Good morning.
Today I am going to dig into the puzzle that I'm trying to finish. Apart from that, it's just standard chores, like dusting.
Dh wants take out from a local dumpling place.
What's on your menu?
What are you up to this weekend?
I think we're gonna have a cozy indoor weekend and avoid rain.
May this weekend be fun and relaxing for everyone.

Good Afternoon
I've had a fairly low-key day today. Worked on my Bullet Journal course, went for a walk, did some knitting. Tonight we are going out for dinner to a restaurant called Spice Bazaar. They serve Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine and DH said when he went with a group from work a few weeks back, the food was delicious and they didn't manage to finish it all. They even had one older German in the group who complained when he saw that one of the dishes was tofu, then was convinced to try it and took the leftovers home with him!
My weekend is busier than usual. First Reconciliation with my Sunday school kids tomorrow afternoon, then our regular First Communion class on Sunday before Mass. After this week, we have a couple of weeks off, as there is a school break coming up.

I’m feeling much worse today. I didn’t sleep well last night because I was so stuffed up and couldn’t breathe out my nose. Breathing out my mouth made it so dry that I couldn’t swallow. It was a rough night. I think it’s probably just a cold but I’ll do a Covid test in a bit.
Grandboy #1 was supposed to come for a sleepover tonight but we’ve cancelled that. DH has taken him out for the day to my other DS’s house where they will do some work and burn some wood in the fire pit.
I am snuggled in the recliner chair with my book, drink and box of tissues. No idea on supper.

I'm just eating some late breakfast now and then I will go for groceries ... my fridge is bare! The day will be pretty low key ... enjoying the last of my free days before I start subbing sometime next week ... Dinner will probably be pasta of some sort! Yum! I think I am getting together with a dude that I have been chatting with for over a year ... not sure about him but I am interested! We'll see what happens. Sorry that you are feeling so rough taylortroop ... colds suck! Hope it's not Covid!

Happy Friday!
it's a pretty lowkey day at work but I can't get one of my apps to work to download reports so that's frustrating.
Didn't end up going to dinner with the parents last night so we'll go tonight, probably to a local Italian place I've been craving.
Hope you all have a good day and a relaxing weekend.

taylortroop sorry you have Covid. Rest and feel better soon! The delivery person just called and will be here in about 40 minutes with my fridge and dishwasher. After that I have a couple of returns to do and ds wants me to take him to his friend’s house. Dinner is going to be chowder. I’m using haddock, shrimp and clams and hope it turns out good! karenlou is the best chowder maker in the family😊

taylortroop , sorry you have Covid. Take care and get lots of rest. jeremysgirl , I read your update on your job. What a mess. You have gone above and beyond, I hope that new job comes through. It's nasty outside so I'll work on projects today. Oh, we signed up for a trip to Portugal in 2026! How's that for optimism? TGIF!!

it's just standard chores, like dusting. Yuck on dusting. My cleaning lady does that and it would be worth the price just for the shower and the dusting. Hahaha.. Covid test was positive! That really wasn’t what I was expecting. Oh, I'm sorry. Dinner is up in the air... DH didn't get the job. What a bummer! Hopefully something better comes along. I read your update on your job. What a mess. You have gone above and beyond, I hope that new job comes through. I really don't know what to do anymore. My head is just spinning all over the place. They are doing interviews Tuesday and Thursday. So hopefully I'll know something by the end of next week.

jeremysgirl, I think you did the right thing by going to HR. You had to do something. I'm going to cross all fingers and have kitties cross their paws that you get the new job next week and that it's a great fit for you.
KelleeM, I love the flooring that you chose.

I'm sorry your DH didn't get the job, hoping there is something else in the horizon that is better for him rymeswithpurpleHoping you feel better soon taylortroopI will be getting my car back tonight. Did they fix anything? No. Is the car starting like normal? Yes, for 4 days so far. Am I confident to drive this car anywhere? No. I will take the weekend to test it all out. Drive around like I'm going to the store and park it in the garage, come out half hour later, drive around again and park it. One day I will start it, drive around, park it and then not touch it until "I get off work" then see what it does. This will be fun, right? They did not charge me for anything so I guess that's good. But then again, they didn't touch it for 5 days. And it has been there since January 16th. I am glad it is Friday, no plans for dinner yet. I want to hibernate. Next week I leave to go out to my sister's then to my dad's to do inventory and clean up some more of his condo. This will be my first time going there after he passed. We will also have a Celebration of Life for him at the American Legion. It is going to be an emotional week. I leave on Thursday and come back the following Thursday.

