I live in the foothills of The Great Smoky Mountains. What a great place to hike! My late husband and son hiked and backpacked a great deal. I joined them on just a few hikes. The most beautiful hike is to Mt LeConte. We stayed overnight in one of the cabins there and had our meals in the caretaker’s lodge. I have such severe Osteo I am unable to hike any longer. My son and daughter-in-law do hike. He proposed to her on a hike to a waterfall in the Smokies.

Yes!!! as much as possible! It's a rare vacation that we don't visit an area we can hike in! We love national parks and they are frequent destinantions, plus we live in Utah and there is plenty of hiking all over! So far my favorite hikes have been in the Redwoods, Custer State park and The Wave in southern Utah!
