Ok so this was a new one for me. I just placed an order for a hooked yarn pillowcase kit and it asked me if I wanted to leave a tip and gave percentages. I've never ever seen a tip section on ordering something!
Out of control!

I was at a retail store buying a puzzle and they had a tip jar. Nope. I'm paying retail and it's up to your employer to pay your salary.

I’m a pretty generous tipper and tip for services the Peas would never dream of tipping for but this is way over the top. I paid for the item, most likely paid postage and now you want a tip for packing it up…..oh hell, NO!

I’ve seen it once on a stamping company’s sites. It was there for a few months in early Covid times. But, since removed.

I've never ever seen a tip section on ordering something! Out of control! I recently ordered some sewing machine accessories online from a Bernina dealer and had the same thing happen. I did not tip, but more importantly I won’t be ordering from them again.

oh wow, that's crazy. What the hell? I guess they figure everyone else is doing it, so why not?
I'd never tip and it would make me not order from them again.

I’ve seen it on a couple of web sites but I don’t recall which. I saw it around Christmas time iirc so it was probably gift type sites.

Ummm, that's definitely going too far with tipping. It'd be a hard NO from me.

I saw it on a small, local food vendor’s website (think jarred jams/ jellies) around Christmas time. It made me raise an eyebrow.
Also saw a tip jar in our local Barnes & Noble bookstore around Christmas time. I thought it was odd because bookstores are struggling enough as it is, let alone putting out a tip jar. I bought something, but I did not tip.

With inflation as it is these days, any retailer, online or otherwise, should be happy that people are willing to buy from them at all. I can't imagine it's the right climate to go bothering us for tips on top of what we're already paying.

I haven't seen that and I'm a very generous tipper but that would be a big NOPE.

I ordered stickers online yesterday and there was a tip option for the designers. This was a pretty well known T shirt site, too. Crazy.

But in Canada (not sure the US) wait staff and retail clerks all make minimum wage. So why are we tipping 20, 25% in restaurants? Now more and more are asking for tips. Tips for takeout, tips for hairdressers, massage therapists etc etc. Some of these people are making more than minimum wage and still ask for a tip.

This is probably a new feature on the payment program. I ignore this when I see it at checkout.

Speaking of tipping.
There was just a Dominos commercial on. If you order online and tip $3.00 or more and $3 will be deducted from your next online order.

Not tipping unless it's full service.

I backed out of an online shopping cart that asked for a tip for the hard working staff who would be packing my order. Nope. Moving on to shop elsewhere.

My friend encountered a tip screen at a self checkout at a convenience store in another state. 🤔
She tipped herself cash! It took her 3 tries to clear out the tip option on the screen without paying extra money.

I backed out of an online shopping cart that asked for a tip for the hard working staff who would be packing my order. Nope. Moving on to shop elsewhere. especially if some places charge %10 extra for online groceries %10 higher prices AND a tip no way Walmart is the worst in person prices are higher than online prices but online shopping costs $35. I went to buy 5lb weights online they were $4.98 in store they were $9.99 WTF? Why would I pay double to get up out of my car go into the store and get the items off the shelf myself then check myself out? And you’re still paying your employees shit. Nah Walmart f*ck off I’ll buy the item elsewhere. You don’t even pay your employees enough to stay off food stamps. I’ve pretty much stopped shopping at Walmart altogether because of their tactics. I have no issue paying for services, but I’m not on board subsidizing multi billion dollar profit corporations who can’t seem to pay for those same services. Pay your employees well, price things in ALL sales streams adequately and I won’t spend extra time getting angry, then walking out.

Someone posted a video showing the tip amounts weren’t even correct. The screen charged way more than the percentage that was chosen. So, if you do use a tip screen, make sure the amount is correct.
