So much for letting people decide, states’ rights and all of the other excuses that conservatives tried to sell us on. It’s always been about controlling women. Look at all of the despicable things the old white male Republicans have said just this week. Trump referred to women as housewives and said something about women voting for him because they’re afraid of migrants climbing in through their windows. Charlie Kirk said something offensive about women over 30. They’re not in their prime and not as attractive in the dating pool. He also said birth control makes “young ladies” angry and bitter. Bannon said convincing women to vote for Trump is a waste or resources. In other words, we don’t care what you think, we’re not even going to pretend to care. This was said in 2020, but the video was discovered recently. Robinson, the Trump endorsed candidate for governor in North Carolina said he wanted to go back to the America where women can’t vote.

I love Gene. He’s one of our spiciest state reps. And he’s spot on about this. They used to blame things on affirmative action. Then CRT and wokeness for a little while, but those didn’t stick so they recently switched to DEI. They’ve been blaming airline safety issues in general on DEI. The door blowing off? DEI. They’re trying to suggests planes are less safe because of DEI The Baltimore bridge collapse? Blame it on DEI because the mayor is black. So completely illogical- what do they think a white mayor could have done to stop the bridge from collapsing? DEI was at fault for the Silicone Valley banks failing, too.

I understand. It was terrible and should not have happened. And yet no one was charged with insurrection. So if someone kills someone (technically a murder), but instead is charged with manslaughter to make sure that some accountability is gotten because of a very complicated court process and our propensity (rightly so) to make sure that innocent people are not falsely convicted, then is it still a murder by true definition? The murderer wasn’t charged with murder. To take it one step further - say it was your family member that was killed, would you be telling people well there was no murder because technically no one was charged with murder? IF that is the case that is really interesting take on it. Point taken. I still believe it wasn't an insurrection.

Family separation was such a disaster, the Biden administration is still trying to reunite families. The fact that Trump would consider doing it again is horrific and speaks to his cruel bullying tactics.
Tonight, Donald Trump is holding a fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago with architects of his family separation policy.
It’s part of his Project 2025 plan to rip children from their mothers.
Trump continues to brag about ripping children from their parents: “We did, for a period of time, family separation”
Trump wants to rip away children from the arms of their mothers again in a second term:
Q: But would you re-implement family separation?
Trump: Well, we have to save our country…
Q: Sounds like that’s a yes?
Trump: We will say to families, we’re going to break you up
Q: Will you reinstitute your family separation policy?
Trump: *defends the policy, calling it effective”
Last term, Trump separated thousands of vulnerable children from their families.
More than 4,000 children were ripped away
Trump calls immigrants “animals,” “not people,” “sick,” “monsters,” “poison.”
He wants to round them up in mass detention camps in a military-style operation larger than one called “Operation Wetback.”
And he wants to orphan children from their families

Interesting comparison This is an extraordinary paragraph from Frank Donatelli, the consummate Republican regular, a Reagan guy who was McCain's man at RNC in '08 Sympathy for the Jan. 6 rioters is now widespread within the “normal” GOP as well as among MAGA voters. Trump refers to the criminals convicted in attacking the Capitol as “hostages” and promises to pardon them if reelected. Jan. 6 is now ingrained in the minds of Republicans in the same way that the myth of the antebellum South once resonated with Southern segregationists, putting racial justice in the South on hold for nearly a century. This also led to Republican dominance in post-Civil War America, as Democrats and the South hung on to grievances surrounding the war. This same sense of self-isolation and cultural alienation has now infected the Republican Party. thehill.com/opinion/campaign/4573421-trumps-gop-isnt-built-to-win-but-only-to-protect-himself/Donald Trump’s family has taken personal control of the Republican National Committee, and it is already beginning to resemble the D.C. branch of the Trump Organization rather than one that represents all Republicans. Isolationism, anger and grievance, chaos and authoritarianism. These are not winning issues for Republicans, yet that is where the party is headed for the near term

