First of all, let's take a minute to celebrate The Birdhouse Lady who is our newest grandma. We have some awesome grandmas on this thread and now another tribe member has joined your ranks. Congratulations on your new beautiful little guy.
After our living room furniture arrives then we'll go to mil's house in order to spiffy it up for a dear friend who will be living there for a few months.
Dinner will pho for dh.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to today?
May today bring joyous moments to all!

Congratulations to @the Birdhouse Lady on the safe arrival of her new grandboy!
Today is DH’s birthday and his sister called last night to ask us out for supper tonight. Of course we accepted!
DH has gone into the city for an eye dr appt and once he’s home, we will just relax for the day. It’s going to be a scorcher here today. Temp is going to be 31 degrees but with the humidity it will feel like 37! The air will be on and Walker will be laying on the register.

The Birdhouse Lady , congratulations on your adorable bundle of boy! Today's photos are from Vigelandsparken, a sculpture park in Oslo, which is amazing! The park is Gustav Vineland's life work, comprising over 200 sculptures in granite, bronze and wrought iron. It was installed mainly in the period 1940-1949, but is nevertheless a result of over 40 years of work. This sculpture is one of his most famous, called The Angry Boy. While, next to him, his sister gets almost no views. I'll stop there but you get the idea of how amazing this man was. Dinner might be Chinese Chicken Salad.

Congratulations again to The Birdhouse Lady! We need more photos! Describe your new furniture scrapmaven! I'm obviously not working today ... there just wasn't anything good posted ... I do already have two days booked next week though! I will do laundry and perform the glamorous job of scrubbing toilets. Haven't even thought about dinner ... something easy I'm sure!

The park is Gustav Vineland's life work, comprising over 200 sculptures in granite, bronze and wrought iron. It was installed mainly in the period 1940-1949, but is nevertheless a result of over 40 years of work. The first sculpture is amazing! So my car is in the shop. My check engine light came on Friday so I took it in yesterday. It is an evaporator pump or some such thing. She says to me, do you top off your gas tank after the gas pump has clicked/stopped. I told her, no I never do that. And then Jeremy pipes up and says he does it all the time. She said, it's most likely what broke this part. She said newer cars you should never attempt to fill your gas tank fuller than when it stops pumping. We got in the car, I asked Jeremy why he would do such a thing. He says, it's just a habit from the days when you would pay in cash to round up to the next whole dollar. I'm like, you're using your debit card, what difference does it make if the charge is $24.67 or $25.00? Makes no sense to me. However, he claims this is common practice, so this is my PSA to all of you. I have two meetings this afternoon. 1pm and then 2 pm. And my meeting for tomorrow morning was cancelled this morning so my calendar is clear tomorrow too. Feels weird being this free. LOL! Chloe is coming for dinner tonight. I made a chicken the other night and I have enough meat leftover for chicken fettucine alfredo. I will make homemade pasta too. Jeremy will be so thrilled he will be dancing for 3 days over this meal. Hahaha...

Congratulations to you The Birdhouse Lady! Keep the photos coming cadoodlebugjeremysgirl - I always round up my gas to a whole dollar. I don't know why other than I like to see the whole number! I don't have a new car (2015) so I guess I don't have to worry about that yet... scrapmaven - so happy to hear you voice class was good and you are feeling at ease. What fun! I should really cook something...I just am not feeling anything sounds good. It is hot and humid here too and cooking sounds even less exciting. We ended up with subs last night.

linda it's great that your dd shares the cooking in your house. Does she like to cook and/or bake? As she said the other day, she likes the idea of cooking/baking and she likes eating what she's cooked/baked but sometimes doesn't feel into the inbetween stage. I mean, I get that, truly I do. As of my kids started helping in the kitchen very young and once they were 10-12*, they were assigned one night/week during summer vacation where they had to plan the menu, make sure we had all the ingredients by checking the pantry/fridge/freezer and/or adding to my weekly grocery list, and then making the meal. They started with easy stuff like packaged mac 'n chz and hotdogs but all three are very competent cooks. I think only DS32 loves cooking but DD24 and DD17 are both very capable of cooking/baking. *age varied by interest level

