I just went to Amazon to order my dog’s food because I noticed my standing autoship order from Chewy didn’t have it. Apparently the flavor I always use was out of stock. I wish they had notified me so that I could pick another flavor. Placing a regular order from Chewy takes about 5 days to arrive so I went with Amazon, which turned out to be cheaper. I went ahead and checked some of the other items on my autoship order and found the cat food cans were on cyber Monday sale so I ordered a case for them. Then I remembered that I wanted to get some electric socket extenders that had a couple of usb ports on top. Picked up a few of those on sale. And got an 3-pack of 10 ft charging cables so that I can watch a movie with the iPad plugged in since it doesn’t hold a charge for very long anymore. And then I saw these rechargeable magnetic strip lights that are usually used in closets or under your kitchen cabinet. You can set it to be motion activated, which will be great for the closets. I already have several of the type that plug in and come on at night. I don’t sleep well and I’m frequently up wandering around to get things at night. Oh, and after thinking about the apron suggestion the other day I decided to go ahead and get another one. Mine is packed in a box. An unlabeled box. I need to work on putting refinishing conditioner on my wood furniture and don’t want to wait to locate my apron. It is a nice heavy-duty black canvas apron with pockets for $15. That is a small price to pay to save a pair of jeans and a shirt. www.amazon.com/dp/B08SL1FD3P?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1And finally, I decided to splurge and get another set of earphones. I like the kind with the soft rubber over-the-ear piece so that they don’t fall out when I’m waking around. They were 52% off, making them $23.99. I will probably keep these in the house and use my old ones to listen to podcasts when I am working outside. Nothing exciting, but all practical and useful items.

I have never had smart bulbs, but I am intrigued. Smart bulbs are so very nice. Especially if you have an Alexa near. I don’t know how the type without a hub will work, but the kind I had before, you just plug in the hub and then download the app for them. You set up the bulbs, either by themselves or in groups. For example, my downstairs family room had two can lights over the sofa. I paired those and when heading downstairs I would tell Alexa to turn on the family room to 50% so that I could see to make my coffee in the adjacent kitchen but it wouldn’t be too bright. You have full control over the level of light and depending on the style, some have color options too. I had one at the top of my stairs to make sure that was lit before I headed up or down the stairs. It is nice to have it voice controlled if you are carrying things in your hands too. I also had them in my bedroom lamps on the nightstands. I could have the room fully lit before walking into it and could turn the lights either down to soft lighting or completely off. I know none of this is absolutely necessary, but the convenience and safety aspect made it invaluable to me. I have my lights plugged into an Alexa plug. Is that the same?

I got an echo pop for my bathroom so that I can listen to podcasts while I get ready for work. They are $17.99 on Amazon for black Friday right now. I know, I probably shouldn't put one in my bathroom, but I'm just going to deal with it. I have an Echo Show in my bathroom and I love it because I listen to audiobooks while I'm getting ready in the mornings. It's seriously one of my favorite things ever! Because it's the Show model the screen also rotates showing the time, weather, news stories that you can tell Alexa to show you, and a few other things. I love being able to see the weather at a glance. You're going to really enjoy having it to listen to your podcasts! Maybe I need to get one to replace my bedroom echo dot. Funny, I often ask "Alexa, what time is it" before turning on lights. Or a simple "what's the temperature? If she simply answers as in "7:02" or "45 degrees" it's all is good. It's when she elaborates or adds on unsolicited longer winded advice that trouble happens. My boy cat thinks that thing shouldn't be talking (music is fine) so he bats down onto the floor. I often don't know (he sometimes waits a bit til he thinks I'm not looking) until the next time I ask her something and it comes out muffled. That's when I know she's upside down with a mouth full of carpet. 😂 ETA I ordered the 18 buck pop. Wanted another for garage when I'm putzing around out there. Maybe I'll use the dot there and see if the pop is heavy enough to be a deterrent. Although I would miss the chuckle I get every time the good bops it. Lol

Not the same thing, but certainly performs somewhat the same service! One difference is that with the plug, you can only tell Alexa to turn a switch on or off. With the bulbs, you have the option to tell Alexa a percentage of light so that you can dim the bulbs. You can also change the color of the bulb if you have that type. I didn’t use the color function often, but it was nice to dim the bulbs and make them a soft yellow at times.

Lol My pup associates Alexa talking with a package being at the door. When I have it tell me a notification, he jumps up and looks at it, then runs to the front door and barks. If I don’t follow him out there, he comes back and jumps on my leg and looks at me expectantly and barks in my face. He gets so disappointed if Alexa has just told me it is going to rain and there is no package to sniff.

