Hi, all,
Welcome to the Quarter 1/Valentine's Day 2024 Card Exchange. This exchange will be open for sign up until January 13th. I'll get the list sent out shortly after the sign up closes. Cards are due by February 14th.
Rules (as usual):
1. You may use the name and address that you’re comfortable sharing. PEA name only? OK! First name only? OK! Dog’s name? OK! PO Box? OK! The form does require your Pea name in order that we can satisfy the requirement of rule 4.
2. The type of card you send (handmade, store bought, photo, postcard) is entirely up to you.
3. Please send to as many PEAS as you are able to. Please note that you may receive more or less cards than you send out.
4. This exchange is for active members of the board. Therefore, the exchange is restricted to members with at least 50 posts (Junior Member rank) only.
Interested? Here's the link to sign up.<<closed>>
Thanks everyone. I'll do my best to answer any qustions you might have. Since someone usually asks, the quarterly exchanges are not limited, but they've been running between 25-30 participants on average for the last couple of years.

I have been wanting to do one of these! Question, do we write something inside the card or leave it blank so people can use it? (I thinking handmade). Also, should they be valentine themed?

I have been wanting to do one of these! Question, do we write something inside the card or leave it blank so people can use it? (I thinking handmade). Also, should they be valentine themed? It's really up to you. The card is meant to be sent as a greeting so almost everyone signs them, but it's up to your discretion. You don't have to do Valentines Day if you don't want to. Some people just send thinking of you or hello cards. We do usually frame these quarterly swaps around seasonal themes though...Valentine's Day, Easter/spring, summer/happy mail, and Halloween/fall, but we leave it open for those who don't celebrate these holidays or live in a part of the world other than North America.

Honestly (and I hope this doesn't make anyone not want to send to me), I generally keep all my happy mail Pea exchange cards on display until the next quarter's start to arrive. Then I do my best to remake the last quarter's into new cards to donate to Bring Smiles to Seniors and/or Cards for Kindness. Usually just by putting the card front on a new base, of course. If someone sent me one with one the Taylored Expressions inside post-its or similar, I'd probably still donate it rather than reusing it myself.

I don't typically re-use a card someone else has made. The only exception is if I receive something made with Lawn Fawn stamps. My BFF loves LF so I usually re-work those cards and send them to her. I have stacks of previously received cards to be re-worked & donated - I just need to actually do it!

I just signed up and hope to start working on the design soon . I love getting happy mail and making the cards is a lot of fun - also a great excuse to buy a few things I may not have purchased otherwise LOL.

I meant to comment previously but couldn't remember my password. LOL I did sign up and look forward to another exchange! I bought Valentine's paper today. YAYY!! Thinking about my card design so I can order anything I need to obtain online right away. We don't have the craft stores here that many of you do, and that makes obtaining supplies a challenge.

I have done lots of swaps and it’s nice for when I need a card on the fly.
