Sounds ok to me! The less of me is good! Although, I do buy some potato chips... But pop popcorn with no oil/butter as an alternative. I sure do miss my 'bacon, egg and cheese biscuits' from McD, but make similar at home. Disappointed my biscuits are not as good!

Oh...so the drug dealers are mad at rehab? Corporate food is just gross in any way shape or form. (Not on Ozempic or anything, but have worked on limiting sugar and processed food.)

I think it is most likely because prices have gone up. Not that many people are on weight loss meds.

I agree, its not just people are eating less, but the price of fast food has almost doubled in the last 10 years with a huge spike in price since Covid. Everything has go up, up, up in priced and people have to cut somewhere.

It's the prices. We rarely eat out anymore. Fast food for a family of 6 is $60+, a regular restaurant is easily $120.
Also, I'd buy a lot more Sausage Mcmuffins (the only thing I like from McDonald's) if I could still get them after 10:30 am...

I think the only fast food I eat is the breakfast sandwiches at McDonald's. And like breetheflea I'd eat a whole lot more of them if I could get them all day.

I just started on my second month of semaglutide (Ozampic) and one of the things to go in my budget is eating at home and drinking less not necessarily because of the food itself but the price.
Semaglutide is very expensive and I'm still trying to figure out what I need to cut out to be able to afford it. I told myself I'd give it this month to see how much I lose to see if it's worth it.
I'm trying to eat better but am not above some fast food once in awhile. it's just too damned expensive!

Plus I feel an average tasting 'combo' meal of a burger, fries, and a drink, is now almost $15. It's crazy! But of course that's not why people are going to fast food joints less....it's all about the weight loss drugs lolololol

I'm on the med but for my blood sugar but the weight loss side affect is awesome.
I'm eating way less and if I go to fast food it's a very small order. I usually order a kid's meal and that is more than enough. Also we have cut way back because of the prices. Last time I got something for three people and me only ordering a little bit is around $30.. that is insane!
Eating out, fast food or sit down, it's getting out of hand. If we go out as a family (with adult kids) we are splitting up the bill instead of us, mom/dad paying for it all. It's outrageous.

By fast food, I mean McD’s, BK, Wendy’s, KFC, etc. I think I’ve only gone through fast food drive through for coffee or to get my kid a milkshake (to be eaten with a spoon) after getting wisdom teeth out. We’ve had things like Chipotle and Panera but even then we generally stick to salads. When we go out, we’re either getting fish, usually salmon, or sometimes I’ll get a 6 oz filet. But always veg, usually a salad, too. Unless we go out for tacos. I could eat my weight in tacos, but stick to two or three. Even then, it’s got to be a good restaurant. No Taco Bell, ever. I left that behind after college and the post-bar drunken grub dash.

It couldn’t be that people realize that crappy overpriced food is not good for your health or budget? It's the cost. The price of basic food at McDonald's is nuts now. I used to order a McDouble, small fry, small coke and it was $3, which felt about right for price. Now it is $7 - which is expensive, IMO People eat here, not for health but for the cost. If it is not cheap, they aren't going to go, or go as often. And I had to beg for the small. They would always try to give me a large (same price) - but geeze... I don't want 2 quarts of pop. I won't drink diet. I just want a small Coke once in a while. Fast food for a family of 6 is $60+, a regular restaurant is easily $120 We went out as a family last weekend. 7 of us. 6 had prime rib, 1 had a nice big pork tenderloin sandwich. The 6 steaks came with a salad bar (lettuce, several pasta salads, cottage cheese, toppings, puddings, and homemade potato soup) , choice of potato or other side and toast. 6 of us all had at least one alcoholic drink, several had 2 or 3. Total, including taxes, but not tip - $195. In these times, I felt that wasn't bad at all, and the Prime ribs were AMAZING! They also source out higher quality beef. This is a privately owned restaurant/bar. They make their Prime Rib's in an Alto Sham, which is the most delicious way of cooking one. I'd rather pay this money, than the fast food money. Maybe fast food chains should step up and offer some healthier options. People want CHEAP. Healthy isn't cheap.

