Good morning. I'm going to pick up sil at the airport this am. I have a video appt this afternoon that is unrelated to my current issue. Dinner is a new recipe. It's a wild rice and veggie soup. Sil will stop at a bakery and buy some fresh bread to go w/the soup. What's on your menu? What are you up to today? jeremysgirl, how is your finger today? May today be a healthy, happy, calm day for everyone.

Have fun with your SIL scrapmaven . I know you two are very close! I have a cut and color at 10 this morning then will try to get my craft room in order. It screams that I'm working on DS's album and I want it to be a Christmas surprise. It looks like we might get some rain. Dinner will be Jalapeno Chicken Poppers.

Today is a beautiful autumn day. Sun is shining, no wind and I can see clear across Lake O to Toronto. Dinner is chicken alfredo and a salad with apple crisp for dessert. scrapmaven ~~ I hope you enjoy the visit with sil and that your appointment goes well. jeremysgirl ~~ Hopefully your finger is on the mend. leannec ~~ What is happening with your job? any updates? cadoodlebug ~~ So very true about the shipping costs. Since the CDN$ is worth less than the US$, I will buy more than simply pay shipping. Usually a difference of less than $20.00 or so. I live very close to the border so I try to get the *free shipping in the USA* deal and only pay $5./box or package at the outlet where things get shipped to. Maybe that is why I have so much fabric & quilting stuff

Thank you cadoodlebug and quiltz. We have an overnight girl's trip scheduled for Monday and I had better be up to going. She's gonna head to mil's house for a few days to do a lot more paperwork sorting. I found an xray receipt from the 1950's for $3.40. My how times have changed. cadoodlebug, my scrap room is really organized and clean right now. There must be a shift in the force. Do some crafting while you're in there. quiltz, are gas prices in Canada as bad as they are in the USA?

cadoodlebug I have definitely added more to my cart for free shipping. I'd rather get something for the money I'm spending. I'll only do it if it's within range of what the shipping costs would be though, I don't go crazy with it. Dinner last night ended up being a shrimp scampi pasta dish. I had some seasoning packets for scampi, and frozen shrimp. Simple and delicious Tonight is in the air yet. Maybe something takeout/pizza? I'm only working part of the day today, I want to take advantage of errands and such in our nice weather. We are in the upper 60s this week (normal is around 45).

scrapmaven how are you doing? Any answers? I am just not feeling well. The antibiotics I am on have well known gastrointestinal side effects. And I'm experiencing the full range of them. All this time my hand has hurt but only yesterday did I finally start to just plain feel sick. You're going to be totally shocked but I sat on the couch under a blanket yesterday and watched Friends. You know I feel bad if I turn on the TV. Especially without some kind of crafting going on too. (I can't craft because of my hand). You want your mind blown even further? I did not drink coffee this morning because I didn't think my stomach could handle it. I had two Powerade. I've been logged in working since 6:30. But I'm taking a break now and I'm going to lay down. Carnitas still weren't thawed yesterday. That will be dinner tonight.

leannec ~~ What is happening with your job? any updates? Long boring story ... - no one has been able to tell me if they even received my return to work documents - no one has been able to tell me if I will be returning to that shitshow school or not because my position there and job assignment no longer exist - I believe they think I am quitting - which I am not I am beyond stressed ... I was sleepwalking the other night! I also have all kinds of body aches and pains and other issues that seem to be stressed related So everything sucks all around ...

jeremysgirl , are you running a fever? You shouldn't be feeling sick. This warrants a call to the hand surgeon. I'm sorry that this is dragging on for you. I have no answers. I have a video visit tmw w/the doctor who told the ER doc what to prescribe, but my neuro-gi's nurse is going to try and get me hooked up w/the infectious disease docs at the BIIIIG hospital today. Please call your hand surgeon now.
leannec , is your union rep throwing up his/her hands in the air or continuing to try and find answers? How frustrating and stressful. UGH!!!!!
kelly8875, maybe put a fun thing in the mix while you're running errands?

Today I had my follow up visit with my doctor after the bloodwork yesterday. Everything is looking fine. We talked about the current situation with my meds - I take Ozempic, which is currently near to impossible to get here - and she gave me a plan to follow while I am waiting for it to be back in stock. I also asked her about which vaccines I need for this winter, and was given my pneumococcal shot before I left, and have an appointment to come back for flu and covid shots in two weeks. I started feeling a bit off during my walk home, so I have taken it easy for the afternoon. My arm is still sore, but I feel OK now - hopefully, that is the worst of it.
Dinner tonight is going to be pasties. I am preparing the filling now, then it needs to cool a bit before I wrap it in pastry to bake.

lostinspace, are gas prices in Canada as bad as they are in the USA? Gas prices really very across the country ... Here in Alberta, we have some of the lowest ... I think it is sitting at around 132.9 per litre for regular ... I don't know what that is in gallons BC is quite a bit higher ... I remember us hauling about six jheri cans full of Alberta gas to the lake in BC to put in the boat every year ... I'm sure ex still does that! I'm just happy that I now have a Jeep that takes regular gas ... the BMW drank premium and that was $$$$$$!