If you believe Jan 6 was not an insurrection, you’re in good company with RFK Jr
In his own words, this so perfectly sums up the conspiracist and the dishonest broker that RFK Jr is: He hasn’t examined the evidence…BUT he doesn’t think it was an insurrection, and he’s concerned the prosecution of the Jan 6 defendants was politically-motivated. But he hasn’t really examined the evidence.
RFK Jr., in a new statement on Jan. 6, states: “I have not examined the evidence in detail, but reasonable people, including Trump opponents, tell me there is little evidence of a true insurrection.”
Kennedy also says he is “concerned about the possibility that political objectives motivated the vigor of the prosecution of the J6 defendants

The Maine state rep may have been talking about neo-nazis, but she didn’t make that distinction clear. The point about fascism and Trump holds true.
To allow Fascism to take over, you have to whitewash its history and turn its victims into perpetrators. It is an agenda that Trump ("Hitler did some good things"), Fuentes, Gosar, and so many more in America have worked on for years.

Thought so. Just like questions that you refuse to answer and falsehoods that you refuse to correct. All of them would be easy to answer, you are just deflecting and choosing not to. Speaking of lying, you falsely accused me of saying that the police officer in NYC was nothing special. I pointed out that this was wrong, but you still have not changed that either. Similar to extremist Republican politicians when you can’t argue something based on merits, you choose to deflect and attack others. I’m guessing one of your next posts will be more deflection, insulting others or playing the victim card. And this conversation has gone way past the point where it’s productive. I also haven’t seen anything acknowledging that crime statistics are not based on convictions, so her wild statements about crime not actually being down in blue cities are false. I must have missed that one. I did respond to that. You must have missed it.

I did not want to hear from people who do NOT think so, because WE HAD ALREADY HEARD FROM THEM. I'm sorry that is so hard for you to comprehend. You just want to hear from people who believe as you do Just the fact that I'm reading things here from people that do not think the same as I do, and interacting with them, does not support your claim.

Is that supposed to be "Trump threatening Biden’s life"? Problem with him doing stuff like this could led one of his crazier followers to try and kill these individuals because they’re poainted by trump as his enemies. I don't agree that posting a picture of Biden is "threatening his life". That's quite the leap. But let's apply your standard in the other direction. I don't recall your outrage over the possibility that Biden’s wishing to beat up Trump "could lead one of his crazier followers to try and kill, because of being painted by biden as his enemies." I also don't recall your outrage over the possibility that all the other democrats talking about violence towards Trump or supporters "could lead one of Biden’s crazier followers to try and kill, because of being painted by democrats as enemies."

Remember when Trump threatened to withhold money and supplies for covid from Democratic governors? Or tried to withhold aid for wildfires from California? Compare that to President Biden who is the president for all Americans and does not hesitate to help in a crisis, regardless of where it happens. moments of crisiswww.nbcnews.com/news/latino/new-probe-confirms-trump-officials-blocked-puerto-rico-receiving-hurri-rcna749New probe confirms Trump officials blocked Puerto Rico from receiving hurricane aid The Trump administration also obstructed an investigation looking into why it was depriving the U.S. territory of congressionally approved funds, the report found. www.nytimes.com/2020/03/30/opinion/trump-federal-aid-coronavirus.htmlAt a news conference last week, Trump said that he had instructed Vice President Mike Pence, whom he has placed in charge of the coronavirus response, not to call the governors of some blue states where the pandemic is raging. “I say: ‘Mike, don’t call the governor of Washington. You’re wasting your time with him. Don’t call the woman in Michigan,’” he said, adding, “If they don’t treat you right, I don’t call.”

Exactly when did President Biden “wish to beat up dumpster don”? When exactly did Democrats talk about violence against trump? Provide examples of what you are claiming. You made accusations about how Democrats responded to trump’s patriotic thing he did when he took the oath of office. I went looking for examples of what you were claiming couldn’t find any. When I asked about it I believe you said it happened on this board. So I’m not looking anymore for what you claim happens. Want people to buy what you’re selling provide examples.

The only reason you interact with folks on this board is because when you throw out one of your opinions you don’t like when people don’t agree. That when we get the only one opinion applies and moving the goal post whining. Proof you don’t like people to disagree with you is this poll and the answer you didn’t include.

So what part of a violent uprising against an authority or government wasn’t a true insurrection?
