This board has been slow lately- I know May is usually crazy busy for everyone.
I was thinking about new and old embellishments.
How often do you use: Cardstock stickers - Puffy stickers - Die Cuts - Chipboard - Enamel dots - Frames - Tags - Acrylic shapes - Wood shapes - Sequins - Twine, string, etc. - Ribbon - Metal charms - Paper flowers - Washi tape - Rub ons - Brads - Buttons - Film strips -
I've used all of them this year. Some are current things that I use a lot, but I'm also trying to dig back in my stash and use up some of the really old stuff. What have you used? Is there anything I've forgotten?

Thanks for keeping the board going artbabe: Cardstock stickers - Almost every layout...I use them regularly in my clusters. Puffy stickers - I really like puffies, especially alphas. I sometimes struggle a bit more with these, but do regularly use them when they are part of a collection. Die Cuts - Again, almost every layout. These are a regular part of my clusters. Chipboard - When the chipboard is part of a collection, I do buy it but I find I have to remind myself to actually use it. Raw chipboard, I like to paint it and put it on my layouts, but it is something I need to focus on using. Enamel dots - Almost every layout...I like these as a finishing touch. Frames - This is another item that I buy and sometimes struggle to use. I find I use the 49 & Market ones more as a layering piece. I always buy the Simple Stories chipboard ones and have yet to use one. One might think I should adjust my buying habits... Tags - I LOVE tags...almost always use one or two on a layout as a cluster base. Acrylic shapes - This is one that I have plenty in my stash and almost never use. I had a sub to ColorCast Designs that I finally let go. I love the product but just struggle to get it on my layouts. Wood shapes - I like adding these into my clusters, but this is something I need to make a point of adding into my kits or planning to add to my layouts. Sequins - I use these regularly in place of enamel dots. I've also been known to make a shaker pocket or two on my layouts and use these for that. The shaker pockets are less frequent, but sequins are regularly featured. Twine, string, etc. - About a quarter of my layouts get string. Ribbon - Not regularly, but sometimes on a more formal or "pretty" layout I will make a point of using some ribbon. Metal charms - I have hoarded these but almost never use them. I still like them, but need to make a point of using them. I think they add a nice touch to a page. Paper flowers - I try not to buy these anymore. I only use them occasionally. Usually only when I am digging into my old Prima stash. Washi tape - I like washi tape and have more than I need for how often I use it. I will occasionally make a point of using it and will use it as a feature on a layout, but I struggle using it "casually" on a layout. Rub ons - These are a "special occasion" item for me. I really like some of the 49 & Market and Aall & Create ones, but I need to make a point of planning to use them. Brads - Almost never, but if I have them with an old collection, I will make a point of using them with the collection, but they are not an item that I regularly reach for. Buttons - This is a sometimes for me. I like the addition when I make a point of using them. Film strips - I LOVE filmstrips. Either acetate or die cut. These are one of my go to embellishments.

Good question!
Cardstock stickers - I have a few sheets but don’t use very often
Puffy stickers - never, I have some from PP in my stash, but they never look right on layouts.
Die Cuts - I use these on just about all layouts
Chipboard - too thick so I use sparingly
Enamel dots - love and use a lot
Frames - if I use on a layout, I’m probably using at least 3. So I’ll hoard and then use them up, continually
Tags - love and use on almost all layouts
Acrylic shapes - I have some but struggle to use
Wood shapes - the ones I have are specific, like fall leaves. These don’t get used very often
Sequins - love shaker pockets! I saw another poster say they used as enamel dots…such a good idea!
Twine, string, etc. - use with tags, but not as much as ribbon
Ribbon - use as often as tags, so almost every layout
Metal charms - I have a stash and love looking at them almost as much as using them for mini albums. And continue buying!
Paper flowers - barely ever use. My stash is dwindling, though, so apparently using more than I think
Washi tape - I started using more, but as tape, when I stitch on layouts. I’ll never run out though. Occasional use on projects as part of design
Rub ons - occasional use but I don’t gravitate to buying
Brads - I just used quite a few on a layout but rarely get used
Buttons - never use
Film strips - I love these and use a lot. I just bought a quirky set from Amazon, actual film strip. Can’t wait to find a home for it.

