I read Ready or Not by Cara Bastone. I would give it 3 stars. The book was easy to read, but I completely did not understand things that happened in this book. Maybe if I was in her position I possibly would have made the same decisions, maybe...maybe not. I really wanted to like this book a whole lot more. I guess it was the relationships.

I haven't participated in quite a while, so I'll do a quick update.
-Salvage This World by Michael Farris Smith- three stars -The Ghosts of Eden Park: The Bootleg King, the Women Who Pursued Him, and the Murder That Shocked Jazz-Age America by Karen Abbott- three stars -Ali Reynolds series; #7, Left for Dead by J.A. Jance- four stars -The Crossover by Kwame Alexander- five stars This book is everything that generally does not interest me; juvenile fiction and poetry. I loved everything about this book! -Hanna and Alex series; #1 Lies We Never See by Michael Lindley- four stars -The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen- four stars -The Ghost Club by Kate Winkler Dawson- four stars -Mr. Dickens and His Carol by Samantha Silva- three stars I could have liked this more, but it was hard to suspend disbelief about Dickens. He was quite the asshole IRL to his wife and the events of writing A Christmas Carol to what is talked about in the book, don't fit the real timeline.
I've made a goal of reading every Newbery Medal winner book.
-Out of the Dust by Karen Hesse- four stars -Inside Out & Back Again by Thanhhà Lại- four stars I am debating about changing it to five stars. It should be required reading for ignorant adults who portray immigrants as criminals.
I just discovered Clare Mackintosh. I'm loving this author. Most suspense/mystery books for me are usually a three star rating.
-I See You- four stars -DC Morgan series; #1, The Last Party- four stars -I Let You Go- five stars

My book club read The Women by Kristin Hannah. I picked it after a lot of research and lived up to all the positive reviews I had read. I am a history nerd and love WWII genre but having been born during the Vietnam War my knowledge was lacking. Made for good discussion as well.
