side that was trying to cook up false accusations againstTrump. George Papadopoulos @georgepapa19 đšBREAKING: Charles McGonigal, the ex head of counter intelligence at the FBI, and Peter Strzokâs boss, who was also in charge of my âcase,â has just been sentenced to an additional two years in prison for scheming with Albanian intelligence officials. Nor can you make up the fact when the Mueller Team was tasked with investigating Russia collusion they were specifically told NOT to investigate trumpâs finances.
trump has always had money problems and if you want to find the truth about oneâs actions you follow the money.
But yet Mueller was told not to investigate trumpâs finances. Why was that I wonder.
But the Mueller report had, what was it, 10 potential claims of obstruction of Justice that were ignored. Why was that I wonder?

The lack of arrests does not prove innocence on Trump's side. The arrest of a McGonigal for colluding with a Russian oligarch does not prove Trump's innocence or wrongdoing on the part of other FBI investigators. McGonigal was never involved in the investigation into the Trump campaign's contacts in Russia. Some additional points asharangappa.substack.com/p/some-considerations-before-russianWas McGonigal involved in the investigation into the Trump campaignâs contacts with Russia?
No. As detailed by former FBI agent Peter Strzok in his book, Compromised: Counterintelligence and the Threat of Donald J. Trump (and also explained in footnote 465 of the Mueller Report), the counterintelligence case that became âCrossfire Hurricaneâ was opened on July 29, 2016 in Washington, D.C. under the authority of Bill Priestap, then Assistant Director of the FBIâs Counterintelligence Division at FBI headquarters (with approval from his then boss, Andrew McCabe). Crossfire Hurricane was therefore outside of McGonigalâs purview.
Itâs worth mentioning that the initial investigative phase in Crossfire Hurricane has been reviewed with a fine-toothed comb not one, not two, but THREE times. First by Special Counsel Robert Mueller when he took over the investigation; then by DOJâs Inspector General in reviewing whether the investigation was politically motivated (he found that it wasnât); and then by Special Counsel John Durham, who hasnât found anything but two nothingburger indictments and a bunch of crickets. I would think that any unauthorized access or outside tampering would have been discovered in one of these reviews, but McGonigalâs name has not surfaced in any of them.

The fact is we still donât know trumpâs connection to Russia specifically Putin. And the reason, I have already said it once but will say it again, in the investigation they did not follow the money. Specifically trumpâs finances. Anyone knows that for these types of investigations following the money should be at the top of the list to investigate. But yet Mueller was specifically told not to investigate trumpâs finances. So no the American people still donât if there is a connection between trump and Putin that led to collusion.

Accusations of Russian collusion by the Trump campaign werenât false. Mueller said so himself in his report. He just said he couldnât charge Trump with any crimes. Not because he didnât commit any, but because DOJ policy doesnât allow it. 'Russian collusion' was a hoax. The FBI does not dispute the special counsel's findings, but says it has already taken action and added safeguards in its investigations. After four years, we finally have the full 316-page report from Justice Department special counsel John Durham, and itâs a damning indictment of some of our countryâs leading institutions. Durham said the FBI should have never launched an investigation into alleged Russian collusion with Donald Trumpâs 2016 campaign, given the slim evidence. Durham slammed the FBIâs investigation â dubbed Crossfire Hurricane â into the Trump campaign for its âserious lack of analytic rigorâ and a âcavalier attitudeâ for accuracy. â...We conclude that the Department and the FBI failed to uphold their important mission of strict fidelity to the law in connection with certain events and activities described in this report,â Durham wrote. For its part, the FBI does not dispute the reportâs findings, but says it has already taken action and added safeguards in its investigations. Durham also called out the role of the (now-discredited) Steele dossier, the opposition research gathered for the Hillary Clinton campaign that was in turn given to the FBI. Durham said the dossier was âunvetted and unverified,â yet was used as justification for surveillance. âIndeed, based on the evidence gathered in multiple exhaustive and costly federal investigations of these matters, including the instant investigation, neither U.S. law enforcement nor the Intelligence Community appears to have possessed any actual evidence of collusion in their holdings at the commencement of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation," the report stated. The political implications are clear, and the report highlights the favoritism shown to the Clinton campaign over Trumpâs. Give Biden family the Trump treatment As Durham details, the FBI fumbled the âcollusionâ investigation. But mainstream media outlets also deserve blame for breathlessly going along with the Trump-Russia allegations. The willingness to report negative rumors about Trump is in direct contrast to how the news media have protected President Joe Biden and his family... USA Today opinion