fun thread! Thanks artbabeCardstock stickers - sometimes, I don't have a ton Puffy stickers - mainly just alphas - I have some Pinkfresh that I love but definitely not an every layout item Die Cuts - I'm using these more lately - both from the embellishment packs and ones I cut myself with dies or the Cricut Chipboard - I don't like/use plain chipboard Enamel dots - if I have a colour that works - I will use them - probably 1/2 of my layouts - but I struggle with placement. Frames - I struggle with them and rarely can make one work Tags - I need to get more tag dies in different shapes/sizes but I do use tags fairly often Acrylic shapes - not something I use Wood shapes - same here - I have a couple but they are not a go-to for me Sequins - I use mainly on the rare occasion I make a shaker card but on layouts? like enamel dots, I struggle with placement. Twine, string, etc. - NO Ribbon - NO Metal charms - NO Paper flowers - sometimes but I'm more likely to diecut or use felt flowers Washi tape - mainly to seal envelopes when mailing cards, lol Rub ons - occasionally but not regularly Brads - occasionally - I do also use eyelets about as often Buttons - very rarely Film strips - I don't really have any but I'm eyeing a die set with them because I think they're very versatile

Some of these are making a little comeback as I have transition to junk journals... I have dug into my stash for a few of these things. Like metal charms/rub ons/ribbon

Fun thread! How often do you use: Cardstock stickers - a lot, if you count alphas. Use them on traditional layouts and Project Life pages. Puffy stickers - Not super often. Die Cuts - Sometimes. I have a lot of Vicki Boutin die cuts that I need to use. Chipboard - Never. I found I hated decorating/finishing chipboard pieces so donated my stash long ago. Enamel dots - Not as much as I want to - I don't know many ways to use them. Frames - Never really got into these Tags - A lot! Acrylic shapes - Never, i'm always afraid it will discolor Wood shapes - Sometimes. Sequins - I've never used a sequin Twine, string, etc. - I like baker's twine, but don't use it much Ribbon - Rarely Metal charms - I love metal charms! Use them as often as I can Paper flowers - Not often anymore, but I still have a small stash Washi tape - Never. It's another thing I never got the hang of/never liked when I used it. Rub ons - Love rub-ons, but I don't find many new ones anymore. Am I missing something somewhere?? Brads - Occasionally, but not much. Buttons - Hardly ever. Film strips - Never

Fun thread! Rub ons - Love rub-ons, but I don't find many new ones anymore. Am I missing something somewhere?? I am loving more and more rub-ons lately but need to purchase new ones. I was told 49 & Market has some really nice ones (and they do, but I haven't purchased any yet)... I went to an Expo a couple of weeks ago and was on the lookout for them, not one single one in that whole Expo.

Cardstock stickers - often, especially letters and words. Sometimes phrases Puffy stickers -I like VB puffy words and hearts Die Cuts -if they fit my theme Chipboard -once in awhile, usually basic shapes Enamel dots -when I think of them. Don’t feel the need to pop some on every project. Frames -very seldom. I want to use a few this month to meet a challenge. Tags -once in awhile. I like them with twine for a little texture. Acrylic shapes -very seldom. Used some NJFB arrows a couple of months ago Wood shapes -if I think of them and if they fit my theme Sequins -occasionally on cards. Twine, string, etc. -once in awhile, usually with tags, but sometimes wrapped around the bottom of a pic or journaling block. Ribbon -seldom Metal charms -rarely. For metal, I am more likely to use brads or eyelets. Paper flowers -very seldom Washi tape -when the mood strikes me, but not often. Rub ons -next to never. They never come off as smoothly as I would like. Brads -at least a few every month. Should be done my stash in about December 2052. Buttons - maybe once a year Film strips -when I need a tall element behind a photo or a subtle border strip.

