The bladder cancer came back, so I'm off to the VA this morning. I have to be there all day as they are providing transportation. I could have asked one of my friends, but I don't want to make them hang around there all day.

I am so sorry to hear this. Sending nothing but good thoughts and best wishes for your surgery and for a quick recovery.
As a single person whose family lives an hour away I often also have to rely on friends or making family travel. I understand where you are coming from…but as a friend who also provides transportation to other friends that need it I am always happy to do it and feel honored when actually ask for my assistance. It seems like I say it all the time (let me know what I can do to help) and very few people ask for anything…so don’t hesitate to ask because I bet your friends would also be honored to be able to help as they know you would for them. Especially with a surgery or procedure. Again sending hugs and healing thoughts to you.
