I am a potter and belong to my community pottery club, so I spend time in the studio at least once a week and try to do a bit of hand building at home, too (most of my club time is spent throwing on the wheel). I am a not-quite-retired librarian, so I work 26 hours a month, but I also read a bit--at least a couple books a week plus the odd periodical. In the summer I have a veggie garden in addition to flower beds. I write a bit and belong to a writing group. I occasionally sew (mostly if I want new curtains or to make a costume--I've realized over the years that I hate making clothes because I'm not patient enough for all the detail work that involves, lol!), I build the odd lego set, and do about half a dozen jigsaw puzzles a year. I volunteer weekly and am on the board of our local meals on wheels, I volunteer weekly at the women's emergency shelter, I host a monthly book club, and my friend and I try to go for a long walk/hike at least once a week. Some years I golf more than others--this month I've signed up for weekly lessons, and then I hope to get a few rounds in with the ladies in that group ... my dh and ds like to do 18 or 36 holes, and I barely make it through 9, so we aren't the greatest sidekicks to one another! I quite like a vacation , so we try and get somewhere (big or small) every couple months. I have season tickets for a local-ish theatre company.
The last year and a half, I've been struggling with a health issue that has seen my iron (and hemoglobin, sometimes) at a far below normal level, so it feels like my biggest hobby has been napping! I'm glad that I decided to post here because it's helped me realize that I still do a lot of living when I'm not sleeping
