Hello Spring! Sorry I'm late posting this. I was helping with the Hungarian Festival yesterday and was really tired after a day of dishing out yummy crepes...palacsinta in Hungarian. 😊 Here's the video with downloadable link youtu.be/_gf8M6mhb-0?si=f1ZtgKr4w0cIJb3FProcess video youtu.be/hfBSumjyeBk?si=Yf0GN9_7_Ne_BKpHFor extra 10 points let's use spring inspired colors and images. Have fun creating with this month's SheetLoad! Tagging grammadee

I didn't wait for you -- watched Alicia's videos Friday and yesterday and started my set this morning! But they will be part of my spring exchange cards, so I probably won't share for at least a week or two....

Can't wait to see your cards Shakti. I decided not to sign up for the spring card exchange so I will have to see them here.

I think I see what you did there, but I'm not totally sure.... Its opens from the side. So what I did because didn't want to measure, glued down the 4x4 piece than cut it where that piece ended. I hope this makes sense.

I still have another huge set of last month's to share!! lol. But I've started on this sketch to use up the remnants from the same paper pad, just need to do images and sentiments. The fun fold you did is great. Similar to a mini-slim Sheetload we did a few years back I think.

April 2022 — before I knew about SLoC, but I’ve had that sketch open in a browser tab for months because I like it so!

I used the new sheetload sketch to finish off finishing off a paper pad. They’re not my favorite cards, but they turned out better than I expected. I will come back and do some proper pattern play soon, and maybe do the fun fold version http://instagram.com/p/C4PRNVyrD0D

I'm only halfway through a Sheetload, but they're too cute, have to share now! Using Doodlebug Fairy Garden to make the most ridiculously sweet cards... I typed up my own sentiments with a Doodlebug-esque font on the computer to match the vibe and to make the process go faster. March Sheetload by jo.blackford, on Flickr

These cards are adorable joblackford. I need to check out Doodlebug. Do you get a good deal on them somewhere? My LSS prices are quite high on the ephemera packs.

These cards are adorable joblackford . I need to check out Doodlebug. Do you get a good deal on them somewhere? My LSS prices are quite high on the ephemera packs. Thanks I just buy everything from scrapbook dot com. The prices have gone up a bit recently, I think, but because I use 90% of every pack and every scrap of paper I buy it feels like a pretty good deal for me. Back when my business had to calculate how much was spent on each card (for the taxman) they proved to be pretty good value... as long as I used them all up. I think they run $7-8 for a paper pad and $9-10 for die cuts. I've stopped buying the sentiment ephemera - too hard to use up - so if I spend $18-26 on a set (sometimes I get two paper pads or get some 12x12 b-sides to supplement) and make 35-60 cards I can keep materials costs for each card to about $1 - $1.50.

Another batch of cards using all the bees from the Fairy Garden die cuts. I made a sentiment just for them. I'm using 6x6 paper so I cut the focal/sentiment area piece at 3x2" so I could get more out of one piece of paper. March Sheetload by jo.blackford, on Flickr

Even though I rarely post to these threads, I do complete the sheet load almost every month. Last month I made 40 of the cards. I’m just horrible about taking pics! Anyhow, I’m patting myself on my back for posting this month. I’ve had these papers for a long time and have worked on the stamped embellishments (fussy cut - oh joy) over time. Finally completed enough of them to complete a project. Thanks for posting the sheet loads monthly azcrafty.

Your cards are adorable, joblackford ! Just a suggestion for those who aren’t happy with the rising cost of ephemera packs, but don’t want to take the time to stamp and color images for the sheetload cards (or you just want some new, different designs): If you have a Silhouette electronic cutter, you can buy Doodlebug and other company print and cut files from the Silhouette Design Store. I have a subscription, so buying print and cut files is very affordable for me. I only print and cut the ones I like, and I can cut them as many times as I want. Silhouette offers a lot of other fun print and cut files, too. I just downloaded some Wizard of Oz print and cut designs yesterday (Carta Bella). Silhouette has a 50% off sale on all their designs right now. Although Silhouette offers an SVG option for many of their cutting files to be used with other electronic cutters, the print and cut files don’t seem to have that option, but you could use the Silhouette free software to print their designs, then hand cut, or use a Scan-N-Cut if you have one. Edited to add: Doodlebug has almost no print and cut designs, but Echo Park and Carta Bella have quite a lot.

Doodlebug has almost no print and cut designs, but Echo Park and Carta Bella have quite a lot. I got excited for a moment there! But I had only seen the layered cut files to cut your own Doodlebug cuties out of patterned paper and cardstock. I bought one and had zero success in figuring out the process for separating out the layers and cutting it, SNC's Canvas workspace is not at all intuitive and I had no fun with that process so I decided it's not worth the bother for me. Luckily I am not bothered about paying $10 for 100+ die cuts.

Beautiful cards MichyM, thank you for sharing. joblackford I always forget that there is a lot of ephemera pieces in the Doodlebug packages. I have a lot of stickers does anyone knows a good source for inspiration how to use them? Or should I just de-sticky ( not sure how you would call this process)them and use them as a ephemera pieces? Thank you for the great idea scrapnnana. I have a SNC and not very computer savvy, but maybe worth getting a file and try it out.

Thank you for the great idea scrapnnana . I have a SNC and not very computer savvy, but maybe worth getting a file and try it out. I use my SNC without the computer. If I wanted to use it to cut Silhouette print and cut designs, I would use the Silhouette software to do the printing, then deselect the black boundary markers after scanning the sheet with the SNC, and let the SNC do the actual cutting. As for de-stickying stickers, I would probably try to use baby powder on the back of them, and wipe off the excess. joblackford, I will play around with the Doodlebug cut files this evening. I think there is a way to turn them into print and cut. You can turn off cut lines, and I know that I have some Doodlebug cut files from the Silhouette store. I think I found a tutorial online once. I think.

I am confused. If you de-sticky stickers and use them as ephemera, aren't you then sticking them on something with some other adhesive?

I am confused. If you de-sticky stickers and use them as ephemera, aren't you then sticking them on something with some other adhesive? Yes, but I can use foam tape to get a little dimension. I would only do this with bigger ones. I think I just struggle with the flat look of stickers 😅.

I don’t find myself much inclined to use my cutting machine, it’s not part of my usual workflow, and I’m considering selling it.

I did post about creating your own ephemera yesterday, but no one really seemed interested, and I realized that the change of subject hijacked the thread, so I deleted the posts. My apologies, azcrafty . It was not my intent to derail the thread.

So what I did because didn't want to measure, glued down the 4x4 piece than cut it where that piece ended. I decided you had the right idea here. Much easier to glue down the front 4x4" piece and then trim.
