Good morning.
Achoo! That says it all over here. So, I'm watching boring shows on tv and sleeping. Hopefully, this ends, quickly.
Dh will have rechauffe homemade fried rice for dinner.
What's on your menu?
What is your plan for the week?
Dh is working hard to finish the room and hopes to start laying the floor by end of week. It's nice to see him happy doing a project. I'm gonna see how I feel and my week will probably be a quiet at-home week.
May everyone have a hopeful week, ahead.

Good Morning! scrapmaven sorry to hear you are ill. Glad you can take it easy at home this week. We had a great weekend. Took two distillery tours. IT was really interesting. It was just nice to be with friends we don't see often enough. It is going to be a hot week. I'm not complaining. I am one that the hotter the better. This week is going to be pretty low key. I am sure we will be attending some DGS's baseball games. Tonight is going to be something on the grill. I will let DH decide since he does the cooking on the grill.

It's a holiday here ... Victoria Day ... so a day off! It's gray and dreary out and we have scattered showers ... blech! I'm going to putter around here for awhile and then I'm going over to my Mum's later this afternoon to help her build a wire shelving unit to put in her pantry ... and then fill it ... Then I am eating in the dining room there with her ... I think dinner tonight is pot roast I hope you feel better soon scrapmaven!

Holiday here today - it has thrown me off, as I was wondering why scrapmaven was starting a weekend thread! I went out early for a walk as we were expecting a very warm day and I am now glad I did. DH went out to his office for a bit this afternoon and I spent some time researching for our short break next week. I’ll make a proper plan later in the week. Dinner tonight is chicken and potato salad. DH is cooking again.

Another hot day here so I took Walker for a walk early this morning.
DH is going on an ATV ride with my brother shortly so I will cozy up in my deck chair with my book.
Today I’m only eating soft foods so I’ll be having mashed potatoes, cottage cheese and applesauce for supper. I have a choice of green or orange jello for dessert. Anyone wanna come for supper??

Feel better scrapmaven! It's back at work after a 3 day weekend but it's not busy so that's nice. I spent the weekend getting ready for my BFF to come to town next weekend and the house looks really nice. I need to have company over more often so I'm motivated to keep it up. Dinner tonight will either be tacos if it is just me or burgers and pasta salad if my parents come over. Keeping it low key and easy this week. Hope you all have a great day!

scrapmaven - feel better soon taylortroop - prep isn't fun but it's so important. Dinner here is steak and roasted Japanese eggplant - we got those in this week's farm box and we've never had them before. I don't love eggplant but I'll eat it in moussaka so hopefully it's okay roasted

Happy Hot Monday! DH’s port insertion went well this morning. He is at the hotel resting. Thank you to everyone for their well wishes and prayers.
I am in the hot house trying to line up workmen. Still no power but hopefully soon. Heat indexes will be 100+ all week. Contractor is trying to get the garage door repairmen out to fix the double door. It’s come off track and is in danger of crashing down. Trying to get a tree guy out to cut a few limbs including one that is hanging over the driveway. They aren’t huge compared to other projects, so it may take a while. Next up is getting someone out to repair the fence. And we are among the lucky ones! However to say my anxiety levels are off the chart would be a vast understatement!
Absolutely no clue what dinner will be. Hope everyone is having a good week.

Hey all - trying to catch up from all my travels and unfortunately managed to catch a cold! I bought some chicken so I'll figure something out with that later, but otherwise I'm sneezing and resting!

**GypsyGirl**, I'm thinking of you and wishing that I could be w/you in order to give you a big in-person ((((HUG)))). I hope that you can get some rest tonight and take some quiet time for yourself. Thank you for thinking of me, ladies. I do feela bit better today. In fact, I'm gonna make AF fajitas for dinner.