I know none of this is absolutely necessary, but the convenience and safety aspect made it invaluable to me. I started getting on that bandwagon about a year ago when Costco had some bulbs pretty reasonably priced in a two pack. I like them, DH, not so much because the Google Home Mini doesn’t recognize his voice so she just ignores his commands, LOL. We’ve had the smart plugs for a few years now and they make it so convenient for things like turning the Christmas tree lights on and off (and being able to turn them off remotely when you remember you forgot to turn them off before you left the house) without having to climb around under the tree. After monkeying around with switching out the front house carriage lights with Halloween bulbs and switching them back after Halloween for ten years, it occurred to me that I could just put a set of smart bulbs in those lights and change the colors with my phone at will. 💡 🤔 I had them set on orange for Halloween, changed them to gold for Thanksgiving and will switch them to red and green for Christmas! Those bulbs have sat in the closet for about three years because I couldn’t think of a good spot where I could utilize the color function, and this is perfect. I had a friend who bought a house years ago that had been built by someone big into tech and automation. They had the whole house designed with automated lights that turned on and off automatically when you’d open a closet door or enter a room. It had whole house intercoms and an integrated music system, that kind of thing. It all freaked my friend out so much that she and her DH had all of it disabled! I couldn’t believe it, I would have loved that for the most part, especially if you could set how bright or dim the lights were.

I’m getting a new Apple Watch 9 next week! I finally broke down and bought one because Costco had it for $60 off. Merry Christmas to meeeeee! I have a Fitbit that I bought myself last Black Friday. Just got it warranty replaced so it’s “new” 😂 no need for an Apple Watch but they sure are pretty. My bank account can’t hang with more new apple stuff this year. We bought DD’s phone, a new mbp for me, a switch with games and controllers and steering wheels and leg straps, and now my phone along with all the covers and cases for said tech. I’ve wanted one since they first came out but couldn’t justify the expense. I wear a watch every single day so it’s something I will absolutely use. And since DH bought himself a new motorcycle a year ago, a new wave runner this past summer and a new snowmobile last winter, I figured what the hell. I ought to get something nice that I want too. I’ve got some catching up to do, LOL.

I'm like- dude, you do a more important job than me! You take care of our kids and the house, I just provide the cash.

Converse has a great sale going on right now - grabbed a pair for $30 after taxes and shipping. DD wears nothing but Converse hightops, so I grab them when I find them on sale.
I spent 45 minutes today at Joann's waiting to get fleece at $3.99 a yard for DD's guinea pig cage.

Absolutely nothing. I am part of the reason the stores were empty. Cyber Monday will not be getting any money from me either. I'm just not in the shopping mood. I thought I wanted a new computer but I'm too lazy to shop for one.

Well I bought a lot of streaming deals Hulu/Disney for 2.99 and added on starz for 6 months for .99
Peacock for 19.99 for the year Max for 2.99 for 6 months
I went to Bath and Body Works to smell a few things snd ended up buying some candles as I didn’t want to deal with them next week as they couldn’t confirm when the sale is going to be or the cost. I didn’t buy that many candles and decided it just wasn’t worth having to look every day in the app. I’m glad I went in though as the scent I love and would have told my husband I wanted the candles smelled weird and nothing like the lotion/shower gel but I found others I liked. The store was really busy and the line was long to checkout. My husband hates the smell and my son doesn’t do crowds so I shopped for my birthday presents.
My coffee went on sale on Amazon it’s been in saved for later for a while snd has never dropped but it did do I ordered it along with some nail polish I liked.
I’m debating a dust ruffle snd some bathroom rugs at Target. I guess worst case I return them. They don’t carry at my store.
Nothing exciting but a few fun things. I missed a sale on air purifier filters but oh well. Maybe I will catch it the next time it was during prime days and I wasn’t fast enough and hoped they would reappear during BF or cyber Monday but oh well.

I bought the estee lauder set for 85$ and then a few extras to get the other bonuses. I bought tons of curl smith products at 40% off (not sure if this is a good deal or not) and I ordered some suiting from Talbots for 50% OFF.
I am not sure these are the best deals but they are things I use and was needing and I figured why not?

La Colombe Coffee has 30% off + another 10% off and free shipping. I order all my coffee beans from them and usually stock up this time of year. This is my referral if anyone is interested: refer.lacolombe.com/rhondahorton We'll both get $10 if you use it. I lucked out and a cashmere-blend poncho that my daughter had on her Christmas list went on sale at JCrew and I was able to get it. These emails need to go away though... they're so tempting!
