I take back what I said on another thread about not being interested in holiday lines yet.
That nutcracker line will be mine, right down to every kind of washi.
And the wood grain line made me think I was on Home Depot’s site…not that there’s anything wrong with that!

Love the wood grains!
Baking spirits bright is cute, but seems similar to a baking one from a few years ago, minus the pink.
Christmas Joy and Nutcracker are pretty, but nothing I need.
I like the enamel dots in essentials, but don't really need them either.

I really like the designs on all three Christmas kits but again - traditional colours just do not work for my summer Christmas photos. And all three kits are pretty much THE SAME COLOURS! Ugh.

I don't mind a couple of the woodgrain papers and I appreciate that more manufacturers are jumping onto selling colourways of basics like the enamel dots.
A couple of pieces in the Nutcracker line are lovely, I especially like the yellow star print on the reverse of the nutcrackers paper, and I like the paper from the baking line with the stand mixers and mixing bowls, but everything else is a very easy pass.

I really like the designs on all three Christmas kits but again - traditional colours just do not work for my summer Christmas photos. And all three kits are pretty much THE SAME COLOURS! Ugh. Even though it is winter when we celebrate Christmas, I run into that same issue to a degree. My parents use a white tree with blue & silver decor, so the background in the photos is always those colors. Plus, a lot of our family favor blue clothing as well. So the red & green papers often are really difficult for me to work with for all of the big family get-together type pics. |

Nutcracker Christmas - Ugh, no. Bad colors and the Nutcracker ballet is creepy. I think the ballerina stencil is cute- if I scrapped little girls in dance I'd get it.
Baking Spirits Bright - I always need baking themed paper but this is not it. It is ugly. The stencils are okay, though.
Christmas Joy - Not as ugly as the other two, but I'm still not thrilled with it. There are a couple of papers that are nice, and the stencils.
Wood Grains - This I need. I'll buy both packages. I can always use wood grained paper. This is pretty.
Essentials - I need to see what my enamel dot collection is missing.

Mercy, I am going to need another job, lol...Loving the Wood Grains, always great to me...and ALL the enamel dots, rofl.....like I need more.  PLEASE think outside the boz on Christmas colors please..give us some different color schemes in kits.....ALL of them are reds and greens....some of us step outside the lines with our colors, lol!  :/ |

I share your frustration. In addition to the three Echo Park holiday collections in this release, Carta Bella - A Vintage Christmas in the July release (discussed here) also has a traditional holiday color palette. IIRC there was more variety of style/color palettes/etc. in the EP/CB holiday collections in prior years. |

I'm not ready to look at/think about Christmas, so.......
Wood Grains is cool.
And Essentials is just basics that I would purchase anywhere else cheaper if I needed it, but I don't because I have a huge full stash I already built.

Nutcracker - going to pick some items up to save for when we go see the Nutcracker again. Hoping this year.
Baking Spirits Bright - nothing I need. Not digging it.
Christmas Jow - nope. Not a fan of the very dark papers.
Wood Grains - cool but nothing I need. Don't really use wood grains much anymore.

Baking Spirits Bright is my style, I like the fonts and designs BUT I don't need more Christmas paper especially baking because I have a bunch of Doodlebug paper like that.

To me they are very earthy as well as vintage sometimes and I don't scrap that way. I think I have 4 layouts total with wood grain. Same, except I don't recall ever purchasing/using woodgrain! I am considering, however, buying a sheet of the Light Wood Grain for basketball layouts, although I would prefer lines, grid, or ledger on the reverse (ETA: like SS Woods papers, specifically those with a white background) rather than the matching solid. |

Floral arrangements or single flowers, or leaves look really nice against a wood grain. It adds texture and interest without taking away. They are also good for masculine cards. Use as a background with a sentiment, or with trees, or maybe even with fishing stuff. On scrapbook pages I have used them as backgrounds or even mats. They look good with florals when I do a special picture of, for example, my sister. Also have used them in pages about the garden. And, I think also on a summer page about outdoor activities. |

I do use them for earthy layouts but I also use them on layouts that aren't earthy at all. I kind of consider woodgrain a staple- I love visual texture and woodgrain always adds that.

While I agree woodgrain papers are a staple, considering they're often included in collections - from realistic to stylized & in various colors, it's just not one that I use (ETA: unless I decide to buy the EP Light Wood Grain for basketball layouts). It seems the EP Warm Wood Grains would work well for earthy or country themed layouts & the EP Cool Wood Grains for beachy-related layouts. I look forward to seeing your layouts. |