I have been away from the board. It's been alright. But I've missed you guys. I'll go back and read the thread but I really needed to show off something horrifying. I haven't had a cigarette in 32 days. This pile of fun stuff is what I would have spent on cigarettes in the past 32 days. It's making me a little sick.

scrapmaven I'm so sorry you are sick. ❤️ stormsts was the distillery tour fun? Do you drink the spirits from there? We were near Makers Mark last week in Kentucky and we debated going. But neither of us drinks bourbon. Well Jeremy doesn't drink at all. And I don't drink much. But mostly wine. We opted not to go.

Waving hello! Tonight, I will be making some white rice, ground turkey to make a rice bowl with green onions and a sauce of choice. I like Teriyaki sauce with a little ranch dressing on mine.

I haven't had a cigarette in 32 days. This pile of fun stuff is what I would have spent on cigarettes in the past 32 days. Well done - such an achievement! Hopefully by now the need to have one is passed and things are getting easier. Nice little pile of goodies to show what you can buy when you are not spending all that money on cigarettes. That in itself would keep me motivated - cigarettes are sooo expensive in Australia - I could not bring myself to spend it if I was still was a smoker. Here are the latest cigarette prices in Australia: a packet of 20 cigarettes costs $23.86 a packet of 25 cigarettes costs $29.48 a packet of 30 cigarettes costs $38.11 a packet of 35 cigarettes costs $41.95 a packet of 40 cigarettes costs $49.63 a packet of 50 cigarettes costs $53.95 RYO tobacco costs between $34.95 and $74.95 noy up-to-date pricing but relatively current.

That's almost 3x as expensive as it is here. A pack of 20 costs me $8.20.

And no the craving has not passed. I'm not optimistic that it will anytime soon either. After all, I've quit for a year when pregnant both times and I've always returned to my habit. I can't envision a day I don't want to smoke. ETA: hannahruth I made it very clear to Jeremy that if I stay quit (I'm almost 49) that if I live to be 80, I will begin again. 😂

That’s so expensive! jeremysgirl you can keep going. A bourbon trail would be a waste for me. My dh would do it but he wouldn’t schedule a trip around it. I got halfway to the studio and turned around today. There’s a couple that joined who are messing up the vibe for me. My dh would say ignore them. But they just bug me. For dinner I made a white bean with veggie pasta. It was fine.

Then put it in a colander with paper towel on bottom. Salt it very good and let it sit for 5-10 minutes first. It will pull out the water. And the salt will season it for frying too.

i'm on the anti eggplant train..
we are having baked salmon, salad and 1/2 apple for dinner.. and then some dairy free gelato for dessert.
dh and I have been at his mother's house together for an hour and I'm already stressed out.. he is running around seeing what his sister made off with when we were gone for the last 2 weeks.
I love him but I have to let it roll off the back. he wants everything out of the house by next weekend.
I spent the morning waiting for new cleaning person at my sister's apartment.. and I spent it getting rid of empty boxes, loading up stuff in my car to go to dump and to goodwill (hit goodwill on the way home) getting rid of boxes with stuff that hadn't been touched in 3 yrs since my dad died. I told her I would go through her bedroom with her the next time I visit town. then I spent a few hours hanging out with my best friend.. I have known her 64 yrs!!!
tomorrow, I go over early and take my sister to eye doctor, then to lunch, then back home.. then tackle the cable store. and visit a college friend.
I'm already exhausted and I'm not leaving til Tuesday...

jeremysgirl, I vote for you to buy yourself replacement stuff each month for the first year, if you can afford it, of course. That could be your motivation to sit w/the cravings and quit for good. You're a very brave person and I'm so happy that our jeremysgirl will extend her life. ntsf, I'm so glad that you got to hang out w/your bff. It's a stressful trip and you need some breaks. teddyw, one or two people can really ruin the vibe. I don't blame you for turning back, but I'm sorry that you had to do so.

Just a quick check-in. Today we take the overnight ferry from Sweden to Finland. The weather has been great but we know it will be cold and rainy when we get to Iceland on Friday. Love and hugs to all.