www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/senate-russia-report-proves-trump-was-wrong-mueller-was-right-ncna1237743The right's purpose in labeling this a "hoax" is to allow Russia's influence and interference to continue, while allowing the right to criticize anyone who questions their allyship with Putin. It may not be illegal to praise Putin, meet with Russian operatives, and do other things to court and support Russian influence, but those actions on the part of Trump and his camp should give any thinking American grave concerns about Trump's intentions.

From Newsweek "He was also one of the key figures who helped trigger special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into allegations that Trump's campaign team colluded with Russia to help the former president win the 2016 election." He may or may not have been involved in opening the investigation, but there is no evidence that he was involved in the investigation itself. There is a difference. And there is conflicting information regarding who opened the investigation. Despite the reporting in Newsweek, McGonigal opening Crossfire Hurricane is not a widely accepted or well documented fact. www.newsweek.com/charles-mcgonigal-trump-russia-2016-investigation-muller-1776049McGonigal, while serving as chief of the cybercrimes section at the FBI headquarters in Washington, DC, was among the first FBI officials to be made aware of allegations that George Papadopoulos, a 2016 campaign adviser for Trump, boasted that he knew Russians had political dirt on Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton. This information led to the FBI launching "Crossfire Hurricane," which would examine whether Trump officials had been coordinating "wittingly or unwittingly" with Russia's attempts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election. In September 2020, FBI Deputy Assistant Director Jonathan Moffa said, during Senate Judiciary Committee questioning, he received an email in July 2016 from McGonigal www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/02/13/mcgonigal-albania-deripaska-indictment-fbi/GOP critics ask whether he improperly played a role in the opening of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation into Russiaâs election interference. And Democrats have wondered whether he inappropriately sought to quash the inquiry. McGonigalâs precise role in the investigation remains murky.asharangappa.substack.com/p/some-considerations-before-russianWas McGonigal involved in the investigation into the Trump campaignâs contacts with Russia? The case was opened based on information provided to the bureau by Alexander Downer, Australiaâs ambassador to the U.K., who had overheard the Trump campaignâs foreign policy advisor, George Papadapolous, brag that Russia had obtained dirt on Hillary Clinton. The case was opened because in the wake of the hacking and intrusion against the Democratic National Committee, which had been attributed to Russia, the information suggested that Russia not only intended to weaponize information against a presidential candidate, but potentially enlist the cooperation of members of the Trump campaign. That provided enough information of a potential national security threat to serve as an adequate predicate for the investigation under the Attorney General Guidelines. (That last line is for the benefit of an MAGAs reading this.)about Papadopoulos that "contained essentially that reporting, which then served as the basis for the opening of the case."Crossfire Hurricane was therefore outside of McGonigalâs purview. You might wonder whether McGonigal, as SAC in New York, could nevertheless access ongoing counterintelligence investigations elsewhere. I canât say for sure what else he may have had access to from New York, but Strzok, a lead agent on Crossfire Hurricane, notes the following:
As with our most sensitive investigations, we carefully limited access to our work, setting up a tightly controlled list of individuals with knowledge of the case â known as the âbigot listâ in intelligence parlance, a term dating to World War II that denotes the highest level of secrecy â and prohibiting access to the investigation for anyone else in our file and data systems. Essentially, we made it impossible for anyone other than the small group of investigators assigned to the case to learn anything about our investigation, much less see the information it was generating.

Crickets on the disaster that has become Republicans' star witness against Hunter Biden, eh? Not hard to draw a line from Russia to Smirnov to Trump surrogates like Gym Jordan when you're talking about collusion.
The truth will come out, even if it takes a while.
But I'm wondering if the OP, who frequently was seen to harp on about Biden/Burisma, will let us know how the crow tastes after she's eaten it.