Happy Tuesday!
I'm at the hospital this morning with my sister. She's having surgery tomorrow and is doing well except they found a uterine mass when she had a CT yesterday. We'll know more tomorrow after they remove it and see what else is going on.
Of course, in my rush to get here this morning, I grabbed my personal laptop instead of my work laptop so I have to go home midday and get some work done.
Dinner tonight will be the kielbasa, potatoes and onions that I didn't make last night.

The Birdhouse Lady - congrats on the grandbaby!! How exciting! I have some paperwork to dig through this morning and then I'm really hoping to get to the nursery to get some more flowers before it's just too hot for planting. Dinner will be gnocchi my daughter is in charge of! Have a great day all!

I don't have a new car (2015) so I guess I don't have to worry about that yet... Beware anyway. She didn't define "newer". My car is a 2021. I never do but I still see a lot of people doing it. Even when it was a normal thing years ago it never worked for me, I would inevitably go over and could never seemed to stop exactly on an even. So it didn’t matter under or over. 😆 Not sure what is for supper tonight, the left overs are gone. I have some breaded chicken that came in an orange chicken package that I got where I don’t like the orange sauce. I had some crispy chicken bites at a restaurant the other day that were coated in a yummy blackberry jalapeño type sauce. Thought I might try something like that with the chicken. I will probably also make some rice.

Finally the rain has stopped! Hopefully, the flood situation will begin to ease, but there is still an anxious wait in some places - like Passau, where two swollen rivers will run into the Danube in the next few days - to serve how how the rivers will get. I have had the quiet at home day I had originally planned for yesterday before I was called to after school care. I wandered down to the supermarket mid morning, as we had very little food in the house after our vacation and I didn’t get a chance for a decent shop yesterday. The Birdhouse Lady - welcome to the grandma club. It’s a wonderful place to be. Dinner here tonight is a pasta bake with loads of vegetables. There will be plenty leftover for my lunches the next few days.

The first sculpture is amazing! Isn't it? It is about 55 feet tall and contains 121 figures. Here's the taller version.

Tearisci, your sister is in my thoughts. So, are you. ((((HUGS))). leannec, I'll take a photo when everything is in position. DH needs to install the baseboards and ceiling fan. The colors are red, blue, gray, cream. They're taken from two of my grandfather's paintings. I will not be able to show the paintings. So, I'll take a photo before dh puts them on the wall. It looks so different in that room. Its almost elegant. (Insert snooty face here.)

Still think I’m making soup tonight (it’s supposed to be 94 degrees F this afternoon) but pizza is sounding better and better. Still excited about the new The Birdhouse Lady baby. Sorry about your car trouble, jeremysgirl. Wishing your sister a clean bill of health, Tearisci. Can’t wait to see the new living room, scrapmaven.

We are having a simple dinner tonight. A while back, I found this seasoning package from Sunbird to make Lettuce Wraps. It's a quick prep and is very tasty!

It is a glorious day here...sorry those suffering in the heat..mid 60's sunny and a beautiful breeze. You lucky duck! It's supposed to be 86 here today. That is just waaaaaaaaay too hot for Michigan. And yet, much cooler than what we experienced in Mexico last week- 106-108 heat index every day. I havent been outside at all today as I have the vicious stomach bug that many of us who traveled are suffering with. We also have 2 with Covid and 2 with Influenza A plus the stomach bug. My Dr office said it is probably Nororvirus or gastroenteritis and it usually clears after about 5 days.🤯 Tomorrow my goal os to get to my office to pickup my laptop and be able to work some tomorrow. After being off last week, I am WAY behind. And I will never travel to Mexico again- it wouldnt have been our choice, but our niece was getting married there and we didnt want to miss it.
