I’m not sure I could listen to the same music for that sort of time as much as I love lots of bands/singers.

Leonard Cohen. I’d also consider Billy Joel, Paul Simon (including with Art Garfunkel), and Neil Diamond.

I would prefer silence, than 10 hours of music. That would be sensory overload for me. Yes! It would be an audio book for that long. I wouldn't mind an audio book. They saved my sanity on my long daily commute.

This reminds me of when my dd and I drove her car to college in 1989. From Arizona to Michigan. Her little Datsun had top speed of about 50 mph. No radio. She had 2 cassette with her. The Smiths and The Smithereens. It took us 4 or 5 days. I knew every word of every song on those tapes.

I just drove 17 hours yesterday. I would listen to one very long book. As much as I love all my music, I would not be able to listen to one artist. As it was yesterday, there was no music. Just talk with my future DIL.

This doesn't answer your question but I thought it was really cool. In 1990 we were driving cross country and were listening to music on cassettes or CD player, can't remember which. So we were in Arizona and came across an exit for Andy Devine Rd. I thought-there's a song that sings about "autographed picture of Andy Devine." And guess what song was playing in our car at that time! Pencil Thin Mustache by Jimmy Buffett!

For me, I would have to choose a soundtrack rather than just one artist, and that soundtrack would be Les Misérables.

This thread has reminded me of when I lived in an iron ore mining town in Western Australia in the mid-seventies. A small town in the outback, a long long way from any other town. There was no radio, no live/current television. Recordings of a few hours of tv each day was physically sent up to us from Perth and we watched it, even the news, one week later.
So I bought a small record player, but there was only one record available for purchase at the time in our town, so i bought it and listened to The Supremes - over and over and over, until more records arrived.
Needless to say, The Supremes would NOT be who I would choose to listen to on the 10 hour road trip, even 45 years later!

Well firstly, I would never go on a ten hour road trip hahaha!!
But if I had to, hmmmm that’s a tough one. DSO and I like different singers so it would be hard to come to a consensus. I think our best bet would be Wedding Parties Anything. They’re one of my favourite bands, and he likes them too.
As long as he didn’t make me listen to ten hours of Tom Waits, we’re all good!

My favorite artist is Dave Barnes and he has mellow singer-songwriter jams that are good for road trips with my husband and/or kids. If I was roadtripping by myself or with friends, I'd want something more upbeat: Beyonce? Demi Lovato? P!nk?

First that comes to mind is Taylor Swift. There would be a good mix of mellow & upbeat songs.
Some others would be: Elvis Neil Diamond Neil Young The BoDeans (their old stuff before they broke up)

I would have to say Taylor Swift due to her large, various catalog, but honestly, that would bore me.

This was my first thought, very wide range of music. Funny story is that my sister was driving across the county with her car PACKED. She had put in a cd to start the ride but then couldn't change it because the rest were too hard to get to. She listened to that same cd for hours! I wish I could remember what cd that was!

In the past.. it was Journey. We listened to Journey from Kansas City to Los Angeles when I moved there. ALL Journey (except my roommate did throw in some Boston for a bit)
Now???
I could do Journey, but now... but I think maybe Phil Collins. He has enough lively music and slower to keep me entertained.