My scrapbook style is similar to the scrapbook style from years past. Symmetrical, balanced, straight lines, mix and match patterns, matted photos, titles, etc...
Use a lot: Regular stickers Cardstock stickers Puffy stickers Thickers Chipboard alphabets Sticker alphabets Pre-printed titles Frames Paper or chipboard embellishments (project life type cards, arrows, directions signs, etc....). Die cuts Photo mat. I almost always mat my photos with cardstock or patterned paper (unless I am using a frame or filmstrip).
Use sometimes: Tags Washi tape Brads Paper flowers Filmstrips
Never use: Enamel dots Acrylic shapes Wood shapes Sequins Twine, string, etc. Ribbon Metal charms Rub ons Buttons

For simplicity, I've crossed off the items I never use or may have only used once or twice Cardstock stickers - almost always Puffy stickers -
Die Cuts - almost always Chipboard - never, unless it's prefinished Enamel dots - almost always Frames - very rarely, but I've been trying to use them more in layering of clusters Tags - Often, especially for a journaling spot Acrylic shapes -
Wood shapes - almost never. I really should donate some more that I know I'll never use Sequins - regularly Twine, string, etc. - regularly Ribbon - I recently donated almost all of my ribbon, since I rarely use it Metal charms -
Paper flowers - almost never, again I should donate more Washi tape - almost never for a layout. I use it mostly to hold down dies Rub ons - 49th and Market has reinvigorated my love of rub-ons! Brads - I still use occasionally. I really love the ones that just stick down without the traditional back. Buttons - Almost never, but I have a lot of them! Film strips -Great question, artbabe!

Cardstock stickers - Maybe, if included in a kit. Otherwise, they’re relegated to my planner.
Die Cuts - Almost every layout
Chipboard - If included in a kit
Enamel dots - Starting to use these more
Frames - I’d rather mat my photos. They never seem to be the right size or orientation.
Tags - All the time
Acrylic shapes - I’ve yet to use the ones that have been sitting in my stash forever.
Wood shapes - No
Sequins - No
Twine, string, etc. - Baker’s twine with tags and embroidery floss through buttons (a bunch was passed on to me).
Ribbon - Love using ribbon
Metal charms - Holding on to these with the hope of using them for something other than my scrapbooks.
Paper flowers - Much less than before because there’s so much ephemera available.
Washi tape - Only with my planner
Rub ons - Nope. I’ve yet to recover from my dislike of the old style rub ons.
Brads - Mostly to secure labels to binders and stuff
Buttons - Yes
Film strips -Not currently

I'm limited to one banker's box of primarily 12x12 papers right now. (and I apologize for adding that disclaimer to all of my posts, but I figure people won't all have seen a post mentioning it already, or remember). So for right now, I am only using a few cardstock sticker & washi tape that happen to have been packaged in bags with certain papers. When I have all of my supplies available I tend to use: Cardstock stickers - often Puffy stickers - rarely Die Cuts - often Chipboard - often Enamel dots -often Frames - sometimes Tags - often Acrylic shapes - never Wood shapes - rarely Sequins - rarely Twine, string, etc. -often Ribbon -sometimes Metal charms - rarely Paper flowers -rarely Washi tape - often Rub ons - regularly Brads - regularly Buttons - sometimes Film strips - never Puffy stickers suffer in my regard from the fact that I was a kid in the 80s and puffy stickers of old would fall apart fairly easily/quickly, and now despite knowing they make them better now, I still have a resentful bias against the poor things.

What about... Eyelets - I lost my setter. I still have some from way back in the day- I like the way they look, though. Border punches - And shape scissors. I will bring those out on occasion. I love my shape punches- I use them a lot. Very convenient. Die cuts you due cut yourself (like QuicKutz) - I took my Cricut to my sister's and when I brought it back I never set it up again. I'll do that today. Burlap - Oh, I love burlap so much! Some of my favorite pages use it. I need to dig that out- I forgot about it. Acrylic Paint - I'll color wood shapes once in awhile. I like the Dina Wakley ones that have the really fine tip and nice weight. Foam stamps - Never appealed to me. Bows - I do use these on occasion. I haven't bought any in forever but I have some in my stash. Pockets with journaling tags - I never got into these. I know Pinkfresh still sells them. Ink (for like inked edges) - I loved inked edges. I got out of the habit of doing it, and maybe I shouldn't have. Tear Bears - Egads, no! That reminds me of 2Peas way back in the day. Vellum - I love Vellum. So pretty. I hoard it when I should be using it. Bottle caps - I never used these. I just never understood them. Well that was a blast from the past.

