I refuse to do the math. No way. This is my fun hobby, and I'm careful with my purchases.

I did quite enough stash math in the other thread (about how long it would take to make a dent)...and it has put a serious slowdown on my crafty spending. I went to M's today and bought ONE piece of paper. I don't know that I want to figure out how long my paper/cardstock stash would take to use up EVEN at my rate of page production. I feel like that kind of restraint deserves an award! Perhaps some fancy embellishments?

Yeah, that’s not happening here. I’m going to stay blissfully happy. 😁

Feeling better so thought I would count.
I have 87 12x12 sheets of paper. 4 paper pads that are 6x6 and 6x8 (that arent full).
It is broken down as:
17 for Winter/Christmas 35 fall/Halloween 18 DS 17 DD
I recently did a purge and tossed about 23 sheets of paper between DS and DD. Papers that are years old and I will never use.
I do have 12 sheets of pattern paper coming tomorrow and ordered the PF box last week so that will be 30 papers. Then I pre-ordered 10 papers from Simple Stories. When PF Picture Perfect becomes available I will order about 17 papers from that new line.
That will bring me to 69 new papers to add to the 87.
Because I do pocket page layouts that vary from 9x12 single to 3x4 pockets, I sometimes use only 1 sheet and other times use 2-4. Just depends on my layout design and the cards I make.
So lets say I have all 156 sheets with me. And take 2 sheets per page. That would get me 78 layouts.
I average 30 pockets a year for DD and about the same for DS.
So that would get me a little over a year.
I really do like to have a smaller selection on hand. Its better for my OCD and anxiety because I am not stressing over going through piles of paper. And I like to stay current and use current items. So for me having a small selection is best.

No! Why on earth would you do this, LOL? Exactly what went through my head! Also, I’d be tempted to share with DH who would then give me “the look,” every time I placed an order. Which, okay, he’s going to anyway because that’s part of the fun. But this way he would have scientific evidence to back up “the look.” No thank you!

Oh the quest for the perfect blue cardstock… my stash is overflowing but I still never seem to have just the right shade 😂 Ditto, plus also red.

How many inches to you think 156 sheets of patterned paper is? Is it even one inch? I don't want to count my paper but I could definitely eyeball it, although I am terrible at estimating (and measuring, I seriously have a problem). I have many, many inches of paper, so I'm sure I could scrapbook for 500 years and never use it all lol. But at least I have options! And if I ever go broke one day at least I can scrapbook my broke journey, lol. I never need to buy another scrapbooking item (except adhesive).
2-3 years agoI decided to seriously start using up my hoarded paper - I had Chatterbox still! So, I decided to do at least one layout with the hoarded collections and then I could feel no guilt in purging the rest. I made that Chatterbox layout, and then put the rest of the Chatterbox paper and embellishments in a box to sell or give away. That box is still in my scrap room. I swear this is the year I will finally get rid of it.

How many inches to you think 156 sheets of patterned paper is? Great question!! I measured a 48 page paper stack and it was .5 inch. So I would say that give or take a few sheets, 156=1.25-1.5 inches of paper.

I actually may not be as much of a hoarder as I thought - I don't think I have 50 (or 500 like I estimated first) year's worth of paper, at all. My paper is all spread out in collection kits and various storage spots so I can't actually eyeball it all together, though.

It would be interesting to do this after I finish culling my hoard. I have an 8 cube Kallax unit with paper on horizontal trays that are not stuffed full, but I also have some paper pads, and lots of other paper in other locations. I might have as much patterned paper and cardstock as you do. I might have more, I guess. I definitely have enough patterned paper to last the rest of my life, as I tend to use cardstock as a base. I don't have enough cardstock to last the rest of my life, though I have enough for probably 5 years or so. Maybe not quite that much.
One of the focuses of my current hoard culling is to pare down my patterned paper and keep it to what I really love and think I will use. I know I have a lot of paper I don't want to use--stuff left over from paper packs, stuff I am not into any longer, etc.
Maybe after I offload a bunch of this, I will be brave enough to count all of this stuff. I salute you for doing it.