Thanks, all. He's upset, but there's really not much that can be done. I think what's getting him down the most is that they said that they went with someone with more experience, but then why bring him all the way out there if that's what was going to happen? We drove 4 1/2 hours to my parents, and then finished the trip (5 hours) the next day, so it was definitely a lot for us to do for that.

scrappert, do you have another dealer, nearby that you can take it to? That they did nothing tells me that they forgot about it. Next week we'll be here if you need a safe place to call home, while you are feeling the sadness from your dad's passing. Sorting through your father's stuff will be difficult, but you might have some good feelings, too as you reminisce. ((((HUGS)))). rymeswithpurple, they must have been down to the last 2 or 3 candidates. Your dh will find a great fit.

cadoodlebug , what a wonderful trip. Will you go to Spain, too? No. When we went to Spain in 2018, 3 couples in our group went on to Portugal for a week. We were sad that we didn't do that too. So when this trip came up, we jumped on it. They are expecting 35 travelers and 24 have already signed up. We know most of them from previous trips. It's rather funny that we planned for the Croatia trip in 2022 to be our last to Europe. Now we've got Scandinavia/Iceland in May, the Greek Isles (2025) and Portugal booked. We're nuts. We'll be pushing 80 for Portugal but it's just a number, right??

scrappert on our CRV our car would suddenly not start. We replaced the battery and alternator and it would still happen. Turned out it needed a software update. I'm the one that figured it out brought it in and asked them to have it checked out. I was proven right. taylortroop I'm so sorry to hear that you have Covid. Praying it passes quickly. rymeswithpurple how disappointing for your DH. cadoodlebug what a lovely trip. jeremysgirl how awful that you are still dealing with this. scrappintoee they did not have any witnesses or cameras to find the culprit. DS still has residual stiffness and needs to exercise his knee daily. Thank you for asking. I'm not sure what we will have for dinner. Probably takeout.

Happy Friday! Tried to pop in yesterday but it turned into a crazy day for me. The designer dropped off a replacement lamp, a bathroom rug (too long so back it went) and we made a decision on a new shower curtain. Then I had to make a run to the storage unit, walk DD's dog and get the pest control company out to set a live trap for the possum who took up residence in the rafters of the garage earlier in the week. Had to walk DD's dog again so dinner was rechauffe. Today is nearly as crazy! First up was to have them come fetch the possum who took the bait (wet cat food). He was relocated to an extremely large public park a couple of miles from here. I'm sure he'll make lots of new little possum friends! Then met with another financial planner (think we may have found the right one this time). Now I'm off to HEB to fill the fridge and pick up medicines. Expecting a very rainy/stormy overnight but it is supposed to clear out of here by noon tomorrow. I'll need to roll down the umbrella and put away the cushions. Once I finally get all that done there will be some sewing time! Not sure what dinner will be tonight. Hoping for divine inspiration while at HEB. I will be getting my car back tonight. What model car do you have? DH has a 2020 Mercedes sedan that has been doing the same thing for the past few months. They could never find anything wrong, even though they kept the car 3 days one time. He took it in this week for a 10,000 mile service and they changed out the starter battery because it failed the test (even though they tested it a couple of months ago and claimed it was fine). Ask if your car has that and see if they can change it out. Now we've got Scandinavia/Iceland in May, I hope you enjoy Iceland and Norway as much as DD and I did! Both were beautiful countries. We went end of May/early June and nearly froze in Iceland (turned out to be the coldest May in 100 years). When we flew over to Oslo they were experiencing a heat wave and temperatures were pushing 90! DD had to stop at Massimo Dutti and buy some shorts!

I was just scrolling quickly to see if jeremysgirl got ANY sleep last night, since your last post said you were scared. I kept thinking "can she go to her Mom's, sister's, a friend's to sleep?" But you have a puppy, I think? So I guess not. Did you think of asking someone to come stay with you? I hope you finally got some rest. I'm off to Physical Therapy soon. My new pain issues are trying so hard to get me down, and I'm fighting them! It's a grey, cold RAINY day (again ! )..ugh! BUT----we had several days of sunshine, so I sat outside reading a good book, and it was glorious !!!! Amazing what sunshine can do for our moods, huh? Dinner---I have no idea.

You can travel as long as you can travel. There isn't an age limit! Keep planning trips. That's part of what will keep you going, too. When I see people in their 90's skydiving then I know that you can travel for several more years.

I need a nap so bad I'm drinking a ton of coffee right now. Sleep is such a huge thing for me so even one poor night of it and I feel like a zombie. Thanks for asking. I plan to go get Chloe at work this afternoon and then come home and put on my PJs.

Are you looking fwd to subbing leannec ? Will you be subbing in all grades, including elementary, middle and high school? Not really I would rather be "retired", kwim? I also haven't worked in more than a year so it's going to be tough mentally and physically for awhile ... But easier than having my own classroom! I will only be subbing in secondary grades so grades 7 to 12 ... I'm not comfortable in elementary - at all!