I never filled in mine:
How often do you use: Cardstock stickers - All of the time. Puffy stickers - Sometimes. A lot of the time they are really little so I use them for sprinkles or on clusters. Die Cuts - Almost always. Chipboard - Sometimes. It is usually more expensive, though. I like the chipboard words that 49 & Market has. Enamel dots - All of the time. Probably 75% of my layouts. Frames - I never understood them, but I bought a pack from 49 & Market and now I'm addicted. Pinkfresh has nice ones, too. Tags - I love how most lines include a cut apart tag page now. Very versatile. Cute with ribbon or twine. Acrylic shapes - I love them. So expensive but I love the layouts I've used them on. NJFB has really nice ones. Also Shadnee. Wood shapes - Those were all over and then disappeared. I love them. Shadnee on Etsy makes really fun ones. Definitely non-archival but oh well... Sequins - I use them a ton, especially after I got one of those wax nail art tools. It was a game changer. Twine, string, etc. - I love adding this. I like the texture it adds. Ribbon - Sometimes. I have a ton- I need to dig it out more. So pretty on layouts. Again, it adds texture. Metal charms - Sometimes. You can buy bags of them on Amazon or Temu. I like the extra something metal adds to a page. Paper flowers - I haven't bought any in 15 years but I like to dig them out sometimes. They are pretty. Washi tape - I love it. I need to use it more than I do. I usually add extra tape or staples or something to hold it down better. Rub ons - I love the 49 & Market ones. I just saw that AALL Creates has the type I like, too. I like the mixed media look it adds. Brads - I have a lifetime supply. I'm trying to use them more. I've always liked them. Enamel dots are easier, though. Buttons - I know this is old school but they are so cute when you need a non-themed accent in a cluster. Film strips - Oh my gosh, this is my favorite right now. I think I need an intervention.

Fun question ! Are you going to compile the results for us?
My Occasionally means about one in every 10 layouts will have that embellishment.
Cardstock stickers - Frequently Puffy stickers - Sometimes - I don't like them, but I own a few so I use them when they work for a layout. Die Cuts - Frequently Chipboard - Occasionally - I tend to reach for cardstock alphas and stickers instead. Enamel dots - Occasionally Frames - Occasionally Tags - Occasionally Acrylic shapes - Rarely - I don't have many. Wood shapes - Occasionally Sequins - Occasionally. Twine, string, etc. - Occasionally Ribbon - Occasionally Metal charms - Rarely Paper flowers - Depends on the project. I don't hesitate to use them on layouts where they are appropriate, like Proms, Weddings, Easter, but avoid on layouts like sports, beach, Snow events, etc. Washi tape - Rarely. Most of my Washi tape has not held up. Rub ons - Occasionally - I think I would use them more often if I had more. Brads - Rarely. Buttons - Occasionally Film strips -Occasionally

Stamperia also has some that look quite nice - watching Vicki P videos, she’s uses them in everything she makes. I’ve seen Shimelle use the 49&Mkt ones and they look like good quality. I’ve seen them for planners and in Asian stationery lines too, but they are called something different, I cant think of the name.

Part two:
Eyelets: Rarely on tags
Border punches: Gave them all away. I’ve recently acquired a couple of border dies
Die cuts you cut yourself (like QuicKutz): Often
Burlap: Never
Acrylic Paint: No, but I’m not ruling out its use in the future.
Foam stamps: I recall having some decades ago
Bows: Love ribbon, but horrible bow maker so no.
Pockets with journaling tags: Haven’t added pockets to my pages since 2008ish, but I’m not opposed to doing so.
Ink (for like inked edges): I’m a bit heavy handed now due to a few surgeries on my arm. I’m finding my way back to this using brushes, etc.
Tear Bears: Never
Vellum: Loved using it back in the day. Open to doing so again.
Bottle caps: Used one on a home decor project many years ago.
