Well, the box arrived yesterday but as of yet hasn't been opened. When you stab yourself in the hand with a pair of scissors trying to open the box it tends to take some of the thrill away. Today we're going to try and get the rest of the blood stains out of the carpet that didn't come out last night. Maybe then I'll be ready to take another stab at opening the box. (Very poor pun there!) Oh noooooo!!! I have had great success getting blood and sharpie off the carpet with this www.naturesmiracle.com/I hope you just love your empress when you are able to use it.

For anyone who bought their Empress on sale, would you mind sharing what you paid? And if not was purchased from the Anna Griffin site or elsewhere. I’m trying to get a handle on what a “good” price is. Thank you!

I’m trying to get a handle on what a “good” price is. Thank you! I got the mini-empress on sale at HSN for 129.00. I think it typically runs about 170? Edited to add the full size one seems to be on Amazon right now for 220, which I think is a good price for the full size?

I got the regular empress for $170 on the Anna Griffin site. It was already on sale for $200 and there was a code for 15% off your first order. I also got an extra set of plates and 2 extra magnetic mats that were on sale and I got the 15% off as well. I read somewhere the magnetic mats were out of stock a lot that’s why I ordered them.
I am cutting into the magnetic mat for my sandwich.
I will say, in my opinion, the regular impress is smaller than I imagined but a perfect size. I would not have been happy with a mini.

I bought the regular size on Anna's website. It was on sale for $180. Total cost was $192.60 with state and county tax. Shipping was free.
Got my box open (after several attempts at cleaning the carpet) and tried it out on some Concord & 9th floral dies. Did a really nice job cutting and much easier to use than my old Big Shot.

I think I paid $199, regular sized one from HSN a couple years ago. It was in a bundle that included a couple dies.

If you haven’t gotten one yet, they’re 30% off today too. PLUS free shipping. Use the new customer code and save an additional 15%.
I got one - $157.68 with taxes. Not bad.

WELL....thank you enablers. I had planned to wait until the end of the year to buy an Empress, but the 30 + 15 off for new customers just was too good to pass up. So, it's ordered

Mine just arrived! I'm off work today so hope to get it set up on my table and start using it.
I would like to get a turntable to put it on - does anyone have one? Where did you purchase? I didn't see one on the Anna G site.

Thanks, but $63 for a lazy susan... that's a lot of stamp sets LOL. There's a 10" one on Amazon for 8 bucks. Once I get it out and set up I'll check the measurements to see if that one would work. The machine is pretty heavy.

I have Anna’s turntable and I do like it. The machine is big. Plus it has the cubbie to store all your plates on the shelf as part of the turntable which is a really nice feature.

I bought a turntable from Amazon for $9.98 and it works great. Sturdy enough to support the weight of the machine. I've got it all set up in time for the next card event. 12-inch Lazy Susan Turntable Organizer

Well now I wish I would have purchased during the 20% off sale. I bought the Sizzix Switch Plus last year and after using it a lot this past week, it's not great. In order for the dies to cut properly through felt, I need to use a metal shim, but the plates/shims warp so easily that it's an effort to get the plates to catch/run through. I'm over it. Crafting should not be this difficult.
So I will go back to using the manual Spellbinders Platinum and wait for another AG 20% off sale. Hopefully not too far in the future.

I did, then after they sent the one that mentioned the sale and I decided to do it, I unsubscribed.

I signed up for the newsletter so I am prepared.

The bigger machine is $50 off today, and stacks with a 15% coupon (WELCOME15). That was a good enough savings for me. Ordered!

Is anyone else finding it REALLY WEIRD and a bit difficult to get used to placing your die facing up and the CS on top of it? I wonder why the Empress is backwards from all the others?

I don’t cut that way. From bottom to top I use clear plate, magnetic plate, cardstock, die face down, then clear plate. I cut into the magnetic mat. I’m pretty sure this is the way Jennifer McGuire cuts too.

Is anyone else finding it REALLY WEIRD and a bit difficult to get used to placing your die facing up and the CS on top of it? I wonder why the Empress is backwards from all the others? So the sandwich instructions that come with the Empress are a little obsolete. Obviously, it still works, but it's now highly recommended to use the following sandwich (Anna Griffin does it this way herself): -Cutting plate on the bottom - Magnetic mat -Cardstock -Die facing down onto cardstock -Cutting plate on top (if you need to use the metal shim, it goes between the bottom cutting plate and the magnetic mat) It does mean cutting into the magnetic mat, but the mat lasts a long time and it's cheaper to replace than the cutting plates. I have had zero warping issues and its really nice to have clear cutting plates - and also, this way the magnetic mat is actually functional as a magnet, so no more washi tape to hold down my die and paper.