I told the hand doc about this yesterday. She said this is typical with this particular antibiotic. And she said this would not have been the one she would have chosen but did not want to switch me. She told me to do what I can with over the counter remedies and if it gets worse to call her. She suggested that avoiding fatty, spicy food (yum, carnitas) and making sure I'm hydrated (thanks Powerade) are key to minimizing the impact. I have no fever. I just feel like I have a stomach virus.
My stomach is growling. I have a nice loaf of asiago cheese bread that's been great toasted to quiet my stomach. And I'm sipping some ginger tea right now which always makes me feel better.
I'm just saying that last week, I was in so much pain but now finally I feel like it has all caught up to me and my body is reacting to fighting an infection. Mine is not near as bad, I'm sure, but you rest and I'll rest too. Because I think that's mostly what I need.

The gi side effects are normal for a lot of antibiotics. We'll both be fine, but we just have to get through this rough patch and we will, jeremysgirl. leannec, I cannot believe the runaround. Honestly, I just think they have no idea what to do.

Yes scrapmaven other than an occasional sinus infection I'm not a person who gets very physically sick. It's even rare I have a headache. My sick days are usually used for my mental health. You all know that so it probably feels weird to hear me complaining about being physically sick. And maybe I'm a big baby about it because it's so foreign to me. 😂 But I know I need to just lay here for a little while.

Sorry for the tummy trouble jeremysgirl - I have a problematic stomach so any and everything will throw it off. I am on pins and needles waiting on a decision on a big project I've been working on - send all the good vibes my way for positive resolution! If we get delayed again tomorrow it will drag through the holidays and really bum me out! Dinner tonight is some kind of cajun shrimp thing from Blue Apron. Take care all!

First day back from vacation and catching up! We have to hit the store after work since SO ate all the food in the house and there is nothing to even try to pick from! I haven't caught up on the Dinner Tribe yet, but I hope everyone is doing well or getting there! FYI, Queen was great. I enjoyed it very much! We were at their last show for this tour.

We’re having taco chicken salads for dinner.
I’m sorry so many are suffering with medical issues. My knee began acting up after driving 3 hours on Thursday.
I’ve been continuing to work on my wedding album and hope to complete it by Friday when I’m doing some revamping of my scrapbooking area.

Good morning (ish)!
Work is kind of slow today and there are things I should be doing around the house yet I'm not motivated. I'm not sure what dinner will be tonight. I had leftover fajitas for lunch from dinner out last night so I'll have to scrounge and see what I can come up with. I'm trying to save money but my heart is telling me to Door Dash it tonight so hopefully, I'll find something decent in the fridge.
Have a good day everyone!

Hi Everyone, scrapmaven Hugs! Enjoy your time with your SIL. I hope that you start feeling much better soon. cadoodlebug I hope you enjoyed your hair appointment. Your dinner sounds great. quiltz That must be an incredible view! Your dinner sounds delicious. kelly8875 I hope you get all of your errands done. taylortroop It’s wonderful that your DH can now drive and visit with his friend. jeremysgirl Hugs! Please keep an eye out on how you are feeling. I don’t understand why the hand surgeon didn’t put you on her choice of antibiotics. leannec I hope your union rep gets answers soon. I understand why you feel out of sorts. sueg It’s wonderful that your numbers are good. I heard the pneumonia shot really hurts your arm. christine58 Have a fabulous time at your crop. scrappert It’s great that you enjoyed your vacation and Queen. KelleeM I hope your knee stops hurting and I want your dinner. Tearisci Don’t worry about not being motivated. Maybe it’s just your body and mind needing a break to heal. Hugs! Today I unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher, which caused my body to start hurting. Now I am on here. I am having a good day in spite of it. Last night DH wanted Italian food, so I got a pizza and that’s what is for dinner tonight. I hope all of you have a peaceful rest of the day!

Goodness! Sending everyone hugs and get well wishes! 💕
I went to urgent care for my cough (mostly because DH has been treating me like I'm typhoid Mary...), and they said it's a respiratory infection (but not Covid or the flu), so I got some prescription cough syrup and steroids.
Dinner this week is rice and pork in some diced tomatoes. It's not the best, but it's not terrible. We'll survive another few days on it.
I need to go to Costco sometime this week as well. I thought I was smart and was buying a 200-count of laundry pods... Opened it yesterday, and it's the powder detergent. If it was just us, I wouldn't be as concerned, but we have a sneaky little feline who likes to get into things she shouldn't. Yes, the detergent is sealed, in a plastic bin, behind the pantry door, but she's not the brightest sometimes.

lostinspace, are gas prices in Canada as bad as they are in the USA? Gas is always more in Canada plus the CDN$ isn't doing very well in the World Market. 1 US gallon of gas = 3.78541 1 litre of gas = $1.49 1.49 x 3.78541 = 5.6402609 US$ per gallon in Canada + exchange rate of $1.40 I usually pay about $3.49 US$/US gallon I pay $1.40 per $1/US It costs me $4.89 with exchange per US gallon of gas It is a bit cheaper to buy in the USA but add in bridge toll of $5.00 US$ per trip so it depends. I make my trips a bit more worthwhile as right now Aldi has butter $2.49/lb and cream cheese $1.19/250g and other items on sale. I also pick up packages with fabric stuffs along with shopping. I consider most of the *extra* expenses as entertainment, because I am entertained when shopping in your country.

Sending healing vibes to all that need them.
I went in to the office early, thinking I would have it all to myself. Nope. Two employees were there. I told them they they must like that place much better than I do😂
Left work and enjoyed a two hour lunch with my besties. We have been friends since we were toddlers. We never run out f things to talk about.
I just got back from a long walk. Another med 60 degree day here. Taking advantage of them because I heard a chance of snow next week.
Dinner is going to be ham and scalloped potatoes.