DH wanted Taco Bell the other day. We are a family of 5 and my kids are middle school and elementary age, for reference. It cost us almost $75 to eat at Taco Bell. Taco-freaking-Bell. I'll even post the order, so you can see the details:
Deluxe Cravings Box $10.99 1 Medium Brisk® Dragon Paradise™ Sparkling Iced Tea 1 Seasoned Fries 1 Nacho Cheese Sauce 1 Chalupa Supreme® - Chicken 1 Beefy 5-Layer Burrito + 1 SUB Chicken for Included Meat $0.90 1 Nacho Cheese Doritos® Locos Tacos + 1 SUB Chicken for Included Meat $0.90
4 Chicken Quesadilla $23.16 + 4 No Creamy Jalapeño Sauce
Chicken Quesadilla Combo $9.29 1 Large Pepsi® 1 Chicken Quesadilla 1 Soft Taco + 1 SUB Chicken for Included Meat $0.90
Chicken Quesadilla $5.79 Large Vegan Nacho Fries $3.49 1 Large Seasoned Fries 1 Vegan Nacho Sauce
Subtotal $66.60 Discounts –$0.00 Tax $6.06 Total $72.66
Obviously, we could've skipped the Nacho Fries, but come on?? Also, we ordered from a kiosk, because you only use the cashier if you're paying cash. I will never eat there again.

I left that behind after college and the post-bar drunken grub dash. Way too many good taco places here to go to Taco Bell. And the hole in the wall taquerias are generally cheaper than chain fast food these days. If I'm going to make a poor nutritional choice, Mexican or Tex-Mex is my number one choice. That's not to say that I never, ever stop at McDonald's or Whataburger. Sometimes I just need quick. But I cringe at the price every time and it never tastes as good as I hope it will. That's almost never a choice but a necessity for time. And both DH and I have ordered the kids' meal for years. As we get older, we just can't eat as much. (I agree with others about the McD breakfast sandwiches, though. Yum. Also Chick Fil A chicken minis - but we avoid CFA for other reasons.) I do not like Chipotle. There. I said it. I don't know what it is, but the flavor puts me off. I like Freebirds (local Chipotle-like chain) just fine.

I just read the article and here's the interesting part:
** On Thursday, Chipotle is expected to report a 4.5% increase in Q3 same-store sales, according to LSEG data, slower both on a year-over-year and a sequential basis. Profit likely rose about 18%.
** McDonald's, which reports on Monday, is also likely to post slower same-store sales growth, while profit is expected to rise more than 10%.
** A day later, Yum Brands is likely to report same-store sales growth of 4.7% - slowing from 5% last year and 9% in Q2 - and an 11% jump in profit.
** Starbucks' Q4 earnings report on Nov. 2 is expected to show a 6.5% rise in same-store sales, lower than the 10% in Q3 and 7% last year. Profit is projected to jump about 26%.
What in the hell are they complaining about when profits are up? What is it with America that we feel we need constant growth? Other countries don't feel this way. I just read a chapter in a book regarding the fact that other countries are content with consistency in business and in America, there's always got to be growth. I'll post the book. It's why they are manipulating our food. It's all to create more and more consumption. They don't care if we are sick and fat.

I don't buy this article. I mean, have some ate less? Yes. But I would venture to say that the loss of revenue is do to people not being able to afford to eat out and they are being more cost conscious at the grocery store.

I cannot count the number of times I’ve been out running errands, get hungry, and realize my only decent choice is to stop at a grocery store with a good prepared foods section. If I could dash into a FF place and get a tasty salad with nicely cooked protein on it, I’d be all over it.

It is the cost. Plenty of people not on ozempic are cutting back too.
I generally avoid fast food. The last time I was in a pinch I got a CFA kids meal and it was over $6. That used to be the price of an adult value meal.

I used to get the chips and cheese.. always .99, always. They are now like 2.50?? 2.50 for about 10 chips and a 1/2 full cup of cheese. Probably cost them .10 to make. I'm not ashamed that I like fast food. Whatever.. I hate cooking more. WAY more. Shame me all ya want.

Look, I used to do the occasional Taco Bell run because I do like Taco Bell, but I stopped when my usual order went from $5 to like $12 (it's a fair point that my local Taco Bell is notoriously pricey, but for that amount of $ I'm getting better-quality food, thanks).

It’s the cost.
I can literally eat at Chilis (which I’m not saying is a great restaurant, but it is an actual restaurant with a waiter and refills and a nice place to sit) cheaper than I can eat at Taco Bell.
I remember the early days of our marriage when we were in college/grad school and it was cheaper to eat fast food than go grocery shopping.
