapnnana your card is beautiful and totally fits the intent of the challenge It's just a jumping off point, after all. I love that you've done mostly red and white with just a punch of your turquoise color. I added a note to the original post that I've quoted to direct everyone to the discussion of what we think about aqua vs turquoise vs teal. You might've already seen it. It's a tricky color to talk about! ETA: if you have thoughts and questions about aqua vs turquoise vs teal please check out this post, but also don't worry about it for this challenge. jjpeapea such a pretty snowy scene. I love the aqua sky and the dashes of red to draw your eye around the card. Beautiful. Thanks for playing again

This was also for one of the funfold challenges. The one on the left has aqua (or turquoise) metallic paper but it photographed dark.

So pretty grammadee! I love that aqua foil and being able to use the positive and negative is a bonus.
