His attorney says he can't post bond for the large amount due.
I certainly don't know laws, but in my mind, if he could not post the bond for appeal, then he has to pay the fine.
If he can't pay--Then what?

The article I just read said that the bond is so he can appeal and that if he cant get anyone to underwrite the bond, the state can enforce the judgement.
I think this is a good idea (requiring the bond) because it prevents people from getting rid of all their money while appealing.
The issue is that no one wants to underwrite a bond that large and if they do, they want cash to back it up, not his inflated-value properties.

If he can't pay--Then what? I believe this is the part in the FAFO storyline where they start seizing his assets. They will also seize them based on factual amounts, not his overinflated BS. I, personally, would love to see them snag his palace in FL and set him on the curb with his clothes. I would also be willing to pay for a video feed inside if they sack his home like the start of "Schitt's Creek".

One problem is that most of his properties are mortgaged. He will have to pay capital gains taxes on the sales etc. I think I read only clearing about 40%.

Does he really have enough properties to cover it since they are looking at actual value vs his crazy inflated prices that are then so highly mortgaged? Didn’t he “sell” Mar a lago to jr last year.
And what happens if he can’t cover it?

I would pay.

I guess that over-inflating your property values CAN come back to bite you. 🤔🤔

Those properties are heavily leveraged. He is cash poor but paper"rich". Too bad the banks don't want his paper to secure the bond. They want cold hard cash.

Apparently he owes about $1.1 billion, mostly due starting in 2028. Not sure how much money his properties are actually worth. NYT estimated that he had $350 million is cash, but needed $100 million to secure the bond for the E Jean Carroll case. So, he's about $250 million short. His lawyers filed paperwork with the appeals court to pause the judgement or accept $100 million. If the appeals court rejects his offer, he can appeal to the NY State Supreme Court. He could also potentially file corporate bankruptcy which would halt the judgement and prevent the NY AG's office from seizing his property. If he can't pay, the AG's office can seize assets. I would definitely pay to see that happen. Can you imagine if they went to Mar-a-Lago and started taking artwork, cars etc? www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/03/18/trump-civil-fraud-judgment-bond-450-million/When the state attorney general gets the green light from a court to enforce a financial judgment, state law allows her office to instruct law enforcement to deliver execution notices — similar to subpoenas — to banks or other parties that hold a defendant’s assets.
Staff from the New York City Marshals (or the Sheriff’s Office if the asset is real estate) then go to collect the debtor’s assets, Pollock said. That can include draining the defendant’s bank accounts by requesting cashier’s checks for the full amounts or, in some cases, going to defendants’ homes or businesses and hauling away expensive cars or pieces of artwork.
In some instances, enforcement might require the state attorney general’s office to spend time determining where a defendant’s assets are located. But because the case with Trump revolved around his assets and chronicled them in great detail, James’s office likely already has much or all of the information it needs.www.forbes.com/sites/danalexander/2022/07/29/donald-trumps-great-escape-how-the-former-president-solved-his-debt-crisis/?sh=42c824ca3970www.nytimes.com/2024/03/18/nyregion/trump-bond-civil-fraud-case.html

It shouldn’t be that easy when he has property that could be used to pay for it. Especially when, in one of his many depositions, he said he had like $400 million cash on hand and billions in assets. I'm absolutely SHOCKED nobody is rushing to save him.

If he can't pay--Then what? Well, nothing ever happened when OJ didn’t pay so I’m going to assume nothing will happen to DT. I guess OJ owned less stuff so there wasn’t a whole lot to seize. I’m going to be shocked if they seize anything from Trump. Legally they can but I doubt this current SCOTUS would allow it. I’m sure he’s ties it up in trusts & LLCs & other legal obstacles to prevent anything from being seized I’m going to say nothing will happen to Trump. Same as nothing happened when he actually assaulted EJean Carroll, & all those girls at Epstein’s mansion. Like nothing happened all the times he did not pay his taxes. Like nothing has ever happened when he doesn’t pay bills. Like nothing happened when he discriminated against renters decades ago. Sadly, I’m guessing nothing at all will happen, but I’m open to being wrong on that.

time to ask daddy putin for more allowance or make use of those confidential documents he swears he didn't hold back during the raid. I saw a bit on the internet that alleged that Kim Jung Un paid off one of Trump’s almost 20 million $ debts to a South Korean company Daewoo, the only South Korean company allowed to do business in North Korea. Allegedly KJU isn’t happy that he did not get what he felt he paid for in return, AKA Trump did not deliver whatever was allegedly promised. Whether or not this is true who knows, the debt was unreported by Trump when he took office, it does seem to have disappeared. All I have to say to KJU is why do you think he’d pay up what he promised you when he’s been dodging debts for decades? What makes you think you’re special? This stuff is the stuff of nightmares really.
