Are you signing up?
I really enjoyed last years event but said I wouldn't do it this year as I now have a lot of PF holiday goodies. That said, now, 8 months later, I am sorely tempted.
I’d like to find a holiday event or two next fall (not SCT) if I don’t sign up for PF. Can y’all remind who else does holiday events in the fall?

Altenew does a comfort and cozy holiday event for 1 day, mostly the card were winter themes. I think there were about 6 classes and I really enjoyed it.
Concord and 9th did a holiday event, I think it was a day and 2-3 classes.
Hero Arts does their one day holiday stamp along, about 8 classes I think, where you can use your own supplies or purchase the bundle.
I did all 3 events and enjoyed it. However, I think Pinkfresh had the best event and best value for the cost. I plan to sign up for their holiday event.

I'd like to do something different, too. Thanks for sharing those, craftmepink ! I really like the Concord & 9th cards, and am tempted to try an Altenew event. Has anyone seen any postings for those?

As of now, I’m not planning to take any holiday classes. I don’t send enough holiday cards to justify more holiday products.

I've done the PF Holiday event the last 2 years so I'll likely do this year's event as well. I haven't signed up for it yet though. craftmepink thanks for sharing your cards from other events. I really like the Altenew and Concord & 9th cards!! I may look into those for this year as well.

I’m on the fence. I understand it’s a lot of product for the money, but it’s still a lot of money to spend sight unseen. I think going over the $200 mark is what’s making me pause.

I read in Altenew's fb group that they're still working on planning this. If I recall correctly from last year, the sign ups for the event wasn't until July or August.

Yes, the Cozy Comfort retreat was the first weekend in October, but registration didn't open until later in the summer.

For planning purposes, assuming this year is similar to last year, I signed up for the Altenew class on 8/12. Using an early bird discount of $51, the total was $265 with tax. Shipping included. I really enjoyed these classes. A very different look and feel for Altenew and I was a fan!
I signed up for the C9 class on 8/23. The "no ink" option was $166 with tax. Shipping included. Just 2 classes, if I remember correctly. Loved the Through the Woods products.

I'm very tempted based on the instructors and that it's PF. I guess the thing holding me back is that I haven't finished last year's PF holiday class. Holiday Cookie Jar stamps/stencils/dies feels like something I will want! Wrapped in Joy sounds like gifts/presents, so the images might be useable for other birthday/celebrations? I like "Joy" type sentiments because it's good for non-christmas holiday cards, too.

Scrapbook & Cards also does a Holiday card event in July - I believe it's one day. I signed up for it this year but didn't take it last year. I'm hoping to get a head start on my cards this year. I absolutely love those Concord & 9th cards from last year craftmepink - all of the cards are pretty, but C&9 is right up my alley, in particular. Gorgeous!

Now that I've read the class descriptions, I went ahead signed up... I forgot the guest company was Simon Says Stamp! My birthday is in October so I'm justifying this as a gift to myself LOL!

Nope. It’s explicitly fall themed. Pumpkins and hazelnuts and foliage.

Well, for anyone wanting Altenew to do NOT FLORALS, this would seem to fit the bill. But for people looking for holiday card events, not so much.

Now I love fall, and for the most part, this is right up my alley (I can do without the nuts) but that price? No. And they put a value of $930 on the kit to make you think you are getting a deal at $350. I just won't spend that. I don't remember how much I spent for Crop & Create this year, but I don't think it was that much and that box is beyond packed with product. I'll probably get a case of FOMO, but I will some how survive.

I will assume that the value is partly based on what they're paying the teachers, none of whom would or should come cheap. But still... (No criticism of people who are happy to spend that for this or any other event intended, of course!)

(No criticism of people who are happy to spend that for this or any other event intended, of course!) I'll be honest and say that I have not done an Altenew event yet. I have been totally turned off by their "valuation" and find it to be tacky as can be. There is no reason to add it, I don't believe other events do the same, or if they do, it's been in a much more subtle way. We've all been around long enough to know that they are stretching the value of the kit in a big way. I was considering doing the event until I saw that it is full of fall/autumn supplies. not holiday :/ Girls, I'm going to need some serious hand-holding/keeping me in line to NOT sign up for the PF holiday event, especially since C9 isn't doing a holiday event after all.

I like fall well enough as well, but I don't do a lot of fall cards and I already have a good selection of supplies.
I know Altenew is somewhat silly in their valuations, but I don't mind too much. Or I try to see it as more silly than obnoxious. Their B/S/T group on FB is very active and unwanted kit items sell well.

I am not opposed to fall, and appreciate the non-floral-ness of Altenew's offering here, but what on earth does one do with a hazelnut branch or a pistachio branch??? Like the dies cut the actual nuts. What does that go with?
The pumpkins are fine, kinda wish they were able to be cut separate, but it looks like not. They are just.....generic looking pumpkins. Not worthy of that kind of money, and too seemingly generic for a retreat-type focus, IMO.
ETA: Too bad, because it is a nice line-up of instructors.

I will pass on this, I always laugh at Altenew's valuation of products. No way is that worth over $900, but only charging $250. Altenew is one of my favorite companies though.
I like fall but I don't see myself using these products over again. Now if they did a spooky halloween event, I would be all in!
