The Woman on the Ledge: I liked the premise of this. (I can't say without spoiling it.) But the execution fell a bit flat for me. Even so, this was quite twisty. 4/5 stars. Lisa Reading right now. Only at about 20% but loving every page ! TWISTY !

Currently reading Frontier Medicine: From the Atlantic to the Pacific, 1492-1941. Right now, I'm on the part about pioneers going westward. Makes me really glad to live in 2024. (Then again, Lindsey Fitzharris' book The Butchering Art had the same effect.)
Planning on reading her newest book, The Facemaker, next. I also have a never ending list of books I want read. I either need to read faster or live to 116. Or both.

I finished Danny Trejo's autobiography this week. It was slow-going in the beginning but then picked up as it went along. That man has been to hell and back between his addiction issues along with family issues. Definitely a 4/5.
I just started A Curious Beginning, the first in the Veronica Speedwell series.
I have 3 more in a pile and one on hold at the library so I'd better get to reading this weekend!

I first heard about them in this thread -- maybe it was pjaye who recommended them? -- and I really liked the first three. Then I got sidetracked by other books. Just put a hold on #4.
